- I made this video for the (long) album version of Love is Like Oxygen by The Sweet by compiling the official promo and many TV performances of the song (and of a few other tracks recorded around 1978) because I felt it was long overdue. Enjoy!

60’s and the 70’s were the best for my generation.
I miss the seventies so much. Who cannot help but be mesmerized by this amazing band. That 3 of them have gone is so very sad. They were way ahead of their time. Don't forget the magic of that gorgeous drummer Mick Tucker. I hope they have all been reunited in rock n roll Heaven. R.I.P. Mick, Brian and Steve. Thanks for the memories. 😘

Sweet made some great, underrated rock music
It may have been/be underrated by 'critics' and the media, but at the time these songs were getting the most play on juke boxes and in bars/disco's of any songs out there. This album version wasn't played much on the radio except stations that specifically played album rock, same as songs like The Door's Light My Fire. I agree 100% that this is some great, top shelf music.

@TheBigHase You are correct, I saw them in Columbus Ohio as the preliminary band for Boston. They sucked so bad the lead guitar player threw his guitar while it was still plugged in and walked off the stage. Everyone roared and fired up another joint.

Def Leppard, definitely, Kiss most likely, but the others weren’t influenced by Sweet. Sweet we’re their own worse enemy at times with their heavy drinking, attitude towards TV/entertainment personnel, and poor management. They basically killed their own careers and the bitterness of this is shown in their claims that the influenced all of these different mega star groups. Queen was from the same generation and had the same influences that Sweet had. All you need to do is listen to the demos of Queen from 70 or 71 and you will see that Queen already had that sound. I don’t think either Motley Crew or Guns and Roses have styles that are anything like Sweet. Don’t get me wrong, Sweet was a really great band, but they don’t cast near the shadow as they, or their fans, think they do.
Your so wrong. Sweet influence nearly all of the eighties hair metal bands including Kiss,G and S and Def Leppard to name a few. They got bad publicity because they were made to lip sync on shows like top of the pops. Why ahead of there time just listen to Sweet FA there first real album .

Weird, I woke up with this song stuck in my brain and now it is in my recommendations. Miss the bands from the 70’s that actually played rock and roll. Sweet really went through quite the transformation over the years, they just seemed to get better and better.

Andy looked good with a beard, but I didn’t really go for my cute Steve’s moustache God I feel sad 😢 have been going over and over Sweets brilliant recordings and interviews. I would love to go back in time even though I was only a child when they started out. I’d love to be a 20 something yr old back in that time.
