My other half made this dish tonight. So good! He's obsessed with your Ninja recipes, so I'm looking forward to many more great dishes! Thanks Louise, keep up the good work.
Hello there... my husband bought me the Ninja Foodi this past Christmas, and even though I was so excited to get it, I was also overwhelmed and a little intimidated by it. Finding your recipes on UA-cam has been a treasure to have. I´ve tried several of your recipes, always turning like expected, and you make it look so easy. I´ve introduced your videos to other friends that own the Ninja Foodi and they agree, your recipes look easy and delicious. Thank you so much for all your excellent work. I can´t wait to try the Asian pulled pork next!! You need a recipe book published!!!!!
Thank you so much! I'm blushing for sure right now! I am working on a cookbook, but it is only in the infancy stages. Here is my website that also has my recipes in written form. thesaltedpepper.com
I was also intimidated. I got it as a gift this mother's day. I found you right away and tried a few of your recipes already. Thank you so much. I never dreamed I would ever be able to manipulate this ninja. Raising 2 grandkids takes alot of time, pots and pans lol. You've made things so much easier. You're a blessing.
Omg! This is so good! Make it at least once a week with different variations! Always with pineapple but I’ve changed the protein! Also with different vegetables! Kale, broccoli, mushrooms, so delicious!
Definitely trying this one..., thanks for the video, your videos are always so easy to follow, I made the spaghetti recipe you have, it turned out amazing!!!
That's a really clever technique using air crisp instead of day old rice. One thing I like to do is use a mix of soy sauce and oyster sauce in my fried rice. I find that it really deepens the flavor and can replace the salt used elsewhere. Thanks again for the recipe!
I haven't tried oyster sauce, but I do use fish sauce and I bet they do the same kind of thing. It really adds a great depth of flavor. I don't use it too much in recipes because most people don't want to use it. Fish sauce stinks to high heaven!
Thank you! I'm still working on getting organized enough to tackle a cookbook! I also need to improve my photography skills. I want to get started asap on it!
Looks good. I have pineapple to use up and think this would be good with spam as well for a Hawaiian feel. Here’s to today’s lunch. Thanks for the great videos.
I love making fried rice but I have never added anything sweet like pi neapple to it. I am looking forward to trying this recipe. Thanks so much for sharing it with all of us. :)
Loved making this recipe! I have to say this tasted so close to the egg fried rice we eat at restaurants. Only thing is that I didn’t add the ham and pineapples, so my rice were quite low on salt. At what point should I be adding the salt so that it gets absorbed by the rice? Also, my rice was a little undercooked but I fixed that later by adding some water and letting it cook on very low heat at the end.
Looks amazing and so easy! If I want to make simple chicken fried rice, do you recommend I cook the chicken separately and then, add to the rice similar to when you add the ham and pineapple? Since not using pineapple, do I need more liquid? Assume the pineapple lets out juice... Thank you!
Yes, I would cook the chicken first to be safe. I don't think you need to change the liquid amount, the pineapple really didn't give off that much liquid.
ellen kudron sure, you can make it ahead of time. Then just add your rice and the other ingredients (except eggs) and use sear sauté to heat through. Add eggs and continue with the rest of the instructions
Thank you! I am going to make rice today, and do the rest tomorrow for supper! I just love you! I am goi g to buy your fall cookbook, but what exactly is the difference between them? And are these all new recipes?
All the cookbooks have the same recipes, the difference is in the extra features and content. On my website, there are descriptions of each one and also an entire list of recipes. There are a few that aren't new, but the majority are never seen before recipes.
Would it be possible to use frozen deveined shrimp in this? Can you advise how I would do it? Thank you so much for doing these videos, we haven't gone out for fast food in 2 weeks thanks to our Foodi and your videos!
I would thaw the shrimp and add them in towards the end of the cooking time. They will only take a few minutes to cook. Glad you are enjoying the recipes!
I think you can double it without any issue, but since you are doubling the liquid as well as the other ingredients, the time to pressure will be greater and that is cook time. I would decrease the PC time by 1 minute (set to zero minutes) and maybe do a natural release of 1-2 minutes.
I love your quick and easy recipes...love all your recipes and hard work you put in.....the only comment is in the beginning picture of this vlog is one of a bowl of fried rice with chopsticks stuck in it...just so you know that is considered bad luck and disrespectful to stick any utensil upright in any bowl of food. We would always put in laying across the top of the bowl or next to the bowl on the table. The only time we ever have anything upright in a bowl of food is when we offer food to the dead. Just to let you know, but you recipes are really wonderful. Thank you
I heard that from someone else and I really need to take a new picture. I had the hardest time with that photograph and of course I had no idea that I was being disrespectful. Thanks for reminding me because I had forgotten about the comment. I will make the recipe again and redo the pictures. Much love ~ Louise
I would double everything, but lower the time by 1 minute to account for the increase time to pressure due to the increased volume. If you don't double the salt, then salt to taste. Especially if you are using spam or a saltier ham (I think you posted on FB about using spam).
I don't have a Foodi yet. I am considering it. The steam release scares me though, especially if my kids use it. Are these your recipes or recipes from a Ninja Foodi cookbook? I am enjoying your videos!
Thank you so much! These are my recipes that I create for my website. thesaltedpepper.com I can understand the nervousness about the steam release, but as long as you do it correctly there really isn't anything to worry about. I would not let young kids do it without supervision because it is important that you stay away from the steam as it's released. The steam is pretty hot. so you definitely don't want to put your face in it. You can watch me do the pressure test if you want to see how it's done.
OK, I used your recipe to try and make fried rice in my Nina Foodi. Instead of using 1 cup of water, I used 1 cut of chicken broth. After the one minute of pressure cooking, the rice came out hard - under cooked. Was that because I used broth instead of water?
Hmmm. Did you rinse the rice and use the same rice I did? The chicken broth shouldn't make that much of a difference, honestly. Thicker liquids might, but I wouldn't think chicken broth would. Did you add the oil in? At one minute the rice is not completely cooked, that happens during the air frying process. Did you have liquid left after the one minute? This is the first time I've heard this feedback on the recipe and I'd love to figure out where it went wrong for you.
@@TheSaltedPepper I did indeed rinse the rice, and I used Jasmine rice as you did in the video. And I did use the sesame oil as you suggested. No liquid left after the one minute.
True fried rice does not have carrots or peas that's the American version. My husband Asian. Actually when you clean the rice you are getting rid of the starch. Not keeping it together.
I bet it doesn't have ham and pineapple either! LOL! I'd love to know the seasonings used in an authentic fried rice, this one is definitely an American version! It's good though and I love the touch of sweetness that peas add, so I use them every time I make friend rice.
I am so glad you decided to stop showing you cutting up everything! You got really upset with me the last time I texted you and I never watched you again until tonight. FINALLY, you are making it worth watching by NOT showing you cut up everything. We all know how to chop and most of us have been cooking for years and just want to see how you do it in the Ninja. So, thanks for just getting to the point and saving everyone the long drawn out cutting episodes. BORING! Now I will watch more of your shows since no one else seems to want to watch the Ninja Foodi stuff. Seems like everyone wants to watch Jeff cooking with the Instapot because he doesn't make a big deal out of chopping and cutting. BUT, one of his first shows was about the Ninja Foodi and he loved it. Guess he was in bed with them so he had to stop showing it. Anyway, thanks for just getting to the point for us who could care less about watching paint dry cutting up stuff......Danny
This was the first thing I made after ordering my Ninja. It tasted DIVINE. Thank you for the great content.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ma'am your cooking is mesmerising
This rice came out so delicious! I made it for Sunday brunch. All family enjoyed it. Thank you so much for easy and delicious recipe .
My pleasure 😊
Making this tonight with some chicken and shrimp instead of ham and pineapple! Love all your recipes and watching your videos , thank you very much!
Hope you enjoy it!
