    No need to tip porters in Japan because they are employees, not slaves.

    I will be in Japan a few days before my cruise in may and I plan to use my drone (Dji mini 3 pro) where possible. Princess mentions on their website that drones are in the prohibited item list and cannot be brought onboard. I have no intention of using it on the ship but I have nowhere to leave it for 10 days. Also, I might want to use it during excursions where allowed/possible. So what should I do?

    • @CruiseTipsTV
      @CruiseTipsTV  9 місяців тому +1

      Hey! I am not familiar with drone laws over there but it looks like you have to register it and follow their laws. We don’t travel with drones (gave up years ago) and instead we use 360
      Cameras to get a bit of height and a unique look. Sorry I don’t have more info!

    Do you think the kids club groups you mentioned in your videos with 12 starting for the teen club instead of 13? Or was that unique for your sailing do you think? Looking at summer in Japan.

    Omg. You popped up in my UA-cam feed today as an unexpected delight! Me and my wife did a similar trip to yours in late august/early sept, so just missed you.
    We also stayed at the Hyatt Regency In Yokohama before boarding, and loved the location so close to Chinatown!
    We also flew over from Dallas to Tokyo, but stopped at Disney for 4 nights before coming over to Yokohama.
    We used a car service to transfer between the airport and Disney, then to Yokohama, and then back to the airport once the cruise was over that worked out awesomely for us.
    I posted a slideshow of the highlights of our trip, which I thought was good, but your video is on another level. Very professional, with lots of great info.
    Thanks for posting. Liked and Subscribed!!!

    This must be exciting to travel back! Those excursions look incredible. Who wants to be a stowaway on the ship, I'd rather run off into the mainland. We're sailing to Yokohama from Vancouver next year on HAL, and plan to stay 5 nights at the Hilton Tokyo near Shinjuku after.

    I suggest to anyone that's going to do this cruise to book multiple stop airline ticket. Fly into Osaka 2-3 days prior then take a bullet train the morning of the cruise to Yokohama. After the cruise, stay in Tokyo (its literally next to Yokohama) for a few days before you fly home. This way You will get the best of your time and money. Maybe not Money.

    Great video. Would you say Princess Diamond is the biggest, newest ship that offers cruises in Japan? Also was the ship extremely stable and not swaying? Out of all the summer months, which month is best for Japan in terms of temps?

    For my fellow viewers, do yourselves a favor and learn the culture before visiting. Harmony and not bothering others in the public space is a big cultural value in Japan, they have to fit 125 million people into a country that is not that large. So researching and being a good guest is valuable daily for you as well as the locals. Don't litter, carry a small plastic bag and dispose if it at your hotel. And please be aware there are a lot more privacy laws in Japan about filming so ask at shops/stores first and try not to film people who may not wish to be filmed as they go about their lives. Don't just be a taker roaming the globe.

    Thank you for the great/fun video, Sherry! I’m so happy you and your family had such a great time. We are staying at the Hyatt Regency Yokohama as well, in a few months pre-cruise. We were considering walking to the Celebrity Millennium but you have me wondering if doing that is too far to walk. Do you recall the taxi cost hotel to cruise terminal?
    If you don’t mind me asking- did you happen to complete the Japan Web info prior to your flight to help through customs? If yes, did it really speed things up? No visa is needed when traveling from US- correct? Thank you again!

    • @CruiseTipsTV
      @CruiseTipsTV  Рік тому +1

      How exciting that you’re going on this cruise. You’re going to have an amazing time. If the weather is not hot, the walk is extremely feasible if your luggage is relatively light. The taxi ride was under $15 getting from the hotel to the cruise port. I can’t seem to find my receipt, but I know that it was really cheap and really quick. It was just so incredibly hot that we would’ve been dripping with sweat even if it was a 15 minute walk. Yes we filled out the web registration in advance, and it did save us some time going through customs. They seem to allow you to move ahead in the line a bit if you have already got that forms completed. However, if it’s too much for you, just do it on arrival. No visas for us from the US.

      I brought both a printout and had them on my phone for myself and my wife just because I’m like that . Ultimately either would work. It’s a quick and painless process. If we hadn’t had them it would have taken an extra 2 minutes to go check in on a kiosk and get one. Plus , there were lots of people working by the kiosks to help get through the process. From the time we got off the plane, got luggage and were out the door was less than 10 minutes. Very quick and efficient. Hope you have a great time.
