"Fiophouse Funsies" is the name of the series where I do regular gameplay videos. This is because this channel is called the "Matt McMuscles Flophouse" It's not meant to be disparaging to the titles I'm playing here. I can't believe I need to keep reiterating this.
I didn't know people assumed that. That doesn't make sense to assume just because it's a goofy name. Also that song is Angel by Massive Attack. Great band.
"Wouldn't that vampire violate the masquerade just for being seen?" Yes! That's a Nosferatu clan. You can play as them, and they're all gross, so literally you have to play without letting any human npcs see you because it violates the masquerade. Also man you probably should've played the tutorial on this one.
@@ClericalError87 I mean, in tabletop VTM Obfuscate works way different. You can just blend into a crowd at no cost as Nossie or even alter your appearance later.
actually , you can be seen by humans as nosferato, but just dont touche them .dont get too near. ..its hard for them .many dialogs you could have with the other sociables you cannot have with nosferato, people dont talk to him. unless its a vampire ...so you cant bribe so much or persuade easily ..and to enter in the big boss lacroix building you must use the sewers, the cop in the entrance wont let you enter ..as nosferato you can play as a real vampire ,becoming invisible and getting everyone from behind . sucking rats in the sewers .but its hard to play.
dude the story in this game is ultimately THE BEST THING EVER ..this game is full of glitches .but THE STORY ,,IT INVOLVES THE PLAYER ,you feel like a vampire ,you feel like you just become a vampire or something and theres this hidden world its presented . yeah ,the story is cool i played because of that ..i hope the remake is good like this one
Yeah, even if you manage to figure out the controls on your own, Jack's there to bring people unfamiliar with the World of Darkness up to speed on basic things like the factions, how vampires work in this setting, etc.
Matt, thank you SO MUCH for doing this! I think I asked for this game every shitstorm, its awesome to finally see you do it! I would love to see a full LP!
@@SwagBroPlays yes let's disregard a lot of people hard work over the last decade to make this game playable because GOG exists, guess all that extra content, fixed quests, reworked areas and improved stability are not before GOGs official patch
@@TheAmazingSpiderPunk people who use the GOG version, all you need to do to run the unofficial patch is download an installer for it and use that to install the entire unofficial patch, it's not rocket science and was on of the first mods i learnt to install from how easy it was, saying that the GOG version is worth playing over the unofficial patch because you need to download an extra thing while the GOG version comes with it all pre patched are crazy
This has been one of my favourite games of all time for ages. Hopefully you will get more into the story and lore and continue into a full playthrough (with Crimentina to critique the clothes later on). Also, Malkavians are the best clan!
There's something oddly charming about the game using pre-canned animations for the talking scenes. After so many years of companies defaulting to motion capture, there's just something about this Also Matt was so entranced by the fake arcade he didn't noticed the hung up corpse right outside it beyond the fence,
Now that its easier to play with a patch i'll finally get a chance to play it..yay vampires 👿lol. But I hear this is a good game. Fun video Matt lmao !!
I would also advise you doing the tutorial that Jack offers at the start 'cause it teaches you pretty much all the basics. AND you get a free lockpick :D
This game sort of suffered from the same issue as New Vegas, in that it was obscenely buggy and tended to crash often at launch, but after some patches came out people could really start to appreciate what was there. Excellent game, once you get past the mental illness caricatures. And some of the weird, kinda racist shit. And the other mental illness caricatures. And the extended, almost-entirely-combat sequences. I do mean it though, great game.
Also it launched a week after halo 2, the day before metal gear solid 3, a week before world of warcraft, and on the same date as half-life 2, so it was pretty much doomed saleswise
Fantastic game! Consider this game was poorly received because it was thought of as buggy. For perspective, It released on the source engine before Half Life did. A lot of what is going on here is generally pretty ground breaking.
The test is stupid and make most people play Nosferatu. This is the least fun clan to play since you can't walk around without breaking the masquerade. You should check out some of the malkavian moments when you are done playing (they are the crazy ones).
It's not. "Flophouse Funsies" is because this channel is called the Matt McMuscles Flophouse. This is just the catch-all moniker for whenever I do regular gameplay videos.

I didn't know people assumed that. That doesn't make sense to assume just because it's a goofy name.

Who in their right mind is making that conclusion?
Why do you just attack random people as a vampire you monster lol

I’d recommend playing this game’s story all the way, Matt. It’s highly underrated.
I mean think about it...it could be Vampire the Matt-squerade. Or Matt-pire the Masquerade..... I'd love to see a full Matt LP of this. :)
I agree, Matt seems to be really enjoying himself

srsly there's a lot of game in this game, should do a full run.
Should've probably gone through the tutorial. It's worth it.

You do get to hear Bender as a vampire at least.
"She's riding into Egypt there, that's crazy."
I'm dying. That's the best line ever.
Angel by Massive Attack is the song you were thinking of.
VTM:B is at times a buggy, borderline unplayable game but it's also a really good RPG and a time capsule to the early 2000's.
"its not that old"....it's 15 years old lol. Now I feel old. lmao.
This game is a rare example of hidden jems of 00s which went under the radar
It came out the exact same day as Half-Life 2. Nothing else needs to be said on why it failed.
@@smward87 oh really ? that sucks,
I really want this to become a series. This game is so underrated.
the sequel was announced like a week ago, im not joking
Vampire: The search for painkillers
These questionnaires sounds more about avoiding lawsuits than underworld nonsense.
Yeah, it's Massive Attack's "Angel" that plays in Snatch. This is just the bassline.

This game was so buggy when it came out but I really liked it. Gangrels were the best
I played this only recently and god do I love it
Hope you play more of it Matt, there's a good spook house later on.
OH I KNOW
please play more, I just started playing it and it's soooo fun
I was hoping you'd get Gangrel. Wish granted. Enjoy your ride.
31:05 watch The Lost Boys. I think that movie had a huge influence on this games setting.
This must have been an absolute nightmare to get running on Windows 10. Much respect.
The unofficial patch takes care of that problem quite well
GOG makes all the pain go away

How on earth did Matt get Gangrel when most of his answers leaned towards one of the social clans? o.O
some of options also avoid more social interactions as well, which is pretty gangrel
