I love everything on the right page - the dusty pinky brown of Platinum Brun Sepia, the olive green Robert Oster Melon Tea, the greyish Wearingul Stonecutter's Song and the golden olive Robert Oster VanPen 86 - love them!

Such a great comparison! 3 Oysters Caramel Macchiato reminds me of KWZ Cappuccino, which is gorgeous, and KWZ Brown-Pink is another interesting choice from them.
Interesting, my preference is to the inks on the left hand page. Perhaps those are "warm browns". Stonecutter's song has been highly rated but it does not appeal to me.
I have tried the Moneteverde Moonstone and it is wonderful... reminds me of the Wearingeul you showed
I will have to give that ink a try. Don’t have many Monteverde inks but have heard lots of good things about them.
What a gorgeous collection of browns! They are all unique, and it’s awesome to see such a range on one page. I definitely lean towards the right page, except for SBRE Brown, which has that beautiful orange undertone, and makes me think of my favorite leathers. Thanks so much for sharing! SBRE brown totally reminds me of a richly colored leather! We took advantage of the snow and headed to the mountains!
My favourite brown ink is Sailor Ink Studio 673. Browns, greens, grey and burgundy are my favourites. I like a lot of the colours you swatched today. Thanks for sharing.

For all the lefties out there: Noodler's Golden Brown can sometimes take hours to dry. It's a beautiful ink though-like writing with liquid gold!
The stonecutters song looks amazing! Definitely want to try this.
A member of my family is going to South Korea early next year so I am hoping they can pick me up some amazing inks. South Korean ink companies seem to produce such incredible ink!!

If you love warm browns, check out Noodler's Kiowa Pecan. The red and yellow tones to it are just gorgeous!

For people looking into Kiowa Pecan: it has been renamed to just "Pecan". You'll have to research "Kiowa Pecan" to see examples but buy "Pecan".
As much as I love Kiowa Pecan's appearance, it is one of Nathan's least stable inks. When it behaves itself it has a wonderfully leathery appearance. I am 95% convinced that Nathan mixed Apache Sunset (renamed Southwest Sunset) with his Standard Brown. You'll get a brown with a reddish undertone only when you're using a juicy pen. Otherwise expect a mix of orange and/or brown with yellow in the drier areas.
And that is only if you mix the ink well prior to using it. The two colors don't like to mix. I've had the ink separate within a day inside my pen. So treat it like a shimmer ink. If you don't make an effort to get both colors to mingle, you might wind up with just orange (albeit a nice, rusty orange). Admittedly I live in a colder area, so your mileage may vary.
Lastly, Pecan takes a while to dry. It is not as bad as Noodler's "it takes a day or more to dry" lineup, but lefties will smudge the punctuation. Sadly, I can't use it to write notes or letters, nor is it professional enough for an office environment, but it is tons of fun to use. I use it in the fall and early winter to write my daily recap in my planner and then leave the planner open so that it can dry overnight. I plan to try out some Diamine inks in the same vein to see if I can find an acceptable replacement.
All of this is on top of Nathan's typical inconsistencies.
If the Noodler's brand doesn't bother you, also consider Beaver and Walnut. The former is a black cherry red/brown and the latter (one of my favorites) is a chocolate brown with red depth. I've never tried the former but Walnut needs the same warning label as Kiowa Pecan. Mix well and don't expect the ink to be dry within seconds. Furthermore, Walnut is really bad with showthrough. But gosh! is it beautiful!

lovely swatching as always Liane. The Platinum Brun Sepia is very similar to Robert Oster's Plumb Nut if you are liking those kinda vintage pinky/brown colours. The winner for me out of your swatches today is the Stone Cutter's Song.. it's kinda like a mushroom grey/brown with the lavender undertones 🤩 gorgeous

All of these are beautiful to see swatched. I’d like to try a sample of the Noodlers Golden Brown.
I think my two favorites are 3 Oysters Caramel Macchiato and Platinum Brun Sepia. I guess I gravitate towards warmer browns and even pink-browns. Stonecutter’s Song looks lovely but to me that leans more grey than brown. Great video!

Hiiiiii!!!!! ooooh these are so gorgeous! i'd say my favorite is the Sepia... love that pinky brown the best . It was so cold and rainy and miserable today. I wish it would snow a little- i'd like a white Christmas.

I like the Golden Brown and the Stonecutter's Song the best. I want to try Caffe Crema, but I'm afraid it's more similar to the browns I have in my collection; those are Herbin Lie de The and Noodler's Stockyard Signature.
Yeah, I’m not sure if I’d buy a bottle of caffe crema, but golden brown is definitely on my list.
I'm loving these colors. I have stonecutters song inked in a pen this month and I absolutely love it. I have it in an EF nib so the color isn't as pigmented but it's beautiful. I really want to try the Brun Sepia. I also love Opera Rose and brunch date. I have brunch date inked up too 😁

@@lianelikes Been a year since I made this comment and I bought a new sample of Golden Brown and there must of been a formula change. Its like a Deep burnt orange with some shading. I'm so sad I didn't get a bottle of the original sample. First world problems 🥲🥲🥲

Thank you! I think a lot of these browns would be wonderful shading inks, not so much the darker ones. Surprisingly, there aren’t a lot of shops dedicated to fountain pens in Seattle!

Can anyone out there confirm or deny that Wearingeul's Stonecutter's Song is similar enough to Diamine's Earl Grey that if you own one you don't need the other?
