    Aloha Jan. I know this video is an oldie but goodie, but I continue to go back to it. I’m starting a Hawaiian quilt class today which is all about the appliqué stitch and I just needed a quick review. Thank you.

    Thank you Jan! Your video was just what I needed to figure out how to apply a dresden plate to a block. I'm having a really good time with this and might be ready for an applique quilt in the near future.

      +roger Burton finished all the plates and now find that I miss the applique. I think I had a better time with that than I did piecing the quilt together. Thanks Jan

    You know what I add more than you have to take care of the shoulders and back? A big cushion or a big sleeping pillow. So, with your chair, fabric and everything, we will call mover to bring everything!! Lol!! Take care.

    Jan, love your quilts and your videos. I'm making your Christmas 101 quilt right now and one issue I'm running into a lot with the applique stitch is my fabric underneath ends up buckling and puckering. I've tried pinning so carefully (I use the clover pins) but to no avail. Am I holding the material incorrectly? Am I using my needle incorrectly? Any tips to avoid buckling?

    Since you said that you take your quilting to the doctors office? IS there a certain sewing bag for you items or do you just stuff it in you purse? Love your videos- Thanks 4 sharing. Great Teacher.

    When you are actually sewing your applique pieces to the background, how do you avoid the fabric wrinkling as you hold it?

    Dear Jean, adoro assistir seus vídeos! Você explica com tanta facilidade que parece bem fácil de se faze, mas tenho uma dúvida, que é , os tecidos que fazemos aplicação, tem que ser molhados antes de executar o trabalho?

    Do you teach classes farther east than Missouri Quilt shop??? I live in southern Ohio, 100 east of Cincinnati, but would love to take your class. Willing to travel to Missouri if that is the closest.

    How is the heart staying in the proper placement? Has it been pressed down?

  • @Stardancer41
    @Stardancer41 10 років тому +1

    LaurMitMom - Good heavens, I never said to pin or glue the heart in place. Make sure you have room to turn the 1/4" seam under. Use your Clover Silk pins or the Jilly Applique glue.

    I love needle turn but my eyes go wonkie after awhile, and yes I wear glasses but have to take them off to sew. I guess that makes me near sighted lol.
