Great performance. Greg has an adequate sound system, and he's magnificent, with a real edge to his voice. Craig's solo is fine, and he hits high A. And Todd's quick rumba line under everything is energetic and athletic. Difficult to blow that hard at that volume for so long. Shaye of course is Shaye, and we all love her.
"Tell It Like It Is", first recorded circa 1960 by the prolific New Orleans musician Edwin Bocage, better known as Eddie Bo. Thanks for recording the fun. I hope they do it again in the street.
@@PopsCoffee Pops, it's probably open to speculation but many attribute the songwriting to Eddie Bo on some of these although the record label says "Allen-Johnson". Delores Johnson was Eddie's wife at the time (and I think later an "Ikette"!). There is a view Eddie used her name to either please her or for "financial" reasons. Bill "The Hossman" Allen was an influential DJ and promoter at radio WLAC, an R&B incubator, and it has been suggested by others that many label owners and songwriters gave him part of the credit (royalties?) to curry favour and perhaps to get their records some airtime.
