I just got my Helix a week ago and I could not figure out why the effects I wanted were grayed out I had no idea what DSP was now I know , thank you! That was driving me crazy great video!
I trawled the net and UA-cam looking for someone to induct me efficiently into the world of Helix. You are the best! Thank you so much. Really clear, concise and evenly paced. I’d love to get some tutorials on using the Helix for vocals and also more ok recording using a DAW like Logic. Thanks again man
Been watching your series and they are the best. My Helix LT gets here tomorrow. I feel like I know where to start as soon as I get it. Thanks for the info! 🎸🤘
I have The Helix rack and the stomp, in the stomp user manual it has a diagram were you can use the stomp in fx stereo loop of your favorite modeler, to expand the dsp of the modeler of your choice. I can't find any videos of this set up and how you would make a preset to accomplish this it would make a great video! Also have used the stomp as preamps, drives, Dynamics, in front of tube amp by way of 4cm, and using a torpedo captor-x to send stereo cab dynamic ir's to FOH or DAW sounds amazing! There are so many ways id like to incorporate all my gear together w/midi control from the helix command center. Overkill? Probably but wtf why not!
Here's a question for you. I have an A/B split with a noise gate and two distortions that is assigned to a foot switch. My problem is when the switch is activated I have clean tone and when the switch is off I have the distorted tone. I simply want that switched around. Any recommendations on how to achieve that?
Hi. New to Helix. Does the helix have an overall DSP limit or is it limited to each preset. For example if I deleted some factory presets would that free up DSP space for a more effects heavy preset.
All of the dsp in helix is devoted to the individual preset that's loaded at that time. So deleting other presets won't affect the amount of dsp you have to work with.

Thank you for saying early what DSP is... been searching around to see what the letters stand for. Awesome stuff!

As "ALWAYS" Chad...AWESOME! I'm, yet again, one step closer to not callin' myself a guitard! Thanks for your time and effort!
And as ALWAYS I appreciate the positive feedback!! It really does encourage me to keep making videos :)
Thank you very much for the help. I needed the 2a tip!

Nice to the point tutorial
Really great video. I was wondering about linking the 2 DSPs. It also gave me a good impression of how much power is available. Thanks!
Thanks Chad! Really helpful indeed. Was waiting for it :-)
