I thought that this game would be too similar to genshin. However, seeing this game in action makes me want to play it. The character customization is my favorite part of the game so far haha
I think the devs did a wonderful job of solving some of the glaring issues Genshin has with its UI and material equipment menus. I love the ease of use that players get to experience here, unlike Genshin where we have to open multiple menus to get something we need. The open world doesn't look as vibrant as Genshin, but I am willing to experience it. That alone tells that it was a job well done. I wonder how good is the story though, cause Genshin's story has been held back by a lack of 3rd person POV from other characters, even though Hoyo can do it. (Imo, they are too lazy to do it). If ToF forces itself through 1st person POV without being creative about telling any of the complex details that occur off-screen, then it's only worth exploring the map. That means I can download the game, explore the map and come back another time.
Yea but nobody is made of money so many will need to chose on wich to play or at the very least which to pay and foor us genshin that will be some primos and maybe even resin buffs also theu seem a lot more generous once they nedded to do a some fixes and the game was down and they gave 10 pulls that's a lot
Just the fact that it has such extensive customization (and an MC voice, good lord) is enough to have me very intrigued. Plus, the weapon simulacra system is actually really cool!

Although I like the customisation (who doesn't? lol), I think Hoyoverse's decision to keep just two models is better since they can make cutscenes super clean and the Traveler always fits in the environment. ToF will definitely struggle more on those points, though it already feels less polished than Genshin imo. Either way I'm still very interested in more videos about this game so definitely do continue making them! :D
@@NekoMSG Yeah I guess that's true, you can't exactly compare them, especially when it comes to cutsenes. But since they obviously took inspiration from Mihoyo's games I feel like there's room for comparison. And MMO or not, I still think the customisation might be a bit too much, plenty of other games of the same genre still manage to make their characters fit in their environment while here I've already seen a whole lot of designs which seem a bit off. However ToF is still in CBT so we'll have to see ^^
unnie, if genshin is boring wont this game feel boring since its thhe same? I just downloaded genshin but im scared cause i think this game looks cooler cause you can dress your girl in cute clothes unlike genshin.
I always though genshin moment and combat would have benefited with more air actions and vertical movement abilities. Like a universal revalis gale kind of thing like the jetpack here would have been so much better than halfheartedly putting high jumps and air dashes into some rare anemo characters kit you may never pull.
Agreed, after playing ToF for a while, I die a lot in Genshin because my habits are so different between the games. xD But man, do I smell salt over not having Xiao? :P Not that I don't agree, but Mr. Rubberball really is due for a rerun of sorts...
A friend of mine who is playing the CBT said things like that ToF's story is not one of it's strong point, unlike Genshin. But it ain't that bad and that what separates ToF from Genshin is it's an MMO on it's core meaning its multiplayer features and endgame content should be way better than what Genshin has. In Genshin once you reach ar50-60+ assuming you finished all archon/main and side quests. There's nothing left to do but dailies and Abyss runs every reset until a new story or a new "seasonal" event comes. Genshin's end game is dry and just gets padded by "events". ToF looks promising on the "end game" aspect since it is an MMO, multiplayer stuff should be abundant with raids,co-op, pvp etc. So it shouldn't be as boring or dry as Genshin's end game
peeps that played on CN said it became the same as genshin so yeah.... it's gonna be the same honeymoon phase all over also it got tencent backing it so imma not touch it i'd rather wait for blue protocol
I don't get this "there is no end game in genshin". It doesnt have to be any end game, you are not required to Play it day after day after day. Wait for events areas etc. Don't push yourself playing just one game, because you will get tired of it preety fast. That's why i dont get people who rush to the endgame and cheat with guides to find chest etc... You hurt yourself and now complain there is nothing to do. I dont feel Like adding pvp or some chore dungeons is a way for endgame
@@PentaHousen i both agree and disagree. i think the issue with genshin is that its core gameplay design is exploration based- something that everyone approaches differently, most importantly at different paces- but it economic model pushes you to rush to endgame, which makes the gameplay suffer either because you skipped it to get to endgame or because youre enjoying the gameplay and you get punished by not having access to new events (which means more gameplay, story, and rewards), new areas (imagine pulling kokomi before unlocking liyue, much less inazuma), etc. but then, because the gameplay wasn't made with an endgame in mind, you get there, play the event for a week, then it's not fun again for a month. + if youre free to play, to get any sort of chance of pulling the characters you want, you gotta grind a bunch. in the end, the game is a gacha, so pulling is very important. so, yeah- it's like the game agrees with you, there is no game because there doesn't have to be, but its business model disagrees with you, as if it's saying "there is an endgame because im forcing you to either pay or grind"
@@PentaHousen I did say from AR 50-60+, since if you are at that level it is inevitable that you have already cleared all content by then. Specially if you are a day 1 player until now, so it would mean that you clear abyss, then wait for its reset? How many weeks is that? Or wait for the next story/archon quest that takes how long to be updated again? So like what I said, Genshin falls on padding content by releasing seasonal events so that players just have something else to do. And if you think that a game that discourages players to play it anytime they want to just because there's nothing else to do is not flawed, then I dunno what else to say lol.
@@ardee9337 so let say single player game like doom(insert any game) you complete it after 10 hours. You are done with the game technicly but you can still Play same levels. Nobody force you to repeadly play it, because there is no content. Its same case for genshin eventually they will add content, but if you are done with the game then why Play it over and over again? Genshin never pretend to be repeatable content game. If you already Explorer 100% of the game then go Play something else and come back where there is new event/character. Ofc we go to whole gacha aspect of the game and losing this primogems as free to play and not buying next character... But is it really that bad to not buy next character? You already spend enough hours on the game and you are not obliged to buy anything to complete it. Farming artifacts is pointless as is farming primogems for characters
Hope this game actually brings something new to the table. so that mihoyo would be forced to fix the issues with thier game. and actually listen to our demands about fixing stuff like the artifact system or late game content drying out . tof might not last that long and it might just be lightning in a bottle that will quickly die out . But a breath of fresh air is well appreciated.
9:09 for the genshin player who didn't know there's also a skip button in Honkai impact and honkai and genshin are both made by mihoyo so I think the skip button in genshin will never see the light :') (but gotta say grnshin truly need to take note from this game x))
To be fair though TOF and Honkai games have a heavy focus on combat and story(for the most part) is secondary. Even with Honkai where the lore is very important there's a text wall that makes Genshin look like a picture book and its not in English so for non native speakers you have to read. In Genshin its mostly Story focused. Its already obnoxious that people who don't actually read call the story bad. I say if your just in the game for gambling you should have to click through dialogue. (I might be biased)
from what ive gathered, you can "wish' for other characters like genshin, but you can use the weapons of the characters that you unlock, so you dont HAVE to play with those characters if you dont want to, which is actually dope as hell
I’m in the CBT as well and honestly the game is a lot better than I expected, ofc there are some issues but the get a pass cause its in closed beta, but overall the game has tons of potential that I hope will be used.
as a genshin and honkai player i will definitely play this, this game is giving me both genshin and honkai vibes and i loved the fact we can design characters and just everything about it
Though there are similarities to Genshin, I like that there are enough differences in the core play style and design that I don’t feel like one has to be better or worse than the other, I can play both for different experiences and story. Looking forward to how this turn out when it’s released!
id love to see this game further along in test beta, it looks really cool and i hope it only improves as the closed beta progresses. if you make another video later on comparing this version to a later one i think that would be really informative and cool to watch!!
That customization was actually good, thats like modern mmo style, even when some of the asset were stolen, the customazition isnt, its very common on mmorpg, but I didnt expect it to be in depth looking, the extra skill you get from the gadget looks cool too, one thing I hate is the air attacks, it does look like pso2, it can be good for combo, but it does not look well for me as it looks like your just in the air but with ground animation.
ToF have 2 advantages tho , first character creation and second, the fact that it’s an mmorpg which means you get to play and interact with other players
I’m kinda hyped to be able to make my own character instead of obtaining them, but I’m not sure about the rest of the game like the storyline. Music sounds cool tho, def gonna be trying it when it comes out
People keep barking "this game isnt gonna replace genshin" when the game isnt even out yet. Stop asking for a genshin replacement, more games means more things for people to enjoy.
They're losing players daily in Chinese server, not sure if the recent 2.0 patch will save the game though. In March, it was sitting at rank 312th in F2P game category despite being so young. It's not doing very well in its native country. They're getting purged even further for ripping off another Honkai's asset and Rainbow Six Siege atm. They should just stop ripping other games' assets for good.
Charecter customisation seems really fun. I feel compelled to check it out when it comes. the UI seems kinda familiar to honkai which I'm not a fan of. But i guess i shouldn't make assumptions since it's still in closed beta. Super excited to try it out! Nice vid btw Please make more ✨✨
Tower of Fantasy looks really cool, I definitely enjoy the futuristic setting. I hope that ToF will get a lot of recognition, so that Genshin will have some competition on the market and the devs would have the motivation to make some (very much needed) changes within the game. Hope to see new videos about ToF :))
I really do hope this game does well, if only to add competition/pressure on mihoyo to get certain features implemented. Theres tons of things I can tell ToF saw Genshin players wanted and went all in on adding.
APHO from Honkai already looks like this waaaayyyy before this game was even out. Just no Coop/mmo. If you look at APHO or APHO2's gameplay, this looks like some kind of downgrades. Search it up if you're interested.
@A. R. Abrasado Ah, I'm not stopping you from trying/ playing it. Just a slight comparison based on what ToF took inspiration on. If you're a MMO player, you will enjoy the game for a while. The dungeon difficulty is brutal though, it's not an easy game. And this is not really a CBT because it has been out in CN for 5 months. What you see it probably indicates the final version when it's coming out in Global, no more fixes. They're just testing server stability here.
geshin has better visuals but this game has so much potential than genshin and can surpass it character design-wise and seems better reward for F2p players I hope it'll be less grindy overall I can swap to this game without a single hesitation
@Eko B every game just like that.. every fresh released game will become more interesting to play that.. but sometime ... You will get bored to.. yeah its my journey play many game of mmorpg xD, the end game content its just gacha and grind your char
@@weiling9624 I'm gonna be honest (and in advance: THIS IS JUST MY OPINION AND HOW I FEEL. THIS IS WHAT I ALONE THINK.): genshin's story itself, and it's writing, is pretty... linear. And no, im not gonna go into specifics such as "X archon did Y action", or "X happened in Y nation". While the best quest that ADDS to the story (again, my opinion) has so far been Chasm, most of the time before this, all the story has been: "hi I took care of your problem" "omigosh tysmmm I am forever indebted to you" "haha cool, so where's my sis?" "idk lol" And sure that the nations events and problems add to it, in the end, its just "your sister is in another nation. probably." What kept genshin fun for me (burnt out and bored) was literally the gameplay and that alone. I did listen to the story, but god I'd be lying if I didn't say I've lost complete interest in the story, because it's 90% just "I'm gonna keep asking archons where my sibling is (do you know the definition of insanity?)" and 10% a quest involving dain + the abyss + ACTUAL exposition. And last, while I am saying this, I'm not saying ToF has better writing, but that genshin's is only a fair bit better. TLDR: genshin story is residentsleeper and I stopped caring, dain > other chars, gameplay is the only thing keeping me in and even that is falling off for me.
wow, this game is very similar to honkai! (not a bad thing, I love honkai lmao) but I feel this game is honestly quite different to genshin and may not compete with genshin, but rather, compete with honkai
The character customisation was the key in this. But ig with the level of details, cultural/media references and personality Genshin charecters are designed with, non of the customised charecter will feel as real and elegant. Tower of fantasy feels like (from this video) they just listen to what audiance is asking , what are the popular games and what are the features the players find annoying, and then just directly solved it. There is heavy motivation from both Genshin and Honkai. The combat is pretty Honkai levels with flashyness and different weapons and combos. The open world is just cyberpunkisk... But a lot like Genshin . Genshin terrains had this difficulty of traverse and they just added huge jetpacks and double jumps to make traverse way too easy. And also, No stamina for dash. Genshin gacha was soo much money grabbing so they added gacha but at the same time they heard people like charecter customisation so added it too. Genshin also had Resin complaints and MC not being voiced. They saw all the things like target marker, weapon level up and ascension, multiple set of currencies to do each things from Genshin and just stuffed it 2× or 3× more . The game has a lot of potential to be good but as of right now it's a huge mixture with way too much stuff and kinda feels like it lack a personality of it's own. Honkai had a post apocalyptic sci-fi world appearance and Genshin had a chill Isekai world with a long history and a lot of myths and legends to make it feel soo real. It's kinda like a Chekov's gun... nothing feels out of place or extra. Yes it is also stuffed with materials and all but it took time... They added a lot of features way later on Genshin. I would have preferred an approach like that in TOF too. Like, just compare the effort it took for him to get a jet pack and all vs the way Genshin incorporated the Glider. Tower of Fantasy feels like it has everything I wanted but now I'm not sure if I wanted all of it. How much effort I put in designing a new charecter, I will still look back at HuTao or Ayaka or Keqing's design and feel my design inferior. It's just like the customisable Mobile once Google tried to release... Sometimes the audiance don't know what they want
Yeah it looks like they collected every complaint people had about Genshin, and addressed all of them very specifically, but also without having the parts that make Genshin good, so in the end it just has some quality of life features Genshin doesn't have (yet at least, a lot of these would be very easy to add), but with none of the cohesiveness and depth. But it is in beta still, so we will see.

Because: they have invasion(you perfect dodge and time slows down), air combat in APHO(A Post Honkai Odessy), the overall feel of the game and they have DA-BRONYA Mecha stand(as we can see Java using) btw, Java's character looks like Hatsune Miku lmao XD SEKAI-

It's cool and all but by the look it's mostly battle related, if they make more stories I'll try it when it is actually out since this is a beta I can't judge it too much cuz the actual game might be a lot different
i remember there was so much news about TOF literally ripping off other games, which is pretty scummy. reading the comments, most people don’t seem to either mind or they haven’t seen those articles, which i find interesting. edit: other things to note is that genshin was very generous in their beta, so it’s possible TOF will not remain this generous also, it seems a lot more similar to honkai than genshin (including the fact that one of their controversies was they ripped off something from honkai directly) with the steampunk vibe, etc. the dodge perfectly time thing, (ultimate evasion) while not unique to honkai, is one of its things as well. they didn’t copy over the combo or switch mechanic. personally, i like having multiple characters and not being pressed to stick with one, because i get bored easily of the same designs and playstyles (the second may not be applicable, but the designs are). i hate having to pay what seems to be the primogem equivalent to modify, but it makes sense that they’d use that as a bonus way to get cash
Apparently, some of the assets were given to a third party studio to develop, and that third party studio screwed with the dev team by ripping assets off Honkai. Idk how true is that, but for a game that focuses on selling weapons in Gacha, I don't think the actual dev team would dare rip off the weapons from another game. That's why I am willing to believe that explanation I read in a random UA-cam comment section. Plus, it's not as if Genshin doesn't have its own set of controversies.

Idk whatgame u been playing lol the combat system in this game is better than genshin honkai trash i didnt even lnow thats a game too toll i played it its like bleach soul game but bleach better the story in genshin is so boring point where its not even relevant most f that time the animation in the game is way better than genshin visual style too u can chill with friends and do multi things genshin u repeat u get off genshin is so boring now the only way this game can kill genshin if it has successful launch its a beautiful game genshin overhyped by anime fans
@@hypsmaruf8652 I like your story bro, but have you heard of our lord and saviour, Punctuation?
I thought that this game would be too similar to genshin. However, seeing this game in action makes me want to play it. The character customization is my favorite part of the game so far haha
I really do wanna see more of the CBT of this game. If you can Java, Do it!
Looking forward to this game tbh
I hope they have a good story line tho
This game is probably not gonna replace genshin but still it's a new fresh start where you dont one shot everything unlike genshin for now at least...
I cant oneshot cuz my artifacts are trash :((

I'm definitely going to play this game, just the fact that it has character customization is making me so excited for this
I love Genshin, but I must admit that the single playable character, the customisation, and the shared world are very appealing to me in this.
Just the fact that it has such extensive customization (and an MC voice, good lord) is enough to have me very intrigued. Plus, the weapon simulacra system is actually really cool!
This game actually looks really interesting. Feels like a mix between honkai and genshin
Except that this is an mmorpg so the I you will see other players, interact with them and play with them
@@symphonixblades i hope it's not become a mess because i still feel it's not quite fit for fast paced combo game have so many player cramped inside it
Actually it's much better than honkai , in my preference. I've played honkai but since it's not an open world game, it kinda lost me there from continuing it. Other than than I totally agree with you.
no excuse
I meen this is a mmo not a single player co op game like Genshin
genshin is single player game tower of fantasy is mmorpg.
However ToF is still in CBT so we'll have to see ^^
Two pretty different games tbh. Also all the optimizations Hoyoverse has is because of mobile players.
I managed to get into the CBT as well. Gotta remember it's an MMORPG and that grinding levels/skills are required
The character customisation had me sold. I can do crazy things with my character. And the rewards INCREASE?!
This seems fun, I wanna see more of this
I just need something new to play, I’m in genshin burnout rn
@Eko Mix it up bruh. Genshin's not the only game in the world. Never treat it as a main game because you'll be bored out of your mind if you do.
unnie, if genshin is boring wont this game feel boring since its thhe same? I just downloaded genshin but im scared cause i think this game looks cooler cause you can dress your girl in cute clothes unlike genshin.
The dodging mechanic looks like evading in Honkai Impact
except honkai's actions are 20times smoother
this looks so fun to play! can't wait for its release
I always though genshin moment and combat would have benefited with more air actions and vertical movement abilities. Like a universal revalis gale kind of thing like the jetpack here would have been so much better than halfheartedly putting high jumps and air dashes into some rare anemo characters kit you may never pull.
Agreed, after playing ToF for a while, I die a lot in Genshin because my habits are so different between the games. xD
But man, do I smell salt over not having Xiao?
So it shouldn't be as boring or dry as Genshin's end game
peeps that played on CN said it became the same as genshin so yeah....
it's gonna be the same honeymoon phase all over
also it got tencent backing it so imma not touch it
i'd rather wait for blue protocol
I’m actually surprised by how good the game actually looks, I do hope Genshin will have some competition as I think it will help improve their game!
true
agree,,,although they have different gameplay, but they still have same main target market ( gacha addicted weeb and mobile gamer )
You had me at the Character Customization. Also that it has a Phantasy Star Online feel to it. Pre-Registered and can’t wait to get into it!
as a genshin and honkai player i will definitely play this, this game is giving me both genshin and honkai vibes and i loved the fact we can design characters and just everything about it
I definitely want to see more of this game in ur channel, and I'm looking forward to playing it as well
Though there are similarities to Genshin, I like that there are enough differences in the core play style and design that I don’t feel like one has to be better or worse than the other, I can play both for different experiences and story. Looking forward to how this turn out when it’s released!
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn I'm speechless, this is everything i wanted genshin to be😭 each feature you show i want it more
Ur so close to 100k good luck! Luv ur vids
id love to see this game further along in test beta, it looks really cool and i hope it only improves as the closed beta progresses. if you make another video later on comparing this version to a later one i think that would be really informative and cool to watch!!
Nice showcase! It does reveal some interesting features. The camera is dope.
I might play this game just for customising my very own character
same honestly
ngl the character customization got me, i’ll definitely download this game if i can
For me, I’ll be sticking with Genshin since it looks like it has better visuals and i don’t seem to enjoy the combat stuff in TOF.
Genshin combat is shit. Brainless and after u ar ar 57 and well built characters enemies are a jokr
ToF have 2 advantages tho , first character creation and second, the fact that it’s an mmorpg which means you get to play and interact with other players
Are you guys trying to change my mind?
when it comes to visuals, RPG games will always have better graphics and visuals compared to MMORPG. because of the hardware restrictions.

I would absolutely love to see more videos on this game. It looks awesome
tbh this game is more like honkai
@Mo yea honkai with fancy graphics
To be more specific, it's like APHO of honkai.
People keep barking "this game isnt gonna replace genshin" when the game isnt even out yet. Stop asking for a genshin replacement, more games means more things for people to enjoy.
As an mmo lover this game looks great. Played PSO2 it feels reminiscent of that, i just hope the game succeeds at player retention.
This is literally one of the best video you could ever make!!
Charecter customisation seems really fun. I feel compelled to check it out when it comes. the UI seems kinda familiar to honkai which I'm not a fan of. But i guess i shouldn't make assumptions since it's still in closed beta.
Super excited to try it out!
Nice vid btw
Please make more ✨✨
Tower of Fantasy looks really cool, I definitely enjoy the futuristic setting. I hope that ToF will get a lot of recognition, so that Genshin will have some competition on the market and the devs would have the motivation to make some (very much needed) changes within the game.
Hope to see new videos about ToF :))
This reminds me more of Honkai than Genshin
When dodge perfectly slow downs time
Great rewards
Attacking while mid air and double jump
And much
Very very nice video, please upload more, I will watch them all!
Please play more of this game! I really like the customisation system. It would be cool if they had darker skintones too, what do you think?
I really do hope this game does well, if only to add competition/pressure on mihoyo to get certain features implemented. Theres tons of things I can tell ToF saw Genshin players wanted and went all in on adding.
If Genshin impact and Honkai impact combined it will probably look like this.

This game is gonna be more grindy than Genshin
@Eko B every game just like that.. every fresh released game will become more interesting to play that.. but sometime ... You will get bored to.. yeah its my journey play many game of mmorpg xD, the end game content its just gacha and grind your char
Different genres tho Genshin is an action rpg with dungeon co op , ToF it’s an mmorpg
But the mainquest for this is boring and all the quest is boring than genshin
@@weiling9624 I'm gonna be honest (and in advance: THIS IS JUST MY OPINION AND HOW I FEEL. THIS IS WHAT I ALONE THINK.):
genshin's story itself, and it's writing, is pretty... linear. And no, im not gonna go into specifics such as "X archon did Y action", or "X happened in Y nation". While the best quest that ADDS to the story (again, my opinion) has so far been Chasm, most of the time before this, all the story has been:
"hi I took care of your problem"
"omigosh tysmmm I am forever indebted to you"
"haha cool, so where's my sis?"
"idk lol"
And sure that the nations events and problems add to it, in the end, its just "your sister is in another nation. probably."
What kept genshin fun for me (burnt out and bored) was literally the gameplay and that alone.
Very curious about this game. Would definitely like to see more
not a fan of the tech aesthetic but it still looks really nice!

CHARACTER CUSTOMISATION!??? Hopefully Genshin will have that someday.
I will definitely try this game as soon as it’s out!
I bet there will be so many people calling this the genshin killer but it makes sense
It's killing itself in CN server.
woaaahh that looks so great already! definitely trying is out as its smooth af (plus im a sucker for character customisations)
wow, this game is very similar to honkai! (not a bad thing, I love honkai lmao) but I feel this game is honestly quite different to genshin and may not compete with genshin, but rather, compete with honkai
What some people don’t realize is that they can enjoy both genshin and ToF
But it is in beta still, so we will see.
if u think genshin is money grabbing u dont know china companies well.Tencent is 10times more money grabbing than mihoyo.literally everything you do will have some microtransaction involved.
@@soonlimbon9301 oh sorry sorry. What I was trying to say is that the gacha was a huge success and the company got a gigantic Revenue out of it. I didn't meant it in a negative sence

Holy shit. This looks really fun. God I wish I signed up for the CBT
This game seems good but for someone that ratheres story based games it's not my thing. It's cool and all but by the look it's mostly battle related, if they make more stories I'll try it when it is actually out since this is a beta I can't judge it too much cuz the actual game might be a lot different
This game is 100% very storybased. Theres so much story and side quests to do
well a game like this is an MMORPG and altho story is important in an MMORPG the real fun of an MMORPG is playing and interacting with other players

i remember there was so much news about TOF literally ripping off other games, which is pretty scummy. reading the comments, most people don’t seem to either mind or they haven’t seen those articles, which i find interesting.
edit: other things to note is that genshin was very generous in their beta, so it’s possible TOF will not remain this generous
also, it seems a lot more similar to honkai than genshin (including the fact that one of their controversies was they ripped off something from honkai directly) with the steampunk vibe, etc. the dodge perfectly time thing, (ultimate evasion) while not unique to honkai, is one of its things as well.
they didn’t copy over the combo or switch mechanic.
personally, i like having multiple characters and not being pressed to stick with one, because i get bored easily of the same designs and playstyles (the second may not be applicable, but the designs are). i hate having to pay what seems to be the primogem equivalent to modify, but it makes sense that they’d use that as a bonus way to get cash
Im one of those who dont mind cause i legit cant find any more fun games to play
