Hey Thank you for sharing this. I just got my ninja foodie XL and was looking for a recipe for cooking chicken and rice and yours was very helpful for my first time so thanks so much .
thanks for helping me out on cooking my chicken i have the same model but got the single rack, will have to cook the chicken first then the rice. thanks again friend
Very nice looking meal there Scott. Both chicken and rice cooked to perfection in the one pot. When it comes time to retire my ninja foodi, I'll be looking at stepping up to this one or the next generation. Thanks for the demonstration. Cheers 👍🤤😀
I made almost this exact meal last night for dinner. I used frozen broccoli for my vegetable with my rice. I added a couple of packets of the chicken flavor that comes with Ramen noodles (my kids eat theirs with butter and parmesan cheese so I always have these). I didn't use the foil. I think the chicken drippings add a nice flavor. I used the thermometer that comes with the unit and set it for chicken. My only problem was my barbecue sauce burned even more than yours. I may add it a few minutes after the crisping starts next time or use a different seasoning.
I believe you may have used a bbq sauce with a greater sugar content than his. Just like a rub you treat meat for the grill with, rubs (or sauces) with greater amounts of sugar are going to create a blacker bark (burn faster). Some like that, some do not. Try cutting your bbq sauce with applecider vinegar or just white distilled vinegar. When i do this, I use a dry rub on my chicken for seasong and then let each person in my family dress it with bbq sauce how they prefer after it's been plated.
Made this with new potatoes and whole carrots, no foil needed on the bottom rack. Set for 16 minutes and everything was perfectly cooked! Used 1 1/2 cups of chicken stock instead of water and made some delicious gravy with the drippings.
Looks real good. Must try it for myself. I have the Speedi which appears to be very similar machine in features except exclusion of pressure cooking facility
Looks like i have plans for dinner now. Thanks for the instructions. I guess my question is...do you really need the foil? I would think the juices dripping into the rice would only add flavor. Any thoughts?
The Smartlid is not advertised as rapid but I believe the Smartlid and the Speedi are basically the same machine. The speedi is 6.5 qt and the smartlid is 8 qt. but have similar features using steam and air fry to create fast meals.
Your recipe is awesome and will go very high.of course it will be very tasty to eat.😋 I love it .I will definitely try it.You will tell me in the comments. How do you like my recipe?Thanks......👍🍀💢🍂

That looks delicious!! 🤤
Uncle Roger is crying because you didn't wash your rice Haiye!
Poor Uncle....
Hahaha 🤣 😂😂😂
I have the ninja foodi deluxe pressure cooker. Which option should I use ?
Did your machine come with a thermometer that has to go inside it?
No my model does not have a thermometer. I will be testing a wireless one soon.
What can we use to marinate the chicken if we don't like barbecue sauce ?
Looks like i have plans for dinner now. Thanks for the instructions. I guess my question is...do you really need the foil? I would think the juices dripping into the rice would only add flavor. Any thoughts?
So was it 15 minutes in total or 2 x 15 minutes?
Make sure u wash ur rice next time until the water is clear
Thanks for the tip😀
Is this a rapid cooker like ninja speedi?

I'm struggling to pick between the speedi and this smartlid🥲.
