It is once again time to say that reliving the war is the best show in wrestling right now, not just UA-cam. And also, anyone that's attending AEW Revolution this weekend, please, can we try to get a JAM or Saturday Wright fever sign on camera for our boy Wrestling Bios!
Wrestling bios is the only UA-cam series that has the power to make me stop whatever I'm doing in the middle of doing it, the poop is just going to have to stay in my daughter's diaper for another half an hour
I think (but I'm not positive) it was during this time Regal got in trouble for urinating on an air hostess while drunk. It would explain why he dropped the TV title to Dragon so fast and his push pretty much ended after this match.

It was such a unique storyline. One of the best, if not the best ever. I really do feel it peaked with The Canadian Stampede PPV. Being outside of the USA. I wouldn’t call it a “heel turn” by Bret. I would say the fans turned on Bret, they were the heels. Where as everywhere else, not just Canada, Bret, along with The Hart Foundation, were still viewed as baby faces. Now that’s how you book a wrestling angle and storyline. The likes of what WCW couldn’t dream of.
@@martynodonnell8467 so many companies (including WWE) have tried to recreate this storyline but it never works becuse without Bret, Shawn, Austin, Foley, Vince, Owen, Bulldog, JR……wait what was i saying? What a ducking list of legends. All at once.
@@JPD2587 - they killed Owen. If Owen didn't injure Austin the Vince feud wouldn't have been a fun thing... go figure an axial load made him Top 5 of that era on Most Popular/Successful Wrestlers.
@@martynodonnell8467 I was only 4 years old when this episode aired on Monday July 21 1997. But being a professional wrestling fan. I saw Eric Bishoff do a interview with Michael Landsberg in Canada. 1 year later and Landsberg asked Bishoff. Are you going to bring back the United States and Canada storyline. And Eric Bishoff pointed out its boring. It's hard to believe Raw this Night failed to beat Nitro. Raw was a better show. That got 4.1 in the TV Ratings. Only reason they didn't win was because they where not going head to head this night.
@@TheAaronChand WCW, along with Bischoff, had no idea how to book a wrestling show. This has become increasingly apparent watching Reliving The War. They got lucky, during a very downtime for WWF and wrestling in general. They had a couple of, at the time, groundbreaking storylines and turned Hogan heel, during the process. This however became stale very quickly. They didn’t have much else, apart from the NWO and the cruiser weights. WWF were the better show at the start of 97 and by far the better show by the end of 97. Bischoffs ego will still tell us otherwise though.

Jim Cornette has multiple great backstage stories about this show. Main one being his fall out with Kevin Dunn and calling him a bucktooth beaver during a production meeting. Mainly because this being the in ring debut of The Patriot totally screwed him over, which it did.
@@bobmarshall8527 Couldn't find an exact excerpt but just look up Cornette and Dunne or Beaver or Patriot. There are multiple and he has told it multiple times. I think the youshoot excerpt is the original.
I was waiting for this episode for some time. I attended a WWF House Show event two days before this RAW show in 97. Probably the best live wrestling card I got to see in person to this day. Scott Taylor vs Leif Cassidy The Godwinns vs The Headbangers Faarooq & Kama vs The New Blackjacks Brian Pillman vs Flash Funk Ken Shamrock vs The British Bulldog Goldust vs Hunter Hearst Helmsley (w/Chyna) Bret Hart & Owen Hart vs Dude Love & Steve Austin The Undertaker vs Vader (Casket Match)
