I was screaming at my tablet watching your video telling you that you missed a spot only to realize I had a fingerprint on my screen. LOL great job enjoyed it
Great video, love that you got the chance to work on this vehicle and share this story with us. It's another arrow in our quiver while learning about detailing. You're an awesome teacher. How you added up the vehicles forensic evidence on why the paint failed was cool to watch. A great detailer can help the client learn the next correct step to rectifying their vehicles issues possible saving them money.
Another great video. I've heard you mention mohs a few times before. I've never used it but now it's on my list of coatings to try on future customers. Maybe even my own car. You're meticulous on how you address that truck. Good job!! Well done
Chelsea- Great video, thanks. It was gratifying to see that I’m not the only one who gets mid job second thoughts. Two days ago I did an F150 wash, decon, paint enhancement and glass polish, then DIY Detail 5 yr/ 3yr stack and Cerakote trim restorer. I was so just wanting to be done, but when I saw this video, I felt much better that I wasn’t the only one who felt like this. I wish I had your insight as to which product might be better for a certain job, but it’s nice to know we have you and your willingness to share your experience to help us along. Thanks once again for your good work.
I am fairly new to detailing and find you to be the best, down to earth, instructor that I’ve found on UA-cam. I hope you always remember how much you and your knowledge are appreciated.
Well done! You’ve got a really nice way about you and how you go about a job. Attn to the decals was great. Tuned in to watch and wasn’t expecting Mohs but was pleased when it showed up as that is a coating that I’ve been researching lately. It is on my son’s Tundra and we have been amazed at its performance.
Chelsea!!!! Bravo excellent job. I am so loving your content. And you always get a chuckle out of me. lol . Much respect to you and your hard work ethic. My next ceramic application I am going to use this product
Even though the wipe off is a little greasy, i still really love 3D ONE. Its great for cars with sticky paint and has a long long work time. In fact, i think you could actually work it forever. It never dries up!
Turned out great. I understand the job was for a 1 step, but I was wondering if you wet sanded where the clear coat failed to blend better with the rest of the hood it may have looked a little better on the hood. Perhaps the price of the job may have been a little higher for the extra work.
It would have been. I did off camera try the purple wool pad and diy detail gold standard (5-5-5 method) and surprisingly it did help clean it up more but it didn’t have much clear for me to polish plus I was worried about burning through so let it alone. I forgot to mention that in the video
Chels first of all that was srsly cool, secondly my heart warms up seeing u using Gyeon products, they are amazing and in my country (Poland) really good value for money, I did Mohs Evo on my BMW g42 and almost all my family cars, it's amazing, long lasting, easily appliable, cheapish, super slick, only thing I recommend (and is a little flaw) is that it's true potential is unlocked after two layers, then it's a juggernaut coating (also topped with cancoat a destroyer of beading worlds), I know it's a lot but itw worth it. Also you didn't mention the slickness, it's amazing 😎
Parking at an angle is a cool idea! Is you garage heated from you central heating for the entire house, or do you have a dedicated heater or system for the garage?
Awesome video, Chelsea! I was finally able to finish watching it. I didn’t get to finish the premier because unfortunately, my daughter started throwing up, but she’s OK. God, I wish I had your talent and skill. What would you recommend for someone who is getting into this real late in life. I’m 58 years old and I’m really enjoying it, and I would love to take some classes, because I’d rather be taught in person than just learning it online.
@ I’d like to do it as a side hustle, but that may change later on. At the moment I enjoy taking care of my car and my wife’s car, but I wanna feel more comfortable before detailing other people’s cars. I would like to learn more about polishing, like which pads to use and compounds. The difference between a one step and two step paint correction. I also love watching your podcasts.
Phil Miranda does one on one training if you’re near him, I offer it as well, but you could also try Detailwise academy classes from Car Supplies Warehouse if you’re near Chicago
Came out fantastic! Don't know why your customer waited so long to have this done. Did you use any trim restore on the bed trim, running boards or mirrors?
Certain ones can, but this one didn’t have a lot of transfer solution that I was pushing around as it does evaporate pretty quickly. I didn’t go through a ridiculous amount of towels, maybe four total, which is actually pretty low in comparison to even some rainbow coatings that I use. I think that’s why I didn’t have many high spots because I didn’t have a ton of transfer solution. I was pushing around.
If there’s no clearcoat on the vehicle, no there’s really no benefits as it needs a clearcoat to bond with. But this vehicle had 99% of the clearcoat corrected other than that little bit on the hood. It might be a temporary Band-Aid to slow down the failure from getting worse so it will help the vehicle overall. It just depends on the paint and if it’s correctable

That's so kind of you to say! I truly appreciate that.
very true! Also thanks!
Working the emblems so well shows why you ate attention to detail. Great job

You always make them look so awesome! Trucks are such a pain. So much to cover.

Totally agree!
Mohs Evo is also my favorite to work with. It really sold me after I did a suv on a drive way in Miami.
Mohs rulz
Awesome results!!
Another job well done. Thank you Chelsea for sharing with us. 💯💪
Holy crap, that truck looks amazing! Great job!

What a great explanation on clear coat failure. Awesome work and great video
Thank you, I appreciate it!
Excellent work as always!
I appreciate that
Great job, absolutely transformed
Looks beautiful Chelsea.
Great video Chelsea.
So glad you liked it!

Srsly?
@@OrthodoxChristian27 Are you asking a specific question?
@ no, forgive me. I just get a kick out of it when people say “srsly”. God bless.
Excellent work 💪🔥 that GLOSS is insane
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Parking at an angle is a cool idea! Is you garage heated from you central heating for the entire house, or do you have a dedicated heater or system for the garage?
I have a mini split for dedicated heat and a/c

@ thank you 🙏🏽 she’s been vomiting all day, but she’ll be fine. Guess she got that stomach bug.
Nice video! I am debating whether or not to wait till spring to do a coating on my car. This might convince me.
Where there is a will there is a way!
Ready as always
Came out fantastic! Don't know why your customer waited so long to have this done. Did you use any trim restore on the bed trim, running boards or mirrors?
Yes I used Lonestar Trim Restorer to restore the trim and it turned out great. IMO it’s better than solution finish
And they just got it this year so it was “new to them”
Great video thanks for sharing 😊
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Way to go Chelsea. Close up your jacket so you don't get a cold lol.
It's nice to have a nice heated garage with a floor drain. Wait till you get 34 years under your belt and I'm 57 years old.
"Forensic evidence". 😆
Nice work! Do the sweating coatings make your leveling towel wet and need more than one per vehicle?

@ Gotcha. Thanks. Was just curious. I’ve never used a sweating coating
Awesome
Love you
Great video! Hi from Christian
I don’t think ceramic coatings have measurable UV protection. Dmitry’s garage channel has a great videos on this.
Agreed but it’s some. But that’s why I recommend topping with a ceramic sealant to keep the UV protection fresh
maybe but any tests I’ve seen they don’t do anything at all.
Ok let's goooooooooo
Is it really worth it to ceramic coat a vehicle with terrible paint? Mine isn’t terrible but it’s 12 years old so I figured it was a waste of time.
