" any reason why you were not wearing your safety belt " " well garda, i wanted you to stop me so then i could give out to you for all the corruption going on " " does that fail the attitude test enough for you " It not my fault, i am just doing my job, blah blah blah, , , , , .
methinks the cameras had an effect on the situation, i had a very similar experience with the Gardai....except the roles were reversed, my car was being serviced so i had a loan car from the garage, open insurance, so i was covered, but when stopped by the Guard for not having an insurance disk, to which gave the above explanation he responded with "i'm hearing this sh*t all f**king day" and he got quite aggressive with me....all ok in the end as i subsequently provided all the necessary documentation but i was left with a very poor view of the Gardai and what stands for Garda treating the public in a civil manner.
If there was no cameras he would have been pulled out of the car and I think you know what would have happened to him, Guards would take shit like this he was lucky there where cameras! lol...
Several years ago I received a ticket from a lady California Highway Patrol officer on a BMW motorcycle here in Sacramento California for going 50 mph in a 40 mph zone. The knothead to my left was going 50 and the radar gun picked us both up at that speed as he passed me. I was doing 43 mph. I had to pay a fine and go to traffic school to prevent my insurance rates from going up. It cost me $300 American for the traffic school and fines. Was it unfair-yeah, did I complain-yeah, but I learned a long time ago that sometimes life isn't fair. This Garda was a lot more respectful that that lady cop on the motorcycle.
If the cameras were not there he would have been pulled out of the car. Most guards are not cool like this at all. It was just a front for the cameras that all.
Are Irish cops really this polite? He knew he was on camera. Or maybe he figured "I'm was going to give only a warning--the ticket'll fix him for being a jerk.
If he was to do that in the UK he would have like been thrown in the van. UK traffic police are a lot more aggressive and arrogant than he was by and large
in Irish common law he does not have to pay to have a seat belt and their is no law against it only legislation and to have legislation passed you need a referendum
no in our system under articles 20 and 27 you do not need a referendum to pass a "public general act", only an "act to amend the constitution" needs a referendum. the regulations governing safety belts are under the "road traffic regulations 1991".
Aidan M the minute you mention freeman it just demonstrates you are a braindead fuckwit with no comprehension of the legal system it may shock you to learn legislation is passed all the time without referenda. Its only an amendment to the constitution which needs to go before the people. Legislation is created by the oireachtas
@charlesbrownlow1 I hope Ireland never seeks to emulate those countries. Culturally, politically, legally they're both car crashes, excuse the pun. It's shameful that we have to extortionate taxes for this man to fine another man for not wearing a safety belt. Then the culprit recklessly speeds up the road. Shameful
If there is no video evidence of the man not wearing a seat belt then I would take it further as the word of someone isnt enough to allow a prosecution
It's hilarious when they show the clips from america on road wars. If this happened in america, it would have been like. 'Sir, please refrain from using any further language of that nature and step out of the vehicle. 3 seconds he would be on the ground gettin tazed.'
What part of "it's the law that you must wearing your seatbelt" don't you understand!!!! Always put it on, and receiving fixed penalty notices in the post will be one less thing for you to worry about. My complements to an Garda, for maintaining his dignity and composure.
you act like that in the states they shoot you, when i was in dublin i was surprised how polite and how much guff cops took, in the states they will shot you for looking at them wrong, i would like to see them require american police to have the manners this irish officer does
Peter Doyle....self control, yeah...let's see if you can keep your cool when someone yelling obscenities in your face on daily basis!! The driver should at least get another fine for harassing police officer.
you need to check your thinking there it was the driver who was being harassed by a zombi anyone signing up to do such a job should be harassed to point where they wake up to what they are doing, get sane, quite being a zombi and join the human race. it is disgusting the depths to which some people will sink for a few coins
If I was the Garda in that situation I would get him out of the van and give it a full check over and arrest him for anything I could, and then fine him under section 5 of the public order act....the prick.
If that happened in the USA you can be sure the cops over there wouldn't take somebody talking to them like that. The driver would have had his sorry ass in jail. The guards here need to become more serious
"we get paid to penalise people" Are you kidding me? I wonder is that written in their oath ha. A perfect example of an Irish Garda. It kinda got a bit fictional though when the driver got lippy with the Garda. If there was no cameras he'd be out and the van searched. Next they'll be sending us fixed charges for hahitude violations
whats the cops problem,in the uk if you swear at a cop you would be dragged from that pile of rubbish his driving and arrested.garda do you job and arrest the fool or will it be like the points will it be washed under the carpet,,,,
give lip to a guard when there are no TV crew around and see what happens
If only all guards were this cool. I think it's for the cameras
never had a guard with that attitude - must've acted up to the cameras
They're a lot different when they're not on camera
You treated him with respect because the camera was on you. lol
'Rise above it' when the cameras are there more like.
if the camera wasnt there the situation would be a bit different i can tell you
" any reason why you were not wearing your safety belt "
" well garda, i wanted you to stop me so then i could give out to you for all the corruption going on "
" does that fail the attitude test enough for you "
It not my fault, i am just doing my job, blah blah blah, , , , , .
"how the f**k could I have a collision between there and there" haha
up until halfway through this, i thought it was a clip from the savage eye.
Interesting how the angry fella's voice is perfectly clear
4 new tires on boi!
Gardaí don't even act like that.
P. O'Neill My point is he is far too nice to be a garda. "cop" are you a murican?
Eddie Durkan?
the driver sounds like Mr. T with a Cork accent
methinks the cameras had an effect on the situation, i had a very similar experience with the Gardai....except the roles were reversed, my car was being serviced so i had a loan car from the garage, open insurance, so i was covered, but when stopped by the Guard for not having an insurance disk, to which gave the above explanation he responded with "i'm hearing this sh*t all f**king day" and he got quite aggressive with me....all ok in the end as i subsequently provided all the necessary documentation but i was left with a very poor view of the Gardai and what stands for Garda treating the public in a civil manner.
Ya know where the Garda station is. "Tis beside the post office" Pure Irish. :D .
I'm pretty sure his colleagues would find 'minor' issues with the car registration later on...
Could have just given him a warning. That's low.
Exemplary police action; the guy would have got a warning if he kept his gob shut.
And he had fooor new tie-arrs ...
This is in Whesst Cork bais!!.
Sorry about that officer, I just forgot, o.k make sure in future, on your way! simples!
the hattitude test...
Close to the border? It's about as far away from the border you could get. Sounds like a Cork accent.
surrised the gard didnt pull him out the window.. seems the norm
If there was no cameras he would have been pulled out of the car and I think you know what would have happened to him, Guards would take shit like this he was lucky there where cameras! lol...

Rise above it?? Mr Garda was on camera. If he wasn't i'm sure things would of changed.
ha ha If he had swore at the Gards without the cameras he would have been ripped out of the van and given a hiding
Such a build up "when Bryan spots a driver" (At this point you expect something epic) "Not wearing a safety belt" Jesus thats epic:P
Says right at the beginning - west cork.
Maybe the Cork / Kerry Border....
when you become a cop you fail the decent human test
We have plenty of them!
What? A police officer with no gun?!
i would have arrested him on the spot.what an absolute c**t of a driver.
Your probably a pig
Sleek Fx
Did you ever hear of the concept of FREE SPEECH?
peej peejen if the camera wasnt there he wold turn into a proper pice of pork

If he was to do that in the UK he would have like been thrown in the van. UK traffic police are a lot more aggressive and arrogant than he was by and large

@charlesbrownlow1
I hope Ireland never seeks to emulate those countries. Culturally, politically, legally they're both car crashes, excuse the pun.
It's shameful that we have to extortionate taxes for this man to fine another man for not wearing a safety belt. Then the culprit recklessly speeds up the road. Shameful
@0:33 the guard wanted to knock his teeth out...lol
If there is no video evidence of the man not wearing a seat belt then I would take it further as the word of someone isnt enough to allow a prosecution
what is the name of this show
I though this young Garda officer handled the situation with the utmost professionalism. Very patient, with a good level of restraint. Well done.
It's hilarious when they show the clips from america on road wars. If this happened in america, it would have been like. 'Sir, please refrain from using any further language of that nature and step out of the vehicle. 3 seconds he would be on the ground gettin tazed.'
I was thinking the exact same

@darren100905 Perhaps because some people in the UK are more aggressive and arrogant?
you act like that in the states they shoot you, when i was in dublin i was surprised how polite and how much guff cops took, in the states they will shot you for looking at them wrong, i would like to see them require american police to have the manners this irish officer does
I would not mind the Irish Officers shooting a few of the scumbags.

Peter Doyle....self control, yeah...let's see if you can keep your cool when someone yelling obscenities in your face on daily basis!!
The driver should at least get another fine for harassing police officer.

@tstanb we have them, its just the media will only portray the bad cops :(
If that happened in the USA you can be sure the cops over there wouldn't take somebody talking to them like that.

That's why I could never be a guard.
I'm not that patient I would have clocked him one.
