For me, Isshin was easier than expected, especially during the spear and the lightning phase. I struggled more with Demon of Hatred, but literally just remembering when you can attack and which side to strafe makes every fight easier, and of course, memorizing attack patterns
It’s phase two, that’s really difficult. As I mastered the lightning attack pretty fast, it was all about getting him to that phase. Nowadays I usually first try him easily, as the possibility to fight him just randomly makes it easy to learn him. Therefore I’d rate slave knight Gael, higher than Isshin
Isshin is probably the hardest final boss I've beaten. Another (not mentioned in the video) that comes to mind is Dracula from Castlevania: Dracula X (1995). This particular fight was primarily difficult because of the horribly designed arena, which consisted of narrow columns over bottomless pits. This meant that if you got hit by any of Dracula's attacks, you'd be knocked into one of the gaps and insta-killed unless you were crouched at the time. The first phase wasn't too bad as long as you were patient and didn't get greedy, but his second demonic phase is much tougher because he's more aggressive. Dark Fact from Ys I (1987) is also very difficult because you either kill him quickly or he'll annihilate you. He zooms around the arena like a DVD screen-saver, firing projectiles at you, and each time you damage him it destroys the part of the arena you were just standing on. If you're not careful, you can end up trapped in a corner of the arena, which is certain death. Finally, I'll give a shout-out to Minax from Ultima II: The Revenge of the Enchantress (1982). That fight can be infuriating because each time you damage her, she teleports to the opposite end of her castle, forcing you to track her down. If that's not bad enough, her Balrons are constantly attacking you the entire time, and Time Stops are paramount to putting some space between you and them. Ideally, you can cause them to get stuck in one of the chambers in the middle of the castle, but, even then, you still have to deal with Minax pelting you with spells.
I defeated Isshin(shura ending) and Isshin(Severing Immortality ending) in a couple of tries. My hardest has to be the Demon of Hatred. That 🦧 was way too hard.
@@KingofCurthes I definitely agree with Demon of Hatred being the toughest, as that was the most difficult FromSoft boss I've beaten to date. As far as final bosses go, though, Sword Saint was probably the toughest for me. Honestly, a lot of the hardest bosses I've beaten aren't final bosses: Nightmare King Grimm from Hollow Knight, Sisyphus Prime from Ultrakill, Sendai from Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, Sigrun from God of War (2018), etc.
Isshin took me like a 2,5 hours, but I'm glad because I learned him and now I'm able to kill him hitless on NG+7. Isshin is the best boss I've ever beaten and I still fight him every once in a while.
@@EasyMoney_SniperR Yeah, Isshin has a very well-designed boss fight that builds on everything you've learned over the course of the game and becomes significantly easier once you learn his patterns.
@@forwardmoving8252 agreed, it was a pretty tough game, but none of the bosses took me more than 10 tries. can't say the same for pretty much any fromsoft game.
before the final confrontation with Vergil, there's also the Arkham one, which is so damn hard for the first time, and when you get to the 2nd phase, Vergil helps you beat his blobby cheeks, but in exchange of your style button...and that's what made that bossfight so hard, imo
The fear you get from Nyx Charming a party member and having them attack you is NOTHING compared to the sheer terror of your Charmed party member opting to just fully heal Nyx instead, lol.
I was literally shaking after i beat Isshin the first time. Took me almost 2 months and that says a lot. Hardest boss i ever faced in decades playing videogames. Radagon is difficult too, but after beating Malenia solo, melee, no spells, bell or ashes he was not that tough. But still a very challenging boss. Armstrong is insane too. When i see Isshin and Armstrong in the same thumbnail i know the list is good 😂
Honestly. When I got to him the first time, I just felt like I couldn't beat him. I wasn't talented enough. I missed too many skills. Didn't master enough. So what did I do? I restarted the game. That's how hard I felt he was. So I completely understand.
@@CrazeeAdam beating Isshin is the proof that you learned how to play Sekiro. You won't beat him if you don't mastered the game mechanics. Simple as that. Before Sekiro i already had got the platinum trophies in almost every fromsoftware souls like (except dark souls 3), and still this game kicked my ass. Nothing could prepare me for this. @@BigBossBr4z1ltook me a long time but I eventually beat Isshin. There are 3 straw hat enemies w/ spears you encounter at the temple grounds, I could never manage to beat those guys
As someone who’s beaten the game twice, Isshin is probably harder on the bad ending, he can literally dodge your attacks and he gets fire based attacks on his second phase and the boss before him is much tougher than Genichiro is in the good ending
@@tuttiman55 i got the platinum trophy years ago. Beat the game 3 or 4 times (can't remember right now). Emma is tough, but i find this version of Isshin easier than the other one. Some of his attacks are easy to dodge, specially the flames. The sword saint using that spear, thunder and even a effing gun is brutal.
Isshin is the peak "one mistake you die" phrase. you literally cannot make mistake against him especially in his second phase or else you'll meet Genichiro again lmao. Isshin taught me how to do a no damage fight in any FromSoftware games I've touched. he's the hardest final boss ever but he's the funnest one as well.
Radagon didn't have to be that overwhelming. If a person did the side dungeons and extra things on the map along the way (there are a lot of them), by the time you get to him your character is really juiced and you have some leeway in the battle.
I've been playing video games since 1985 and I can say with complete certainty that Cuphead's last boss, "The Devil" is one of the hardest to kill I've seen in years.
Isshin broke me to the core 2 grueling months it took me to get to him. This was my first from software game I beat, once I beat him I deleted the game and cried myself to sleep due to the how much it took from me lol
I love how you describe master hand as "a literal glove" when in context it would have made more sense to say taboo "pimp-slapped master hand, who is normally the outright final boss of the series." Describing him as a glove kind of reduces the significance of how easily taboo brushes him aside 😂
Guy was super easy.I am surprised that he is on the list. Beat him from second time as i did not know how to time that last move. There are tons of FF final bosses which are harderto beat

Anubis from Zone of The Enders: The Second Runner, hardest final boss that I’ve ever beaten (I’ve probably come across harder final bosses that I haven’t beaten). He is easier than he was in the first Zone of the Enders, in that game he can’t even be beaten, you’re supposed to lose.

While the final boss of Nioh 2 is indeed difficult, ask any Nioh player who the most dreaded boss is, and it'll usually be the transformed Shibata Katsuie. He's arguably tougher and more all out aggressive than Otakemaru.
Last bosses in Kingdom Hearts Birth by sleep (psp) & The world ends with you (nin ds) are very hard. Final form of the final boss in Hard Corps:Uprising (ps3) is also completely brutal.
Due to stop playing PS after 3 and casually playing Switch I’m only familiar with Vergil I replayed that fantastic game so many times I confirmed the best weapons against him are firestorm blades and ice one.
Saddler from RE4R is infinitely harder than Mr.X. In fact, out of my 20 playthroughs, I only bothered beating him legit once. The other 19 times I used a rocket launcher. And assuming you play on the highest difficulty, Nemesis at the end of RE3R is the hardest boss fight in Resident Evil history.
Hades, RE 2, Persona 3, MGR, DMC3, Hollow Knight, Elden Ring, and Sekiro. They were all phenomenal final bosses though I'm surprised Radagon was number two as he wasn't really that difficult. Started Persona 3 Reload and I can't wait to take on Nyx again, it was such a fun boss
Radagon + Elden beast is a tough fight considering you do them back to back without any pause. Radagon alone prob wouldn't and shouldn't make any hard lists.
One name : Lucifer from SMT Lucifer's Call (or Nocturne if u want). "Secret" Final Boss. He's so unbelievebly hard that the fight itself is just pure luck 😅
Yaldabaoth and Izanami having 2-3 phases: We're the toughest Persona bosses Nyx: *T pose to assert dominance* THE MOMENT MAN DEVOURED THE FRUIT OF KNOWLEDGE HE SEALED HIS FATE. ENTRUSTING HIS FATE TO THE CARDS, MAN CLINGS TO A DIM HOPE. Yet the Arcana is the means by which all is revealed... Also 13 phases-
i mean personally issin was much easier than radagon because it depended on timing ,and througout the game, everything honed your timing,so if i fought him like in 40 percent of the game it would take me DAYS to beat him but since the game provivded so much training it all depended on remembering the moves, took me 30 mins to beat issin and to beat radagon it took me 3 hrs split over 2 days
I’ve only gotten to Hades once and I’ve had the game over two years. Was pumped when I depleted the first health bar and then the second phase started and I was so mad🤣
This list totally forgot about Shin Akuma (Super street fighter 2 turbo, hardest difficulty) just getting to him is a feat because the cpu is so cheap. But then there’s various mortal kombat end bosses as well
Going for S+ tier ranking in Resident Evil 2 Remake and only being able to save 3 times the entire game.. well let's just say I made the mistake of saving at the beginning of the final Labs zone area, so I had to redo that entire multi hour section several times because I didn't realize how hard Mr. X would be on the hardest difficulty when you can't redo the fight so fast and practice. He one shot killed me so many times, I really hated that boss. His charging claw attack can be incredibly hard to dodge, and it's a one hit kill if he gets anywhere near you.
I noticed that Hades is called the god of the dead in the Hades game. That isn't correct. Hades is the god of the underworld, not the dead. That would be Thanatos. There is a difference.
I would add Yiazmat, from FFXII. He has over 50 million HP and it took me 3 days fighting him to end that HP (since his HP is so big you can save mid fight). Also, when at low HP, he buffs and basically one shots characters each turn.
For me some of the hardest that weren’t on this list was Pir'Oth Ix from Sonic Chronicles and Murai from Ninja Gaiden Black (since you have to fight 3 bosses in a row from the last shop, including an ass parkour part)

I personally never found Senator Armstrong to be even challenging, let alone difficult.
I find Isshin’s shura path boss fight and demon of hatred harder than Sword Saint lol. Isshin is a fair fight, the other 2 use that fire shit 😂
Jun Kazama/Unknown Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (2012) Still haven't beat her I've tried but I still got my butt kicked
The Shadow Queen was a pushover, but I always completed the final boss battle.
Yeah, especially if you stack, Power Rush Badges, Close Call Badges, and set yourself to have max HP as 5
I think some of their choices are questionable.
Using attacks that linger also work, like Fire Drive
No Nameless Puppet from Lies of p or Annihilation from Remnant 2?
i struggeled with Mr. X for so long i legit had to memorise his pattern before i could beat him
Swear y’all did this like 3 times lol but ima still watch
Armstrong isn't hard. You just gotta know his patterns.
I would add Yiazmat, from FFXII. He has over 50 million HP and it took me 3 days fighting him to end that HP (since his HP is so big you can save mid fight). Also, when at low HP, he buffs and basically one shots characters each turn.
Yeah but if you set your gambits right, you really don't have to do anything
Not the final boss
Yeah Vergil had me standing up and screaming at my tv
The amount of times I died fighting senator Armstrong is almost offensive
Had way more trouble with Radagon and Elden Beast. Took forever to beat them but beat Isshin on my first try.
Vergil Devil May Cry 3
Sifu's final boss broke me...
i can say that i feel really proud that i was able to beat isshin, but man it was hard, i fought him for 6 hours straight until i was able to beat him
For me some of the hardest that weren’t on this list was
Pir'Oth Ix from Sonic Chronicles and Murai from Ninja Gaiden Black (since you have to fight 3 bosses in a row from the last shop, including an ass parkour part)
That lady with lightning on Lies of P should be in here. She was the hardest boss in the game
agreed, but they're going for hardest final boss. I think the nameless puppet was harder
I just beat Isshin 2 days ago. It took over 50 tries to nail it
Radagon is badass as gold
The death egg in sonic 2 and sonic 3 and knuckles
Queen of valkyries from GOW 4 was a mention id have expected.
Not the final boss
