In Los Angeles since whenever, '82 or some such, but saw them live locally in about '15. Brits for sure but they care about our crappy town enough to come out and play live. No place for great men but we work at it. It's a world issue and we aren't backing off about it yet.
The Chilis have always been very clear that this band was a big inspiration to them, that's why they got the band's guitar player Andy Gill to produce their first album back in 1984 and Flea wrote the liner notes for the reissued version of the Entertainment album saying how much he liked them.
Have you checked out Dan Boeckner? He's definitely a Marxist and is probably my favorite songwriter ever (not the best, just a personal favorite). I think he also does a political podcast.
Saw them in Dallas at the hot klub in 1983 and again in Dallas 40 years later. Brilliant both times.
Came here after John Frusciante's first live appearance with RHCP after 13 years
WHAT???? i came here because i search in youtube "punk funk" and i listened gang of four and now i fall in love

I guess we know who the Red Hot Chili Peppers were listening to for inspiration when they first started, WOW...

Flea wrote the liner notes on one of their reissues
they played this song after getting together with their former guitarist after 13 years break, you were so spot on it's scary
why does youtube speed up music/scenes?
did the same for The Stranglers
did it? I found this song in 2019's tour is much slower
Hugo (drummer) says it's the correct speed.
Hahah my friend in Gang of Four's case it's called amphetamine 😅😂
Back when you didn't have to be a rap fan to enjoy meaningful music.
What?
Херле теперь люди делаю инфоповод по типу:ШОК!!!!!! НОВАЯ ПЕСНЯ RHCP!!!! ШОК ШОК!!!!!!!
Back in the days when you could be a Marxist and still have a record deal.

@@RayyanKesnan Never heard of him. Thank you for the recommendation.
@@devildoll9929 No problem! Right now he's doing kinda dark synth pop stuff in a group called Operators, but you might wanna check out Handsome Furs.
