its like a mix of Genshin and Honkai but feels more like a Honkai competitor than Genshin. The combat and enemies look the same, time fracture and red marker on the ground is basically Honkai, this just looks more polished. As expected from a publisher thats been caught copying Hoyoverse in almost every aspect
Its mmorg, period, far from genshin. N they did not just copy hoyoverse, they copy many things from many other games that is so funny they think others wont find out, mostly japan mmorpg/rpg and even PGR and BOTW
@@traincore1955 nope, they r no threat at all, they immediately became a joke after they release in cn, thats why they r rushing to release globally, so they can see how much money they can get from plyrs outside cn😂
People calling this a Genshin clone feels similar to how people called Genshin a BOTW clone. In fact, I'd say it has more similarities with Honkai with the aesthetics but even then, it's still its own thing.
I agree there but I still wouldn't compare Tower of fantasy to Honkai or genshin yes they have alot of things Alike they t good games to but Tower of fantasy is a mmorpg
Thank you for saying this tbh, like I don't see many people saying this really, I see more talking as if this game needs to be a "genshin killer" or whatever, like why does it have to kill genshin in the first place lol, just enjoy both and why does genshin needs to die anyways? Sure it's not in a very good place rn with huge flaws but i'll keep playing it every now and then and as an alternative like you said I'll play ToF for most of the time, for genshin I would still like to be here to see sumeru, natlan and all that stuff or even the end of the story ig, the devs prob won't fix it's basic problems like resin or rewards any time soon so yes as an alternative you can just play this instead, looks more fun than genshin imo, as of now at least, genshin is just a log in for 10 minutes and leave and then you can go simply play ToF
@@bennydesu5807 its not like people want Genshin to die, but more like people want Genshin to have at least a competitor (like this game) so that the devs (Hoyoverse) will step up their game and move out from their comfort zone. Because it seems like they're not listening much to the playerbase and only doing whatever they want
You know what even though I won't play ToF. I will say Tof is a Genshin killer to make Mihoyo nervous and they focus more on the new characters to impress the consumer.
Probably ToF's target players are those who enjoy character customizations; who are into MMOs/playing co-op; those who are competitive and play PvP; and those who enjoy more of a combat-focused gameplay than lore-focused. We know, some of GI players are looking for those options so nice move to the devs for making such a game. It would be a matter of preference of gameplay now, so for me there wouldn't be "ToF/GI is better than GI/ToF" bs. We all know that GI is PvE, lore-focused, and follows more of a classic RPG play style. Those are the big differences between the two. And some just wants thrill while playing. Some just wants peace. I guess lol Tho let me commend devs of both games for coming up w such wonderful games. and for opening the gates of gacha hell to all of us
Yeah despite the companies horrible decisions when it comes to marketing I do hope they succeed. I won't be playing tho since I'm not interested in MMO, to many bad memories with it. It would help to cater to players who want more action and find GI content lacking. Though I doubt people will be nice to just move on without attacking each other for which game is better, I've already seen the arguments it's pretty dumb for the most part
Yeah I find the Genshin comparison to be laughable when it's introducing those MMO elements... it's a different audience, aka not me. The people who are drooling over this and the people who are skeptical are often coming at it from opposite angles.
Yeah, GI focus more on PvE. In early version, the limited time events encouraged co-op but nowsaday, their limited event are mostly playable in solo mode. The question would be how easily obtain character, weapon, equipment and whatever else plus the ingame currency especially for gacha. F2P game is more expensive than fully paid game when it come to gacha and collect everything. At least, GI paid money has very few skin, most spend for character constellation and weapon plus few probably spend the battlepass for limited namecard and furniture. Other gacha game have lot of diverse price range for skin, weapon, character and even vehicle/familiar including new skin. Some game required something equal to primogems to buy furniture so they could customize dormitories. ToF, I give it a try if it mobile phone playable since I am very, very terrible when it come to pc control. It remind me a bit of Phantasy Star Online.
What's the most interesting about this game is the variation of weapons, character models, attack patterns, and enemies. I think this game will not feel repetitive when you played it for a while.
I mean even if is not a genshin killer (which I feel like it isn't gonna be), at least it's something to do while you're out of resin. It's basically like starting genshin for the first time but different. It's also free so why not...
But srsly tho, ToF is a mmorpg so i dont even see how can it compare with genshin to begin with its literally 2 diff things, its just another cash grabing game. And not much youtubers r exposing this game in the west community.
@@Vynter98 here is the thing, if it doesn’t compete with Genshin, then what game does it compete with? It cannot compete with other MMORPGs because most mmorpg players will not even look at this game. Majority of those interested in it are Genshin players but at the same time, a big Genshin player base has most of the players not interested in MMORPGs.
@@rambii. True. I have the early open Beta too. It seems to be like genshin but it isnt at all. After few hours i stop to compare it with Genshin. I think most Genshin players think its just a copy of it.😅

I just hope they look at Tower of Fantasy and then realize a lot of players love avatar customization. I really wish I could use that festival mask, or change around the Traveler’s clothes
It looks like a good one. It actually amazes me how far gacha games have progressed. They went from TCG style games like FGO and Azure Lane to games that compete with pay games like Genshin Impact. Who knows maybe in a few years FF XIV will even get a run for it's money with F2P gachas.
Thank you for the review. It felt really genuine and not influenced by sponsorships. I will continue to play only Genshin, but I support you playing and covering this game too. What keeps me playing Genshin is its casual-friendliness and freedom from stress, but there are other people who want more endgame contents and bragging rights from Genshin, so I'm glad this game can fit their needs.
Part of the reason that drew me to Genshin (and a huge reason I still play it every day, a full year later) is that everything within the world of the game drives the narrative. Every element is story-driven and dynamic. The combat feels meaningful. Leveling up characters and weapons for better team synergy feels meaningful. As much as I love to button mash on occasion, nothing has better long-term payout than lore-driven game play. Even if I end up skipping most of the text, I know whatever quest, team comp, weapon ascension, artifact farming has meaning. And that's super special and rare within a game that gets frequent updates, let alone an F2P
Gacha gamer is not doing endgame content. You don't win by mashing button. He is doing the equivalent of using Amber in the open world. Just because it works, it is not representative of the entirety of the combat.
"Leveling up characters and weapons for better team synergy feels meaningful" I'm sorry, what? You mean as they have some kind of text attached to them and some place for it in the lore? Is that the definition of meaningful to you? Genshin leveling/farming system is atrocious, you can literally get a character from lvl 1 to 90 in seconds and once you have some somewhat decent artifacts there's literally no point in leveling up/farming anymore until the meta changes in about 6 months.
@@pontoancora updates are too slow because they are a friggin million dollar company. edit: they act as if they're an indie company edit2: showering us with their recycled mini game events just to keep us busy.
I really like Tower of Fantasy, I like the graphics and I like how there are so many new and fun things to explore and understand in this game... obviously down the line people will get bored of it but currently... I'm sure we all will enjoy it
The game looks good, however I agree that it looks "floaty", and the combat animations look a bit awkward at time. They should probably work on visual effect of gravity and cause and effect reaction if they want to make it look less cheap. Other than the combat system, I would be interested to know if there's anything else that you can do in the open world, and what you think of the main storyline (if there is one).
There is a main storyline which brings you from area to area and helps you transistion from "area of work" to another. There is tons of chests (Supply Pots) to find, and some of them drop minigames ("Dream Maschines"). Some overworld quests are little minigames as well (i.e. there is a kid that will race you to give you a small reward). Aside from that is a lot of options for grinding, because there are an absolute shitton of mets: Suppressor (= Traveler costellation Pro), Equipment (Artifacts strictly for your base stats), Weapons, Matrixes (Artifacts for your individual weapons) - and I probably forgot something. You can do these alone, or join random teams; you can also just put down an automatic collector that will expire after 24ish hours and send you loot via in-game mail. And then there are world bosses. Those are fun since you rarely fight them alone!
The main story line feels like a bad adaptation of a book. They skip a lot (if not all) of the setup and jump straight into the action, but it makes the action feel meaningless story wise. It also makes some parts super cheesy and the relationships between the mc and other characters often makes no sense. So rip on that lol. The combat animations are not the animations I think look awkward, they look pretty nice usually. There are a large amount of animations that have to do with general travel that just do not exist, cut each other off in weird ways, or just feel really jittery. For example, if you tap forward and backward your character will just spin in idle, there isnt a stopping animation for walking so your feet just slide around on the ground, whenever you start walking (or I guess jogging technically) it usually feels too sudden, and whenever you finish climbing and start walking right away it will interrupt the "stand up" animation. I could go on and on, but I dont know if you want to read all that lol. I'll send it to the developers instead haha. But really? no dismount animation, the mount just vanishes? xD The open world is super content rich, Ingwie Phoenix went into that, and in terms of aesthetic they have some parts that look really nice as well compositionally, and they have some pretty alright looking effects for day/night coloring. Its not very detailed and some places look a lot cooler than others but what do you expect from a mobile mmo game without a huge budget. Btw, just to throw a little shade, I'm pretty sure it looks floaty because you literally float in thee air while attacking. ya know xD
@@quanwang4562 It being on mobile might have more of an effect on the quality than it being an mmo, but its likely that they both have quite an effect on it. As well at budget, production time, and it just not being done yet.
This looks really cool but is there like a story quest, lores, backstories etc. In this game? I dont like to just kill enemies and explore all day. What I really love about genshin and why I play it because of the Stories, lores, plot.
Yes there are story quests and side quests in the game, kind of like genshin where you go through the quest to open the maps. I've played the CN version for a few days when it launched and enjoyed it quite a bit, but due to it being a hassle to log in on the CN ver I stopped and decided to wait for the global release.
This looks really cool ngl and I like the fact that they have a completely different charm than genshin which is nice The combat looks a lot more action based like character action game such as DMC or Bayonetta and there are a lot of fancy move and attack while Genshin is focused more in character synergy and reaction (combo/combination) Also Genshin is a lot more polished, it is a game where you will get immersed in the world, characters, and story while this game looks like it is focused a lot more in the gameplay aspect and combat where you don't give much fuck about anything else.
I think tower of fantasy would face more challenges than genshin because of the gacha system. Genshin main attraction is to sell characters' design and story while ToF is mainly gacha on equipment+outfit. it's not going to be a problem for genshin if genshin have their main story delayed because in the filler we got to see certain characters that we normally don't see in the main story and it's a nice welcome. While ToF in to not become stagnant, had to convince every player that the game is so fun and there's a lot of things to do until the next update arrive. If you notice the system in ToF is actually almost the same with God Eater (i only know this game lol) except GE is not a gacha game and a completed game. GE won't become stagnant until the main story ends while for ToF is quite likely to become stagnant if they didn't have what it takes to convince players to stay.
True but I think they did it a really smart way because the outfits are more characters that are skin. Like you aren't making your own character and putting them in a dress that comes with the weapon you're changing them entirely to match a character. So I think it'll work in that regard. Plus it solves the issue of genshin where you have to roll twice to get the character AND their matching weapon.
A package deal that comes with versatile character self design, and presets of character than comes with weapons the jumps double jumps no stamina exploration, unique weapon abilities, and skins! Honestly I think this would be and amazing on mobile and Nintendo switch this feels more versatile than Genshin hopefully it becomes mobile and I can paly both
Gacha with pvp is actually fine as long as it's not the main thing of the gacha itself. Where raids should always have more rewards than pvp and pvp's rewards is just a 1/6 of the raid.
What I like more about Genshin Impct: The combat system, the characters, lots of lore, better animations, but the character editor, the dash and double jump and the map design are better in Tower of Fantasy. I personally like Genshin better, but Tower of Fantasy is only in beta and can get even better! I wouldn't call the game a Genshin Killer but possibly a good rival (apart from that, tower of fantasy sometimes took too much inspiration and the gacha system of pulling skins is kinda weird)
@@chaitanyamore8786 whats wrong with liking mobile games? They recently got better because phones having better ram and graphic chips (idk what they called). Plus genshin (and probably tower of fantasy) is more of a console and pc game because of how big it is lol
I'm playing the CBT on mobile and I'd be a liar if I said I was impressed. I'd really encourage people to try it for themselves when it comes out and form their own opinion, especially cause mine seems to be the minority lol But on mobile, for me it's not nearly as smooth or fluid as Genshin. The bow weapon I got with the character Bai Ling? Love it cause it does good damage, unlike in Genshin. Buuut....it also whiffs like mad. I have to be right up on the enemies in order for the game to register that I am in fact shooting at them, not the air. And even then it still messes up. Then there's the very not good story. If you can even call it that because it's just all over the place, which is a big thing for me because I'm a story-driven gamer. I like being immersed in a games lore and world building and this game has next to none. But lastly, I'd like to remind everyone that this is a closed beta test and often times gacha games are VERY generous here because they literally have to be. How else are people going to test things? I hope they don't change much unless they can handle the backlash but also try to keep your expectations a little low. I WANT this game to succeed, even though I myself don't care much for it. And I definitely don't want my fellow gamers to get ripped off or disappointed in any way.

The thing that appealed to me without genshin is the aesthetic of using fantasy and old culture magic. This game focus more on futuristic astethic which may not appeal to other people
Yeah genshin feels like a fun vacation for me. I hate futuristic and especially the dubstep music attached to it lol. That's why I was never hyped up with Cyberpunk, I'd rather have another Elder scroll game lol.
It looks super fun but I wish there's a systematic power system like how genshin has elements, the raid dungeons and pvps really hooked me I wish genshin had that
I'm hoping this si better than genshin and doesn't feel like an endless cycle that's just chores with rehashed content and boring stories. It took me too long to realise that and I seriously want an alternative that's actually fun.
What Genshin needs are qol updates like crazy This game looks cool but I'm not ready for another open world game. There's just too much and I've already played too many
I’m gonna spend an hour in character customization just to switch it to Zero when I get him. Especially because they will let us pick a free ssr but I can’t help myself.
@@Cqlvinnn Not MMORPG, gacha games. They strive off of people spending money on them, and they give stuff for free on a regular basis, but not a lot. It depends. I'd say Genshin is below average to average. ToF seems to be on the more generous side.
While the game looks decent, it doesn't look as fluid as Genshin. Also, I can't support a company with a history of blatant plagiarism (trailers, copying Zhongli's gameplay). So, I think I will wait for Arknights Endfield and Honkai Star Rail.
Well if you supported Genshin so far, I don't know why wouldn't you support ToF. Genshin at its root is nothing but BOTW+DMC with wifus.... Plus miHoYo keeps stealing stuff from DMC to this day... Have Ayaka, Keqing? Vergil sends his best regards. Play the DMC series and you'll see that lots of the mobs you face in Genshin come from there... Just saying but. HoYoVerse ain't no saint... They just have power/money to shut down scandals and stuff like that...
I don’t think they copied from zhongli gameplay but I do kno they copied assets from honkai impact. Also thigh CN version was rushed a lot and apparently the developers are planing to change and improve ToF for global release.
I'm loving that you can customize your character. Getting character skins and weapons in one pull. Gameplay looks interesting too. I'm going through Genshin burnout rn so I'll def check this one out on release.
I mean genshin this days don't really have much to do, so while u waiting for resin or new event or new character release, u can enjoy ur time playing this game and also mihoyo new game call honkai star rail, basically we won't have to be only tie to genshin, we can take our time and spend ur free time with games, maybe some people will like genshin more, people usual say that 'oh this game gonna kill that game when it release' but tbh it never did no matter how good a game is, it will never kill another game, not every game is meant for everyone
Gameplay looks good, however you didn't comment on the story. Genshin's story and characters are all pretty great, if this game wants to compete with Genshin it needs to have at least half the charm Genshin's characters have.
You say that but in reality it just needs to have better systems and not be as stingy as mihoyo. A lot of people are playing a game to play it, and not to watch it.
@@ch1dd i disagree. human beings love CHARACTERS. one of the reasons genshin got as popular as it did was because it had the ability to create a fandom around the characters. of course it was a great game, but story telling is important to a lot of people. personally i think characterization and visuals are equally as important as gameplay.
@@alejandrosantos5328 You disagree, but nothing you said takes away from what I said. You need gameplay to use the characters on, so of course, both have their importance. The only change I think they need is to allow automatic skin swapping when you weapon swap to the character that own it if the person toggles it (if it's not in the game already, I'm not in the beta so idk). The rest is all about standing where mihoyo fails, with structural things and respecting the playerbase. They already have a lot of different features that look like were included in the game because they're fun ideas, that's a step mihoyo fails to take most times because they shot themselves in the foot with some early mechanics, and now they're forever stuck adding annoying mechanics to undermine those.
Those of us who tried it in China this game is more generous with the gacha as far as gacha I mean. Literally, if you play as F2P you will make it to the pity easily and most likely you can get the character from that banner without paying a dime. I say this because I've been playing it in Chinese servers for a month.
Ah, finally - the guy whose sponsor spot got me into the CBT! =) Yep, you are the reason I too am enjoying the game. I really enjoy ToF - unless I have to go into any menu. Seriously, if ToF were to pick one thing to "borrow" from Genshin, then please let that be the menuing... The entire backpack UI feels extremely experimental and far too nested, let alone that Suppressor, Relics and Vehicles have their own menus. And, there are no keyboard shortcuts to open some of the menus from in-game like the Rewards page for the daily login and such. That said, the combat is AMAZING. It's basically Honkai's, but even more versatile, in a way. Even traveling through the world is quite fun because jumping, gliding, sprinting can all go together to make a nice chain of movement options so you get from A to B fast. At this point I rarely teleport anymore because it's too much fun to just go around. That said, whenever I go into Genshin, I die due to fall damage at least once a day now XD But, as you said, the two are hardly the same. Spontaneous cooperation can happen quite often in this game. While you do most of the things yourself and its optional, it does feel nice to see another face every now and then or help someone out when you see them struggling somewhere. Kinda cool! I am looking forward to playing this with my friends and having a blast together because my friend has been trying to get me into FF14 soley for the MMO aspect. Tower has that too, but a much more lightweight system than a "real" MMORPG but has enough complexity that you can spend a lot of time in it. But seriously, the menus... x.x It's not Honkai-level madness, but not far off either.
FYI the character give ability though, you can give them some gift to max the affinity, and awaken the passive ability to activate it, just check the hide simulacra appearance so you didn't need to use the skin to activate the passive
It looks so beautiful (and it’s only beta). imagine when it’s not beta anymore. and i really like that your pity continues even if you get a 5* (or whatever you call the 5*s) along the way. that’s so cool!
1:12 "I'm spamming a single mouse button here and I am getting this awesome animations", this is what we call gameplay?! And what about the story? Gameplay looks more like an MMO to me. You've been surrounded be a large group of enemies, rather than running away you surround them instead. In Genshin if you saw a ruin guard pretty early in the game you will be astonished by how tanky it is, also the eye of storm had a mini-game mechanics while fighting it that feels like a boss in itself. IMO Honky APHO has much better gameplay than ToF, it's not open world but the rush I get while battling enemies is there.
@@ahmadraif9989 mobile game industry is filled with png gacha games ever since its existence. Only Mihoyo changed the status quo when they released Honkai Impact 3rd. Even until now, I don't think Vgame nor Punishing Gray Raven can do better. This just reminded me of Eden what they call it of a clown game.
Can you make an objective comparison to genshin video review? Combat can be a hit or miss, it looks nice. Is it more forgiving for a free player? Is the gacha system more predatory than Genshin? Is the Co-Op better?
I'm still playing and enjoying genshin but I do agree that it's kind of lukewarm without endgame contents. Heck if they make abys to a higher level than 12, I'm all for it. Just something to do in between events. I'm sure they would once we have more regions and more enemies.
it looks good, the both of the games r good at their own. I wish I could try it :/ Honestly I hope they can make the skin optional to use while u can use the customizable mc
for me it really depend on how polish the game when release, I saw Genshin in beta and it look and feel just fine, but it final product exceed my expectation by much, as ToF to be honest this still feel and look really rough
It reminds me in beta version of Genshin, the elemental towers used to be model boxes. 😅 But then mate, it also recalls me that some characters kit have been totally thrown out of the window. Specifically saying- Ayaka's surprise attack. Also might be noteworthy to mention that Genshin beta used to have clear water colouration (as in open world rivers and lake), it was much more beautiful than the official release. Can we really put speculation that release will be better than beta?
@@Nozomi_kun well yeah I have to agree with the last line, but majority of the game really are getting more polished that when it in beta, seems like polished is more suitable than better in this conversation. and for Ayaka just want to add that even yes she's missing something from the beta, the final product really speak its quality, Ayaka in my opinion is the most well designed character they released haha
Great video! Competition is required for companies to strive towards a greater product. An example would be Intel vs AMD, however at the end of the day companies exist to make money.
I think the outfit the MC have actually have a meaning like the flower of Khen'rieh and when you use elements like geo, electro and anemo you see the change in the outfit. I personally like genshin more so i ain't gonna leave it any time soon 😌
The characters do have special passives. Increasing friendship with them unlocks more passives when you use the character as a cosmetic. It's a f2p system so no money needed go increase their friendship. The character using their own weapon has a special animation too much like Genshin.
doesn't it bother you the slight jank or jerkiness to the combat? Maybe i'm overly concerned but it really ruins my enjoyment. I get the combat wants to be faster but it just feels unrealistic or even budget, like it can be both fast and smooth imo. Also I hate that the enemies flash every time you hit them like bruh.
That cube thing...is like summoning pillars like Zhongli, yes. But it's also like Memory of Dust catalyst and especially how it stacks some floating rocks and shoots them at the enemy is like Ningguang. Hehee...HoYo, you're probably in danger right now. This game is starting to look fun.
The game does look like they have a stronger MMO feel compare to Genshin (you don't have a lot of reasons to use coop, when you can solo the content instead). The fact that you can do aerial and jump (?) attacks got my attention, like other action games. Genshin feel very grounded in that regard.
@@maricchichie3987 Yeah, which is fair! Plus the game is balanced around the grounded battle system (as in no aerial attacks, flying attacks). People likely feel like ToF is more "fun", since the combat design usually include those moves like other games.
The only bit of content you cannot solo in ToF are world bosses. They are designed to be difficult. Even with people using maxed out weapons and endgame gear can't solo them. Hell I had +25 legendary armor with decent enough stats and would get 2 shot by a world boss. This part is not like Genshin.
@@ParafrostV I genuinely would enjoy this. One part of the MMO/multiplayer aspect is teaming up with players and do raids. So teaming up against world bosses is up my alley.
Ive been playing Genshin since launch and Tower since west launch and here is my conclusion. Gacha system: ToF is a lot more giving compared to genshin, pity system doesent reset even if you get a "5star" before 80 pity and you can even buy 2 "constelations" per week. End Game: ToF has a ton of it (weekly: Fracture, Void raid, "abyss tower whit 300 floors", Wormholes) compared to every 2 weeks abyss in Genshin. And to be honest the only aspect where Genshin is way better is graphics and music and the combat is more smoth but so far ToF look way better that what i tought.

I think that’s the reason they are expanding globally. Up until this point the game is losing players daily, so maybe going global is a way to go because there are people interested in it globally. But here the thing, the game isn’t going to be popular globally either, for several reasons
Genshin combat is pretty rinse and repeat combo elements over and over. Tof has so many more options for everything. Side note, ene is my fave character to use.
I played 1 day and while there is some cool systems and combat is kinda fun, this game lacks one thing in particular a soul. This game is pretty, but it lacks any real charm or identity. It ends up feeling like a hodgepodge of games already out there. It's almost as if they just threw every Gacha at the wall to see what would stick. The world, area, and enemies all feel so uninspired or outright ripped off. Like for example, the story is not interesting to me unlike say, Genshin. That being said, maybe it gets better, but ultimately this game won't reach the heights in production value and polish present in Genshin imo.

@@evilyohoverse150 LOL. I'll just wait for you to complain the same thing with Genshin in ToF. They literally follow the same path. Content wise, the game is still in beta to even critique about how much content they have but I bet you it's the same with Genshin. Thank you for saying this tbh, like I don't see many people saying this really, I see more talking as if this game needs to be a "genshin killer" or whatever, like why does it have to kill genshin in the first place lol, just enjoy both and why does genshin needs to die anyways? @@bennydesu5807 its not like people want Genshin to die, but more like people want Genshin to have at least a competitor (like this game) so that the devs (Hoyoverse) will step up their game and move out from their comfort zone. TOF is an mmo while genshin is solo play. I tend to dislike mmos bc it feels awkward playing with other ppl
Big COPE
I guess lol
Tho let me commend devs of both games for coming up w such wonderful games. and for opening the gates of gacha hell to all of us
Yeah despite the companies horrible decisions when it comes to marketing I do hope they succeed.
The people who are drooling over this and the people who are skeptical are often coming at it from opposite angles.
best comment out there.
An ideal game would be Genshin lore and world building with ToF combat and end game contents.
Yeah, the resin problem will never end i guess.

Just because it works, it is not representative of the entirety of the combat.
the only problem i see is the updates are too slow.

"Leveling up characters and weapons for better team synergy feels meaningful" I'm sorry, what? You mean as they have some kind of text attached to them and some place for it in the lore? Is that the definition of meaningful to you? The game looks good, however I agree that it looks "floaty", and the combat animations look a bit awkward at time. They should probably work on visual effect of gravity and cause and effect reaction if they want to make it look less cheap.
Other than the combat system, I would be interested to know if there's anything else that you can do in the open world, and what you think of the main storyline (if there is one).
maybe tof is mmo,so it cant not have the same quality as a non-mmo rpg or it willcrash...
Those are fun since you rarely fight them alone!
a youtuber i am following (ChrisBe) is currently uploading a walkthrough of tower of fantasy and there is a story.
But really? no dismount animation, the mount just vanishes? xD
The open world is super content rich, Ingwie Phoenix went into that, and in terms of aesthetic they have some parts that look really nice as well compositionally, and they have some pretty alright looking effects for day/night coloring.

@@Tartaglia06 anime is lot big than 6 to 16 hour story 😂
This looks really cool ngl and I like the fact that they have a completely different charm than genshin which is nice
The combat looks a lot more action based like character action game such as DMC or Bayonetta and there are a lot of fancy move and attack while Genshin is focused more in character synergy and reaction (combo/combination)
Also Genshin is a lot more polished, it is a game where you will get immersed in the world, characters, and story while this game looks like it is focused a lot more in the gameplay aspect and combat where you don't give much fuck about anything else.

It is a mobile game and it's worse than Genshin on mobile. Harder to run, wonky controlls.
I actually recommend using a controller when playing this at mobile
"There will be a PvP in this game"
Well, Adios...
Gacha with PvP shouldn't be a thing.
It's a red flag for me.
Totally
Wait for genshin to introduce PvP, it will be launched sooner or later (maybe in 2-3 years)
You have the option to not play the PvP, just like you have the option to not Co-op
Don't play it then.
I wouldn't call the game a Genshin Killer but possibly a good rival

That said, whenever I go into Genshin, I die due to fall damage at least once a day now XD
But, as you said, the two are hardly the same.
Given how Arknights Endfield would be released next year or so I dont think I'll play this game. But it does looks good.
Try it man when it comes out. It won't hurt you I promise. I don't bite either

In Genshin if you saw a ruin guard pretty early in the game you will be astonished by how tanky it is, also the eye of storm had a mini-game mechanics while fighting it that feels like a boss in itself.

for me it really depend on how polish the game when release, I saw Genshin in beta and it look and feel just fine, but it final product exceed my expectation by much, as ToF to be honest this still feel and look really rough
It reminds me in beta version of Genshin, the elemental towers used to be model boxes. 😅
But then mate, it also recalls me that some characters kit have been totally thrown out of the window.

The game does look like they have a stronger MMO feel compare to Genshin (you don't have a lot of reasons to use coop, when you can solo the content instead).
The fact that you can do aerial and jump (?) attacks got my attention, like other action games. Genshin feel very grounded in that regard.
Thats exactly the charm of genshin imo. Even though it has magic Its still realistic enough to not be ridiculous
@@maricchichie3987 Yeah, which is fair! Plus the game is balanced around the grounded battle system (as in no aerial attacks, flying attacks).
People likely feel like ToF is more "fun", since the combat design usually include those moves like other games.
@@maricchichie3987 "The charm of Genshin"? What charm, being as mediocre as you?

Well they still trying to make the game global even when it got hit from every direction (mostly due to their fault) so i think they're either believing in this game or will just launch it global and be done with it
I think that’s the reason they are expanding globally. Up until this point the game is losing players daily, so maybe going global is a way to go because there are people interested in it globally. But here the thing, the game isn’t going to be popular globally either, for several reasons
Well, Mihoyo abandoned Genshin despite being successful
Genshin combat is pretty rinse and repeat combo elements over and over. Tof has so many more options for everything. Side note, ene is my fave character to use.
Yo GG, your natural voice narration sounds so cool! I do miss the "either way" though XD
That doesn't surprise me to hear. Feels like you can see it in the videos.
