Highlights of this headset for me include:
Connectivity options that allow you to connect both wirelessly and via Bluetooth at the same time = playing from two sources at once

Comfortable fit
Decent microphone
Good sound whatever you're doing
Good looks and versatile enough to use as headphones
Fantastic features for the price.
Lowlights:
Earcups might be a tad small for some

The SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless is my favourite because it has the ability to connect in two different ways - wireless and bluetooth, which means you can use it outside as well as on your PC. You can also use both connections at the same time, so you can browse videos on your phone (for example) without disconnecting from the PC audio. You can place calls with the mic too. So this is one flexible headset!
It also has a higher frequency response, easy to use on-ear controls, the ability to customise the look and feel with swappable driver covers and more too.

If you got a problem with your Steelseries headset (or any headset) being too tight, I suggest stacking some book (or something similar) on the edge of your desk to about the width of your head, and just leave your headset there. This worked for me with my Arctis Pro Wireless, and so far there’s no issues. Nothing broke, but if you’re trying this, be careful.

Like the British Bob Ross. Now I'm painting happy trees with an Arctis Pro headset.
I love my SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless, the only fault I would put on them is that the plastic housings for the headset upper section is cheap and easy to crack. I've had several instances of the retaining plastic around the pins that go into the ear cups cracking off and rattling around inside the ear cup... then when you glue them back down you have two things happen - the strong vice-like grip on your head is gone, AND the ear cups barely swivel because there's no way to glue it without losing movement. If they would have used stronger plastic, it would be the #1 headset.
That's actually the same issue i had! Tho i did really like them compared to anything else I've had that's far,
What is the 1# headset for you then?
i just ordered the arctis pro wireless a couple days ago so im glad to know its still better. hopefully you review the audeze penrose!
I'm hoping to.
Lately, on Prime day, i got one too, changing the Battery on the fly is _absulutely_ the killer feature. 40 KHz is anyway the better option, i would say. The sound is really fantastic on the Pro wireless. I had a Steelseries Siberia V2 in the past, and the sound was good. But now, out of the box, without any equilizer tuning, i love the sound.
BT connectivity is another great feature, though, sitting 3.5 meters away from my 65" TV i got distortions in BT Sound, maybe there is too many wireless stuff around here or BT of the Q900 TV has an issue. The Bass on Pro Wireless is just great. It's really crisp. It goes down to the lowest frequencies you might have never experienced.
@@TheProvokedPrawn can you connect pro wireless via bluetooth to ps4/ps5?
@@japekki666 nah through the usb and optical with the transmitter box on ps4..the ps5 will have no optical port so it will connect via usb with the transmitter box with a firmware update when it comes out...great headsets i love them.
@@supremeaxiom yeah but then you have take trasmitter box with you if you wanna use these on pc?
Got my Pro Wireless since it launched. Absolutely love everything about it. They thought of everything. It just needs some PS5 support now.
And xbox series x it will only work through 3.5. Arctis said the pro wireless will work through the usb audio on the ps5 with an update.
@@Rockerrobin great news. I’m gonna miss the dual functionality of switching from PS4 input to PC Input without plugging things in and out.
why would you say it won't work on ps5? it still gonna work dumbass. Use the USB port!!
@@Rockerrobin I have recently purchased the artics pro wired with gamedac and it works with Xbox series x brilliant. Just need a hdmi audio extractor with optical out. Plus ideally a pc or mac to run alongside to use for game chat etc. Had Astro a50 gen 4 but the steelseries sound signature is so much better and the drivers are tuned to perfection compared to Astro which I find a bit dull and muddy sometimes.
@@LewisM1984 what hdmi audio extractor did you use?
I just got the arctis 9 today and been trying them for a few hours. I think they got more comfy the more my big head loosens the metal band a little. My astro gen 3 a50's still seem more comfy though and more bass, maybe a bigger sound stage with surround. I thought the base station quit working, that's why I ordered the arctis, but turns out it was just the astro usb cable. And the 2 other cables I tested, could not fit deep enough in the base station to give it power, so it just looked completely dead lol. I finally tried the cable from my arlo security charger and it fit perfect, magically back to life. Since steelseries said I had to pay for return shipping rather these 9's were open or not, I figured I'd try them out haha. So keep the arctis and sell my astro a50's, or send back the arctis and upgrade bigger to the arctis pro or astro a50 gen 4 that I was thinking about anyway. Maybe even get the mod kit for the a50. Had astro since gen 1, but the bluetooth on the Pro wireless and these artcis 9 is very intriguing, especially as more and more things get rid of headphone jacks, plus I can simply connect to my smart tv via bluetooth and watch tv/movies without bothering anyone. I also have a 2nd optical cable from my tv to the astro base station that accomplishes the same thing, just less cool and convenient lol. Sheesh... decisions decisions. Could also be a good deal on one of them for black friday coming up!
Which’s is better in your opinion
Artics Pro - The headset is designed to have the headphone cups twist to face upward when resting on the user’s neck. The hinge is not designed to sustain the forces subjected to the headset with the act of removal i.e. the cups have not been designed to flex or extend past the diameter of the users neck when facing up, only when adjacent to the band. Despite this being an advertised feature of the headset, this is not functional and caused a physical fault due to lack of support in the structural design of the cup. The fault caused the hinge to assert a force against the shell of the cup causing the plastic to shatter and crack causing jagged edge to the cup with an exposed circlip presenting a risk. Steel series Is yet to fix this problem 05/2021
Humans can detect sounds in a frequency range from about 20 Hz to 20 kHz. (Human infants can actually hear frequencies slightly higher than 20 kHz, but lose some high-frequency sensitivity as they mature; the upper limit in average adults is often closer to 15-17 kHz.)
Therefore the Arctis Pros 40khz range is useless
exactly, I stopped watching after he mentioned that
That's on average though.
Just because it applies to you, doesn't mean that it does for all the rest of people.
I just got the arctis 9 and im really happy with them.
aren’t these artic pro wireless old, i’ve had these for ages now, but great headsets, battery change sold me
That's the great thing about PC peripherals, old doesn't mean worse in the same way it generally does for PC components or monitors.
2018 released. arctic 9 released 2020. But that doesnt mean anything
The Arctis Pro Wireless is a newer release, possibly a new version.
@@Matisyahuwu you're wrong the Arctis pro wireless has been around for quite some time while the Arctis 9 wireless is more recent.
Do these really break that easily?
for anyone who wants these but cant decide, dont get the pros because they are nearly 200 dollars more expensive and its just not worth it when the arctis 9 are was more reasonably priced and they are just fine

The Pro Wireless is amazing I've had it almost 2 years now. However take warning the transmitter base knob stopped working and I am unable to adjust any settings. Even the multiuse button on the headset will only allow me to adjust volume at this point. There is no way to purchase a separate transmitter base for replacement. I have tried updating through steelseries engine and no luck whatsoever. Everything worked great for nearly 2 years but for the price that these go for I am really disappointed.
Another words, get the extended warranty from a 3rd party?
I need a new headset and I'm just gonna re-order the PRO ... If you want to, you can buy my transmitter station off Mercari... I'll be posting it when I get my new headset... LMK.

Most overlooked of gaming headsets is the Bass! I'm currently on my 3rd Sony Pulse Wireless Headset: Elite Edition 9258735 headphones (the one's released way back for PS3) which have always sounded better on PC than anything else, even though they were originally bought out for Playstation 3. The Sony Pulse's 'bass' translates to 'feeling' the low end sound in your head as it reverberates around your scull from the vibrational pulse transducers that are built into the headband, i.e. instead of just hearing the Attack Heli blades when standing right next to it in Battlefield 3, you can actually 'feel' the blades movement of chopping the air - similar when near a Tank's turret, the boom feels ultra real. No other headphones come close and feel totally lifeless in this aspect -- unless mistaken and there's a pair of wireless headphones out their that I do not know of.
I'm assuming and fearing that the Arctis Pro with it's small 40mm drivers, may have put the emphasis on the higher 40,000Hz frequency top end, but only deliver average bass. Is this true?
I would love an answer to this.
Yes the current Pulse headset (Ps5/PS4 models) have been major downgrades from the OG PS3 era model.
They are right, you have an incredible voice. Liked the video and i consider to subscribe
Going to 40khz isnt inherently better, it just implies that the drivers Are different.
15:20 the streambeats playlist, nice
Would you suggest these to people that want a better advantage in gaming?
Yes
The Provoked Prawn's demonstration of how easy it is to change out the ear-cups is quite funny. They are not easy to put back on as is seen in the video. Additionally, the more often you replace them, the sooner they wear and eventually no longer keep a grip.
* Puts cushions on the hard way *
I'm currently stuck with the G933 headset from Logitech, I was so excited when I got them and now I've been looking for some, ever since I started looking I saw your channel reviewing it, now I know I'm going to get the Pro wireless, thank you so much for making such quality videos, I love this channel, you're an inspiration and a huge help.
Glad to be of use. 😁🦐🍤
I've got the same situation. I'm using the G933 but i have much issues with this. I will also change to the Arctic Wireless Pro I guess.
After using the G933 for a solid 3 years, the dual battery is a must have for me now, also the button on/off have a lot of problems on the G933! that being said, the Dolby audio on the G933 is kinda better than the Arctic Pro DTS
@@danielperez2545 That sounds pretty good. I also got some issues with the on/off button and so I'm happy that the Arctis Pro getting delivered tomorrow!
My g933 has a broken power button too !
It is worth noting that the "hub" on the arctis pro wireless has a lot of ports on the back, but can't use multiple at the same time. Optical is available for PS4 mode only, line in and line out doesn't work when usb is plugged in. The swapping battery charger is amazing though. Unit comes with two batteries as well. I'm on about a year of use and still get about 100 minutes of battery usage on 2.4 GHz connection, no mic use. Batteries seem to be reporting inaccurately though when charging so you may need to charge to "full," remove battery from charger and then insert the battery to the charger again to get it to charge to real "full."
Thank you so much for this video, really helped me choose, I guess I'll go for the Pro (exists in white, swappable batteries, better sound).
Glad to be useful. Hopefully you enjoyed enough to subscribe 😁

Hopefully they will. Good luck getting a bargain! Hope you appreciated enough to subscribe.
Did you get your deal?
Best vid review on Arctis 7pro I've come by.
Listening this video with the Wireless Pros. Sounds great! The only thing I don't like is the minor hissing sound when there ia no audio playing. It's quieter with the vol limiter on. And I recommend keeping the limiter anyway, because the base volume is already plenty.
I've never had that problem with my Pro Wireless. So strange that some do :(
@@TheProvokedPrawn might have to do with other 2.4GHz devices around, like phones/modems. For me the hissing stops completely if I only connect with bluetooth.

Great review! I still do have 2 Questions though and I would be super grateful if You could answer them.
1. How long do they take to fully charge? (especially the Arctis 9 since you can't swap out batteries)
2. How much to they each weigh? I've heard the Arctis Pro are a bit heavier, is that significant though?)
I think those questions are answered by the specs. I am afraid I don't know how long it takes to charge that's not something I tested. Sorry.
13.5 Oz for the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless ... I just took mine off and weighed them to answer your question :D
had the Arctis Pro Wireless. the swapping of batteries ended up being annoying, because you have to do it every single day, and almost alway mid use. Considering the time it took to swap batteries, and boot up again, I would prefer to just simply and quickly plug the charge cable at the end of the day after use.
Wish I could find that synthwave accessory kit again for the plates and ski band. Sold out and was limited. :(
I didn't know there are dbrand skins! Awesome! Thanks for letting us know about that.
If only they made the usb connection on the Arctis 9 type c instead of micro a, such a wasted opportunity to be the perfect headset.

The Arctis Wireless pro seem amazing but I have a question to ask that will determine my purchase. Can I have them connected to my laptop and my PS5 at the same time, so I can have audio from both sources go to the headset at the same time? Reason I have this concern is for my WFH setup and I’d like to be able to game a bit or listen to music when work is going slow. Thank you in advance for any responses!

I'm currently having the Arctis Pro (without Game DAC) and I can say these are the best gaming headsets I've ever had. Using them both for work and gaming after that. We're talking about 10-12 hours sessions without any headache. But the cable that's tangling around all day is really killing me. So I've ordered the Pro Wireless, as they seem same (or if not better) than the current ones.
If someone is interested in the Arctis Pro, reply here so we can arrange smth :)
So, how it is after 2 months? :)
@@pragoom1384 still awesome. I'm actually not using them that much currently, but I do daily gaming session for 1-2 hours and I swap the batteries in like 3-4 days. Battery charges in like 30min or smth. Headset is worth the money. Only downside I could possibly see is no RGB, but I guess this is to save battery life. Headset also works perfectly with PS5 (you have to plug in the base in the PS5 usb-A and switch source to PS5)
@@Huku56 Great to hear that. And how it is for work? Do people on calls think that it is gaming headset? I'm worried about the microphone can look like a gaming one? For me it seems that it is the only gaming headseat that can be used for work calls.
@@pragoom1384 I really can't say if people can tell if it's gaming or not, but for sure having a pro mic will sound way better than the SS one. Still for me it's sufficient and the other party is not complaining about my voice / quality of sound, so I'm fine. I just dont have the space and also don't like having something between me and the monitor while gaming/working, so a standalone mic is a NO NO for me.

Not to hate or anything, but try searching how durable those are, because most people say it doesnt even last a year. I would really hate for someone to buy an expensive product and then realize OH its not nondurable and boom its gone in not even a year. I truly do not reccomend it.

Question... with the pro wireless, would I be able to chat through bluetooth via discord on my phone and listen to audio on my ps5? You mentioned that you can listen to audio from both at the same time, but im not sure if the mic would work through bluetooht. Are you able to balance the mix between this two volumes as well? (can I make my bluetooth volume quiet and my ps5 volume louder? The penrose unfortunately does not allow this, and the bluetooth is always about 4x louder than the 2.4ghz connection)
A couple questions if you have a minute!
1. You mentioned you can listen to bluetooth and wireless at once, but can you do the same thing with the headset's aux and wireless? or aux and bluetoot? or all 3 at once? (to be clear, im referring to the aux on the headset, not the dac)
2. Can the headset play audio without battery from the aux port?
I am currently researching the Arctis line and have tried the 7+
The 9 and pro can use Aux while using USB wireless if you plug the aux into the DAC and NOT into the headset directly. The Arctis 7 shuts off if you plug in an aux and i assume the rest of the Arctis line does the same. However plugging aux directly to the headset does not require battery BUT EQ settings will not apply.
This may sound crazy, but could you output from the pro hub to speakers? I'm trying to find a solution that allows me to combine audio from my PS5, MacBook Pro and Windows PC. I'm happy using headphones most of the time but every so often the ears gotta breathe! Also - would I be able to use the mic for video calls on the computers? Thanks for the great content prawn
I think I'm going to buy the Pros but I have a question... do you know if Steelseries is going to drop a new version of this headset or a better one?
Thank you in advance
I don't know I'm afraid.
Bro istg everything I search you have a video on
😂
I don't think you know what "hot swappable" means.
No. You're quite right. They're just swappable. I'm human and make mistakes. That hardly invalidates the entire video.
Imagine purchasing a new release a product in 2021 and it has micro usb.
What would you recommend instead? Genuinely curious not sarcasm as I’m looking to buy 😛
@@rudigerplowman703 I still use the arctis pro wireless... Mostly because my complex setup involving a goxlr limits which "basestations" are going to work... The noise floor is awful sure... But that's kainda the deal with a lot of wireless solutions. Maybe someday Bluetooth will be better quality and no delay. For the time being the 2.4 wireless is what I'm sticking to. I just ordered a couple replacement batteries during the sale. After a couple years of use the headset is still in great condition though not all owners have faired as well with the plastic joints. Mine seem fine. Battery life lasts only about 2 hours after years of heavy use, but that's not much worse than new. The fact you can swap batteries and have one always on charge eliminates the issue for the most part.
My question is how do I skip pause and or reply music with them
You click in the volume wheel
I don't a native speaker and with ur smooth voice I don't understand anything. Even google subtitles can't generates on ur voice :c
Does the arctic pro have two different wireless edition?
I don't believe so. Though there is the Arctis Pro + GameDAC but that's wired
hello, I was wondering if there is a cord in the box that you can plug into a headphone and play with a cord instead of a wireless connection. Or not?
Yes there is and they also can connect to your phone pc and ps4/Xbox one wirelessly and also wired
Out of all of them which one is the best
arctis pro 5 year old headset. Do you think I should buy it or should I prefer hs80 max?
Which on is better for PS5? The 7P or 9? Price is not relevant. I heard the 9 is not fully compatible with tempest 3d audio?
Probably the 7p but the 9x is really good for basically everything
Will the pro model work with xbox series x wirelessly and to its full potential?
Thanks for this video, just what I was looking for. I ordered some Wireless Pros yesterday. Have you had any issues with build quality? Seen mixed reviews for it. Thanks!
No that I've experienced, but then everyone has a story don't they! Never look for negative comments online, people rarely leave a good one. Anyway, mine have held up for a long time and I'm a clumsy heavy handed fool
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thanks for the reply, would be a real shame if they broke considering the price!
@@warheadsteel7 DO NOT DROP THEM THE PLASTIC HINGE IS VERY DEILCATE WHICH I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY IT'S PLASTIC AT $300!!!

Which one is better for gaming?
A lot of people seem to be complaining about white noise, especially on the Pro ones. Can you comment on that and if it's a similar situation on the 9's?
I didn't have that problem with either. People are quick to complain slow to compliment.
Have you tried the new Corsair Virtuosso XT wireless? Would you recommend the Arctis Pro or this?
I have the XT currently. You'll have to wait a week or so for my thoughts, but it seems very nice so far.
@@TheProvokedPrawn Ah, i've been waiting for that review & hopefully you can compare them with the Arctis Pro.
I currently have logitech g935, how better is arctis pro wireless?
Tons
G935 is straight dog
And not a single word about that annoying white noise sound floor of the Arctis Pro WL, while it is in wireless mode? Or about that stupid 3db lift at around 2.5 kHz? Both render this headset unusable for music, and for games which require a high acoustical awareness. I had two replacement units. All of them had the same problems. At this price point this is unacceptable.
Not a problem I suffered with. That's why.
