  • My take on why millennials (and a lot of the general population) aren't confident wearing color. Are you very confident or do you mostly reach for neutrals? Give me your take in the comments!

Very interesting. Thank you for exploring possible reasons for the highly neutral palette we see everywhere. Regarding colour, Ellena Hue has been producing interesting and solid content. She also loves colour ❤️

Hi, I from India and we grew up with colors! Wearing all black is considered inauspicious in our culture! After moving to US, I always wondered how people don't get bored with black!! I know which colorss suit me just by how I feel that day. Certain colors just make me happy and vice versa. At present, I am trying to increase the amount of neutral basics in my wardrobe.

I'm on the same page with you, I've been experimenting with more colours in my closet as I am approaching 30. It feels good to step out of the comfort zone (sometimes)!

I loved this video as always. I realised during last couple of seasons that I am drawn to neutral colours when buying new items for my wardrobe. I almost felt scared to buy colourful clothes as I am unsure what colours suits me and I didn’t want to waste money on something that I’ll only wear a few times. However I have recently started to introduce a bit more blue into by wardrobe.

It is fantastic that you are considering all of your purchases so carefully. That is truly admirable and this is what this channel is all about. It makes sense that you go for neutrals, that is what we get taught to do, even in the fashion industry it is the safest bet to produce in those colors, and only if an item sells well to make it in more colors. I am working on color styling notes and will definitely share some content in the future. Thank you for supporting this channel.

Haha, so true. Even I am guilty of doing some of this in the past. I am determined to keep adding color thoughtfully. All the best to you!

Hi! Nice video, as usual :-) I am not a millenial, I just checked (seriously, I didn't know). Apparently, I was born at the end of generation X. Anyway, I always loved colors and knew that black and pure white didn't suit me. With time, patience, observatin and reading about the subject, I found that warm and dark colors suit me well, so I mainly wear these. I tend to not wear any makeup, so the color of my top is really important in my look! Keep doing videos, I like them a lot!

Hi Delia. Thank you for sharing. I agree that stark white and black do not suit everyone. It is so great that you know your own coloring so well that you don't even have to wear makeup! Well done! 👏🏼

Such an interesting video, thank you. I've never thought of it like that, but what you say totally hits true to me! I got a bit bored with all my black/grey/cream/blue clothes and started introducing colours a few years back, but I've always hit the same problem:
I'd love to create a capsule wardrobe, but my colours never quite match up. For example I love earthy tones, like a deep rusty orange and a fir tree green, but then I also love soft pinks and lilacs and clean light-blues, but they just don't combine at all in my view. So I am always stuck between having items I love but can never combine with one another; only in certain ways and always with the same basics.
Have you run into this issue at all? Would you have any advice on that, please? Or do I need two capsule wardrobes..
    Thank you!

Hi Carolyn! I love this comment. You are reading my mind. I am working on notes for videos that go into color, color theory, and practical ways of wearing color with confidence. Also color combinations and so forth. Might be a while, but I will share it once it is ready. Thank you for hanging out with me!

Always good information! I dont wear bright colors, im not a millenial but I do wear those light millenial colors. I never liked bright red, pink etc, tbh i think it look cheap. The beige, grey etc look more exclusive

Thank you. You are so welcome! I agree that beige and grey are so classic, and will probably always look good to me (even if I want to include more color into my wardrobe).

Everything looks the same - have you noticed? No personalized outfits..it all HAS to be trendy!

Hi Mary. I hear you, I'd love for style to become more personal. Also to encourage difference (and uniqueness) rather than 'fitting in'.
