There’s a mod called “Island Event Notifications” that alerts you to festivals. It’s one of my favorites. It was made by Scarlet Mods. I believe MizoreYukii is maintaining it now that Scarlet has retired from modding.
I don't know how accurate it will be because I just looked it up, but I looked up "sulani festival schedule" and you can find all the events and days/times
If you can/want to use mods, I recommend SpinningPlumbobs "Mermaids Expanded." Really gives them the love they needed, among other things. But I 100% agree EA should go back and do to Mermaids what it did to Spa Day.
I've just had a mermaid sim move to Sulani and found out mermaids can't use the snorkelling spots - it says they would never dare to be caught snorkelling, and although I really wanted to try it, I find this small feature quite funny. Thanks for the video, I love Sulani!
I play in Sulani a lot & never knew many of these things existed. It’s my favorite world along with the English village. Thanks for your videos-they’re really informative! 😊🤗
Sulani is one of my favorite places to play in the sims and a lot of these I did not know you could do. I wonder why they don't say anything about the festivals... Thank you so much for this. I love your videos and your personality.
Wait, a little late, but you CAN interact with the volcano. When there is an explosion, some rocks will fall (if you live in the lot, it can broke some part and cause fire) and you can break them to collect gems.
A mostly hidden trait, Sulani Mana, allows a Sim to improve growing plant life & also summon flaming boulders that come from the sky to land on the ground; presumably, the boulders come from a volcano. Once they're cooled down enough to directly interact with them, you can carve them into artworks or break them apart for goodies hidden inside...Like gems, for example. I've found that it's usually not a good idea to give that ability (either born with it or cheat coded in) to a Sim that is largely autonomous, otherwise there's going to be a lot of those hot boulders laying around; a controlled Sim would spend a lot of time trying to keep them cleaned up.
Love the couple you featured in your video. I didn't realize there were so many festivals. I usually miss them. Wish they had the notifications like City Living does. I don't play with this pack as much as I do others. Though it is beautiful. I think this may be the world I pick for my next story.
I didn’t know about the festivals in Sulani either. I always have my Sims live in fancy homes, visit the spa, bar, beach & cafe. They’re going to have to get out and explore!
I didn’t know the pretty spots in the two main island until I see this video! I only mainly play at Mua Pel’am off grid for the waterfall and the mermaid-cleaning-up-pollution storyline
That sounds cool! I watched Petey's video about Island Living gameplay, and he suggested building a party platform out on the water. I built a dance floor with some secluded benches on one side, and I put in a bar and some deck chairs and a food vendor on the other side. On the beach I put up a grill, some seating, and a stage, so people can have little outdoor concerts, too. It's so fun, I visit it all the time. Great idea, Petey!
I've had this pack for 2 years and it's one of my favorite locations and listening to this, I feel like I've never been there at all. Dang! I had no idea about the fishing contest, the family night, that you could go to the volcano, pink dolphins, turtles or anything. Thanks for all this.
Hmmmmm 🤔It occurs to me that Sulani needs a huge farm somewhere to supply the locals with fresh eggs, milk, cheeses, meats, and pretty coloured wools for their cross stitching....hmmmm 🤔Thanks Petey, another interesting idea gleaned from your great little vids 👍 Can't wait to see if the rabbits and foxes will show up with sun screen and little hats hahaha...
I made a sim live on the "off the grid" boat. it's been so much fun! I never saw that little cave & had no idea cleaning up the beach would improve the quality of life in that region so significantly. I just got back into sims 4 last month. these were awesome tips. new sub! xx
Some youtuber revealed according to the coding the second island was supposed to be a resort island. But I guess they weren’t able to make hotels by release date :/ So I usually put an upscale home rental and spa on that island.
This is great! I would love to see you do a series like this on each world. It also would be cool to included the cultural theme and similarities of each world (ex. Willow Creek is based on New Orleans & has a trolley and a paddle boat to represent), weather, architect types, native foods that are also in game, etc.
I'm just thankful for every world that's not an American blue suburban area. I know it might be hard to create European, Asian or African worlds because of the sheer volume of cultures and landscapes across each one. Please try though, a life simulator should be inclusive when it comes to the residential areas as well. Last time we had an African inspired world was Al Simhara, and there's so much more to that continent than pyramids. Also, Europe also means Slavic people and I believe there's next to NONE representation. Which is a shame.
5:21 that waterfall is also a great background to take photos. I have a fashion photographer in one of my households and every time he has a gig for bathing suits or hot weather clothing I go there. You won't be able to place a tripod very close to the waterfall though, but it looks great nonetheless
this pack is gorgeous but the biggest letdown is not actual underwater exploration like in sims 3. Why wouldn't you make an underwater world in an expension pack for mermaids
You don't visit Lani St. Taz? I'm there all the time! (watches... watches) uh huh (watches...) so it turns out I only go there because that's where I built a platform club out on the water, a suggestion I took from you, lol So if anyone is looking to spice up Lani St. Taz, just watch some of Petey's other videos!
Can sims turn into mermaids in other bodies of water? I don't have island living yet but I do have cottage living. I was thinking of putting a mermaid in a forest grove and swim in the river and play them like a nymph. And making a vampire but rather than being goth, make them all sweet and pretty... like an evil fairy that lures people into their fairy circle for feeding.
You’ll need island living to have mermaids, but yes other open sources of water (like a pool, river or ocean), after consuming the magic kelp, will turn your human sim into a mer-sim.
I always wondered what all you can do in these packs but never knew how to get to them !! I’m so excited to go home and play (I’m 22 btw) but I’m still a child at heart ❤️ 😂
It would be nice if Sulani came with event reminders and calendar notifications like in Mt. Komorebi and its neighborhoods. I read that i can get a mod for that, but dang who's got the patience sometimes.
My legacy family lives in Sulani. I didn’t intend for it to become a legacy challenge but Sulani and Get Famous were my first packs ever and I wanted to create a chill celebrity who lives on the beach. Fast forward 3years (real time) and 8 generations later (I play on normal lifespan and they’re all really fit so they take FOREVER to die) and I realise I don’t know ANYTHING about this island 😩
How much do I have to clean Sulani? I have a Mermaid living on the off grid residential island and she cleans stuff up every day, but the next day it just respawns, and she keeps getting slimed.
It was probably the camera from the Moshino Stuff pack. It comes with a camera stand, a new type of camera, and more poses. He doesn’t use any mods in his videos.
You can turn a residential lot into a rental during build mode when managing worlds. Once you do that your sim has to go on vacation (which is available on the cellphone or computer) and then you pick that rental lot. Then you will be directed there automatically
The Volcano doesn't technically erupt but you can add the Volcanic Activity Lot challenge to your lots, which essentially causes an effect like the volcano erupting. So... yes, if you make it!
Also, sometimes, if u look in the water it starts to become light blu in some part of the sea, especially near the shore. I haven’t figured out yet the reason but sometimes it happens. Also if u interact with the vulcano, u can collect rare gems or stones
I wish the game would let us know of the festivals! This made me really wanna play in Sulani again 😍
if you have pc there’s a mod for it!!
@@sashapalmer5374 omg really?? I'll definitely look it up. Thank you!

I just wish Sulani's mermaids came with unique skill building elements like vampires and spellcasters do.
For that matter I want the same for Aliens.
Me too! I do like them how they are but a bit more depth is always nice :)
@@PeteyPlaysIt I want more skins!
I would love for ea to do a refresh for mermaids, aliens, and maybe even plant sims

My mermaid used to dive all the time! That's so interesting
They dive just fine, but they won't snorkel. I'm not sure why the Sims team thought that would be funny, but that's what they chose.
@@TinySnowkitty snorkel, sorry, I forgot that word haha
@@somethinginteresting5913 I figured it was just mixing up/forgetting the word, so no worries! Just wanted to clear it up for others 😊
@@TinySnowkitty thanks :)

I love the Henford world too, now I might build a farm on Sulani...the locals need their fresh eggs too....
Thank you for the super kind comment Susan :D
Lol I had a save in salani for 5 months and bearly noticed any of these! Also I would recommend this pack just for how buitiful it is
Amazing video :D
From memory I am pretty sure bed upgrades are base game :)
ikr

Awe shucks thank you for the super kind comment Mrs. Pitt :). Really appreciate this!
This is great! I love playing Off-the-Grid in Sulani. It's so much fun!
I’ve never tried living off the grid. Gonna have to do that!

@MidnightDStroyer ye u need to have a child with the spirits but turn them human again (ik I'm a year late I use to not comment )

@@haileybalmer9722 I built a nightclub and also a rental getaway lot in Sulani. Such beautiful scenery.
sulani is my favorite world in ts4, I love the sand, the sea and the people
I leave towels on the islands so sims can sunbathe. I'm going to have a sim bring a portable dj booth and bar and throw a beach island party.

I was thinking about doing a legacy or rags to riches challenge on Sulani since I never play there, then this video popped up. It’s a sign 😂
🤣 coinsedence?
I chose to do the money scenario here, because I imagine it like my sim has amnesia and it's secluded 😁

I've just finished off the grid challenge in Mua pel'am and don't know what to do next. Thankfully, your vid came out so I can explore sulani 😁

I wonder if they named it Sulani because "sul sul" means "hi" in simlish?
Google said that: Sulani is an anagram of the Latin word insula, literally meaning island
