Robert looks damn young, but still that unmistakable voice and the quality of the music This is on my REK playlist and an absolute classic, gets me singing along every time it comes on This is the song-writing, playing and performance i could listen to all day Fantastic
Great video REK before anyone knew him! Brian Duckworth on fiddle Steve Williams on Guitar takes me back to the good old days! Saw these guys at Stubb's on 19th st in Lubbock about the time of this taping!
@bholbert24 I saw REK at a few "pickin' porch" parties, but Lyle was always playing gis out of town on weekends. Sure do miss the Cow Hop, Dudley's Draw and Ken Martin's Steak house for chicken-fried steaks. They're hard to find outside of Texas. Jim McKee '80
Well, I’m gonna third that! It definitely reminded me of LRATJOH but I wasn’t thinking it was necessarily BETTER-I was just thinking, man there’s the Dylan influence right there! Amazing storytelling. Love REK ♥️
I can’t believe I just heard this sing for the first time at 70 years of age. Wonderful. ♥️

All the comments for REK are great, but how about some acknowledgement for Jerry Jeff.

Robert Earl is Texas
Sure is!
Sheriff Paul. Love is all that matters in the end..get it?
Is that a young Bryan Duckworth on the fiddle?
This song is reminiscent of 'Lily Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts' by Bob Dylan. Possibly even better though.
dare you say it and I think your right.

Amazing storytelling. Love REK ♥️
Sounds like a classic western movie summarized into a short song.
This sounds a lot like Dylan's "Shelter from the Storm." Both great songs.
