How to Make Waterproof Stickers on a Cricut | Die Cut Stickers with Cricut Print and Cut
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
- Follow along as we show you how to make die cut stickers with the new Cricut offset feature. That's right - Cricut now makes it easy to put an outline around your stickers with offset in Design Space. We used a laser printer to make our stickers, cut the stickers on the Cricut maker and then laminated our stickers to make them waterproof stickers.
Making waterproof stickers may seem daunting, but it's not with the Cricut. Whether you have the Cricut Explore Air 2 or the Cricut Maker, you can easily make die cut stickers that are waterproof. And while we use a laser printer to make our print and cut stickers, you can also use an inkjet printer. The key to making stickers waterproof is to laminate them with Oracal 651.

I want to share a joke my 7 year told me: What did the coach say to the vending machine? Give me my quarter back.
Haha - that’s awesome! 🏈
Tell your boy that is HILARIOUS 😂😂☠️☠️
😂😂 cute Good one 👏
I didn't even think about turning the offset to basic cut and contouring. Thank you for that tip
Thanks so much for checking out our channel! Glad we could help!
I have probably watched 10+ videos about how to make stickers and I want to share that the other 9 left me with too many questions (info overload) and not easy to follow. Your video was easy to listen to, clear instructions and to the point! I made my first stickers today and they turned out exactly as they were suppose to! New subscriber, THANK YOU!
Thank you! We appreciate such positive feedback. It's very nice to hear🤩
I've watched so many tutorials on making stickers with cricut, but yours is the FIRST one that actually made sense and walked through the steps. Thanks!

@@JustMightDIY Incredibly helpful! Thank you!
My husband draws little people and characters. I can't wait to make stickers with them. I have made a few from design space so I know most of what you showed but I have not used all of them, but now I know why you have to flatten them and how to use the contour feature. I have a feeling I will be subscribing to more than just Cricut Design Space. Just imagine!
Sounds like you're going to have so much fun. If you post any pictures on Instagram tag us @justmightdiy
Very simple way to follow directions. Thanks!!🎉
Glad it was helpful!
Exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you so much for making it so easy. Just created my first 2 full sticker sheets in under 10 minutes with your help. Thanks again.
Oh yay! Thanks so much for letting us know. We’re so glad to hear that this worked for you. Happy sticker making!
@@JustMightDIY how do you get the kisscut?
@@whitney24100 Hey! You’d reduce the pressure. You will want to test this with small shapes until you find the exact settings for the materials you use. Hope this helps!

I've been having such a rough time with having my stickers cut all the way through BUT I think your video is my saving grace! I'll post an update by another comment to let you know how it goes, doing more today! YAY!

Fantastic tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to create it. I was able to follow right along - with a lot of help from the pause button and also the j, k, l keys > back up 10 seconds, pause, forward 10 seconds.
We're glad. We know it's a lot to do, but it gets easier every time!

@@JustMightDIY That Laminate, Oy Vey! Bubble, bubbles toil and trouble! You guys make it look easy. Perhaps a slo-mo video: here's how to do no bubbles. :)
It took a bit of practice. JZ is way better at it than I am. We will put that in our list of possible upcoming
@@JustMightDIY Thanks. This is my go-to channel for tutorials. I'm brand new to Cricut.
@@JustMightDIY After several attempts, I have finally mastered the dreaded bubbles using a twelve-inch ruler with a rounded edge. I took a little sandpaper to the edge of a wood ruler to produce a rounded, smooth side opposite the metal edge side. Apply light pressure. Zero bubbles on 8 1/2 x 11. Yahoo.
Thank you so much for using my designs!! I really appreciate it!!!

Materials Update January 2023: Oracal changed what they were selling at the link in the description; it now points to a true lamination vinyl, which we have tried and loved. You can use either Oracal 651 clear vinyl (amzn.to/3JriqqU) or the Oracal lamination vinyl (amzn.to/40eWvsJ). Hope this helps!
Thank! I was getting so confused! Lol
I don’t understand the differences in the three different links. I realize they’re all a little different but I don’t understand why I’d pick one or the other

I WANTED A CRICUT MACHINE BUT ITS A BIT EXPENSIVE...HEHEHEHHE I ENJOYED WATCHING YOUR TUTORIAL!!! SO EASY TO FOLLOW 💓
Oh thank you! We’re glad you enjoyed it. ❤️ Cricuts are expensive, but they can be a good investment overtime. Sometimes HSN has them on easy pay, which helps spread out the cost. 😉

Great for indoors but might not last long in the elements if you try to sell your home made stickers. Sticker and graphic shops use specialty vinyl made for that type of use. Oracal 651 is vinyl not laminate, but you gotta work with what you got.
Thanks for watching. Oracal markets the product as a laminating vinyl and indicates that it's one of the thinnest on the market. We've been happy with our stickers. Thanks again!
Very informative and helpful tips too thank y’all
Thank you! We appreciate you watching!
wow this is perfect for my labels
That's fantastic! Hope they come out great!
@@JustMightDIY me too. I needed to make my own labels for my binder tabs for personal stuff
We have used this for similar, labels for jars of honey and business stuff!
Oracal 651 is a calendared (typically indoor) vinyl that UV light breaks down much quicker than Oracal 751. The Oracal 751, which is a professional cast film, will last for seven years in the Florida Sun. Considering the increased cost per decal is minimal, always use the Oracal 751.
Not to mention, removing the decal later is much easier because it does not rot or tear.
I hope this helps, :).
Great insight! We’ll give that a test for sure, as we’ve been asked about outdoor stickers before. Thanks for stopping by!

I've got the Brother Scan N Cut 125e and a color laser printer as well. Nice to see some steps in your video that carry over to my setup. How much are you spending on the OraCal laminate sheet? You might like the 3 types of lamination cartridges for the 900 series (9 inch) Xyron cold press lamination machine.
* Full lamination both sides
* Lamination + Adhesive (for making laminated stickers)
* Lamination + Magnet (only 10 feet of material due to thickness of magnet material)
Their lamination material is marketed as an archival, UV, pH neutral film that will not peel or separate once you cut into it. So you can use it to make custom cut shapes, to seal precious documents, make pool or aquarium art, decorative chew toys for your little fur baby, waterproof and fade proof magnetic art or puzzles for the fridge, vehicle, etc. The SDX 125e simplifies alot of the steps you're performing by allowing me to do it on the cutter itself or in their desktop software. Like I was saying it is nice to see how other folk are making cool stickers from home. Not so long ago these sorts of features were relegated to super pricey professional level plotters/cutters and print services.
Very interesting! We’ll have to check out the Xyron - had one of the smaller ones years ago. The only question we’d have on that is how to get around the issue of the Cricut needing the black line around the page for print and cut (and not laminating over that. Still something worth exploring! It’d be nice to simplify that step. Thanks for watching and for the tips!
@@JustMightDIY The sensor for the Cricut doesn't read through transparent laminates? So what setting would you use if you were trying to cut out clear water slide decals, or static clings, or even overhead transparencies from your laser printer so you can make sun catchers?
If they’re glossy, it could effect the sensor for print and cut according to what we’ve heard, through we haven’t tested that theory. We haven’t tried water slide yet. Again, it’s worth exploring for sure.
@@JustMightDIY You can stick some matte clear tape over the black lines around the page. You can also close the top lid to prevent light from reflecting off the shiny laminate. I've done both and it works great with my Explore Air.
@@aracelysee9665 great tips - thanks for sharing!
SUPER helpful!!! Thank you for the step by step with adding new material and cut options!!
Any suggestions when using high gloss sticker paper (pre-laminated) and getting the machine to read the registration lines? Unfortunately using matte scotch tape has never worked for me. thanks again!
Hey! We’re so glad you liked the video! Unfortunately, the Cricut sensor seems to be very finicky with the reflections from high gloss paper. We’d suggest using a different paper. Hope this helps!
Use a white crayon over the black lines, like coloring it, softly, it works well .
D jokes for the win!! 😆. Great project!!
Hehe - thanks! 🌵
You are amazing guys 🙏
Thank you!! We’re glad you liked the video!

@@JustMightDIY Sorry, I'm on Australian time haha. I'd like to see how to make my own funny quote or how to make stickers with my kids' names. Unfortunately in the shops they never have anything with my kids names lol.
