This was a great workout. Thank you! I still have trouble letting the bounce happen in a controlled way on the left hand. I just have to keep going I suppose. Question - how does this turn into the nice tight doubles that Thomas Lang discusses, where the second hit is louder than the first? Is it just speeding this up that does it? THANKS!
You're looking at a different exercise for that purpose.... practice your doubles slowly where the first is a rebound and the second is an accented snap. The trick is to count them 'a 1 a 2 a 3 a 4' where the quieter rebound is 'a' and the snapped accent is the number. At the slower speeds really get the middle, ring and pinky finger actively involved in the snaps. Snap the stick into the housing of the hand and keep low while the othet hand goes up.
@@VineetontheBeat Happy New Year! How have the double stroked been coming along? I just happened to pass back today and remembered this comment.... so just checking in!
I am not James, but I think that it worth that even in slow tempo, because all of us have different tempo ranges. For him it is 200-260 bpm, but for you it can be even 100-160. Just go on man, I hope you'll beat this shit in original tempo someday ;)
man I love your veidos, teach me alot, but with all respect your presentation is really boring i almost closed your video 2 times bro. But youre great!

@@michaelpersad868 thank you so much for that breakdown! I'll be practicing just that!
No problem Vineet. That should have been '+' 1 '+' 2 '+' 3 '+' 4 rather than 'a'. Hope it is working out for you!

Can I practice this at slow tempo? Is it worth?

Absolutely, you should start doing this below 100bpm and be sure the motions are correct before going higher

Here is a way to bring some excitement to it...try doing it across the kit...two eighth notes per drum!
