Look at his track record in the years since that fateful moment in Santa Clara under the bright spotlight of Super Bowl 50. Cam has played in at least 14 games each season since despite battling concussions and enduring shoulder surgeries.
During the 2019 offseason Newton finally went in for an arthroscopic procedure on this throwing shoulder, so perhaps now that he has had a chance to actually recover, the nagging injuries will be less of a factor going forward and NFL fans will get Superman back, which, if you ask me is a good thing.
Love him or hate him, Cam Newton is undeniably exciting to watch and the NFL is much more interesting when he’s on competing.
Today we present The REAL REASON Cam Newton Didn't Dive on the Fumble.

Not using a qb run heavy game plan lost them that game, they should have had 30 points by the time the fumble happened, denver wasn't the best vs mobile qbs; ruined his career not knowing the gameplan script the winners of big games (if that fails then you get bad calls to help).
I think they called 1qb run for their mvp qb in that superbowl lol, yeah that's his fault, the qb that couldn't change plays so he was pissec and heartbroken by the 4th quarter knowing they were made to lose. Had he gotten hurt diving for that fumble he'd be called soft anyway (only qb we ever see trucking defensive linemen and people are calling him soft lol)

@@elihathaway6784 there's been many superbowls without a black qb, nowhere on it was race mentioned, idk where you got that from.
I said the game was decided before they took the field and cam newton didn't notice that until someway through the game, cam Newton didn't call plays only do the plays he's told to - you can tell when your offensive playcaller intends for you to lose
If you ask me, it was so Peyton manning my favorite player ever could leave with a ring; a ring he was denied when they wanted Ray Lewis to get his not long before (Peyton manning is white) along with the mystery of Tim Tebow (a white qb) never getting a real chance to be a qb after leading an I think 1-5 team to the divisional round they got slaughtered in by Brady (Tebow not getting a real chance is much more of a disgrace than keepernick failing his chance then making a scene claiming justice; not all of us think racism is everywhere)

Sucks that cam didn't want that smoke. Sucks worse that he deflected when asked about not diving for the fumble. Obviously he thought about the concussions, figured his lineman would get it anyhow, or at least hoped he would. So, as a panthers fan, how do you feel about him being back? Seems to me they got him for sales and marketing purposes, and not to compete, but lots of fans love him no matter what, which I think is lame. If I'm McCaffrey, the true gamer that he is, I'd be disappointed deep down.

But you're taking it out of context. That game was meaningless for the Chargers. Brees goes out, who cares if they win or lose, hell they had a good enough team for any acceptable QB to play efficiently (although obviously not at Brees level). The Panthers only shot at winning that Super Bowl was Cam Newton. He carried them to the game and if anyone had a chance to win it, it's him. He would of gotten injured on that play, and then Panthers lose, no chance, Derek Anderson ain't winning that game even at his best. ( and it would then come out that Von committed penalties that weren't called, on BOTH his strip sacks that resulted in 14 points-- a blow to the head of the QB on his 1st sack, and an illegal bat after the 2nd sack)

I always felt from looking at the play that at 1st, Cam thought he'd be able to scoop the ball up and continue the play- but then the denver lineman got his hand on it as he is standing near the boy. Now once he's THAT CLOSE to the ball, and other players around the ball, THEN AT THAT POINT it's an awkward movement to go straight down on it, and instinct would be to NOT to fall on it due to injury.

My Opinion: (I'm a Broncos Fan) Cam was too close to the ball to divie on it, he would be on his hands and knees . And with everyone diving onto of each other, he could have gotten a career ending injury. I show no hate for the guy, I actually show a bunch of respect because he has kids, family, and a wife. Him getting injured could ruin his career, and he should have to get another job after he spends his money on medical access. And with with 3 kids, the oldest being born 10 months after super bowl 50. He would eventually have to get a new job and work. He is super passionate about his team and the NFL and he would be devastated to lose it. He didnt want that. Neither would any other successful NFL player. Imagine being an NFL player and working at walmart because you got injured in the game. That would be DEVASTATING. So, Cam Newton didnt do anything wrong. He was right, if he got the fumble or not, they would still lose due to the Broncos Legendary Defense thet year.

🙄... Every player does. Whether it b for vanity (not diving) or for glory (diving), he chose either one, he does it for himself. The problem is, he only had a split second to choose, and glory hounds r gonna eat that shit up. Especially Cam Newton. To question Newton's toughness is absurd. That kid has taken more of a beating than anyone not named Vick or Cunningham. That's a fact. His toughness has never been a question. His vanity and ability to handle adversity, especially when the chips r down? That's what I personally have always questioned. If he's afraid to take a beating by the media and fanbase, how is he expected to lead men on a field? Hence, the downfall of his career. He will never recover. I don't think he has the balls to admit his mistakes, and grow into anything more. That's the real problem with Cam Newton. Unfortunately, really. Cuz he's arguably the most talented QB I've ever witnessed play the game. That's just me.👍💯✌️

I don’t know why he didn’t just grab the ball and strip it from Ware. It looks like it was possible after watching it now, but when I watched it in real time; I truly believed he didn’t jump on the ball half hazardously because of the way D Ware had his arm stretched out. His elbow is just about pointing straight upwards at the very moment, plus his hand is on the ball. There is a lot of space between his arm and the ground. I think Cam knew if he would have jumped on the ball he would have broken Ware’s arm, elbow, or shoulder. Or all for that matter. BIG UPS to Cam. I think he’s more than people give him credit for.
