the inception of tree videos I didn't know I needed. LOL
Dave, same. I used to fill that stuff out too on the download screen and then I'm like "oh, wait..." haha
just did this successfully but preserved 16 and installed 17 to delay upgrading resolve database on external hard drive. worked great and i can access my older databases on version 16. thanks for this very specific and helpful tutorial, exactly what i was looking for
Good to hear
Really interesting!
whoa i have not seen a video from you in so long
After doing this, how would you go about updating 15 to the next version? Do you basically do the same thing, except in reverse?
Dave - I'm currently using DaVinci Resolve 12.5 and would like to upgrade to version 16. I'd like to keep v 12 in the event I run into any issues with 16. Will the process you demonstrate in the video also work for keeping v 12 and operating v 16 at the same time?
It takes some time to unload Resolve for memory, that's why you can't run it the very instance you closed it.
Don't use resolve yet - may go there if you keep showing me cool things - STOP IT!! :) - So, did I miss it? Why would you want both versions running? Thanks!
me too, garbage (kidding )
Because 16 is a beta... so you'd want to hang on to a solid version if you had a project on the go but wanted to test out the new features. :)
The minute I read your comment, I realized what an incredibly stupid question that was. LMAO! 😁
It's all good... we all do it ;) @@BasicFilmmaker
@@BasicFilmmaker bet you cant get it done dog!
My ageing computer is getting nervous just playing this video. I dread to think what it would do if it were to actually try to run them.
Good stuff Dave! I got you covered on the scaling issue here: ua-cam.com/video/3bKT6GXC5qE/v-deo.html The same thing happened to me, but I wasn't sure if it would be universal (and I probably forgot about it) so it didn't make it in the tutorial. Keep up the good work bud!
