Previous headphones I had (logitech) only last me a year or 2 max but they were at the budget end costing me £100 max but since I've tried the wireless arctis 7 headphones I just can't go back. I've been thinking about upgrading them to the arctis pro for a while and I finally snapped and ordered them just now. Can't wait for the true wireless experience. Thanks for the review

Agree these are the best Wireless Headsets you can buy. Like the ability to replace battery on the fly. Earcups can be easily replaced and the Audio Quality is top notch. If you are gamer and play on PC or PS4/PS5 this is the go to headset to buy.
My XM5 broke down twice in a row. It was replaced before under warranty and it did the same thing. I'm considering this one rather than paying for a repair and more likely to get broke down again.
Steelseries' top models last incredibly long. I'm currently replacing my 10 years old Steelseries headset with this one. But only because I'd like to simultaneously connect to my phone - which only the new model can do.
I am looking to replace my 3 year old Arctis 7's. Those no longer work because the micro usb charging port no longer works. The pro look great, because they also eliminate that weak part of the design on other Steel Series headphones.
I have had the last generation of this headset and this one it’s by far the best headset I have ever owned I had my last one for around 5 years befor my wife got me the new ones for Christmas
I had the 7+ before, about to get home and open this one, it was on sale at 200 USD, I didn’t really need the upgrade but my bf needed a headset so I’m giving the previous one to him. Steelseries in general is better if you have smaller ears which is such a rarity with out or the box headsets.
EDIT: Bought them recently. It does! Original: One thing no reviewer has mention (so I'm beginning to think it cannot do it), is can it do mixing between two sources from the PC (ignoring Bluetooth)? For example, I have the Steelseries Artic 7 Wireless and there are two audio sources from the PC (Artic 7 Game and Artic 7 Chat). And I could set the desktop/game/music to Artic 7 Game and Discord set to Artic 7 Chat. Then, with my wireless headphones, was a dial on the right earcup that could mix between the two. The pro seems to be missing this dial (maybe it's on the base station)? Can the Pro's do this or not? Thanks for reading :)
@@modiolus I bought them recently and can confirm it does it. On your transmitter box, go to the menu > options > headset > next and then make sure "Chatmix" is selected (as well as any other) > next > done. Then, the volume dial on your headphones to turn the volume up and down, press it (yes, it's a button) and it'll go to the next control you've selected. In my case, Chatmix. Turn the dial to adjust 😊
For such an expensive set there are some pretty big downsides to these: The inner sides touch my ears and my ears hurt after half an hour. The band is too short, so the underside of the ear cups touch the underside of my ears, making them hurt. I miss the ANC of my Bose QC 35s. The volume knob is too easily moved when I am lying in bed. The sound doesn't change enough, and the surround is non-existant in movies...
QC35s are the world's best headphones. Too bad Bose won't build one similar to these in functionality (low latency connection etc). Their system with the janky plug in mic is busted.

good luck man. you actually make great reviews and I hope u hit 1k and then some. I actually bought a pair based of your last video featuring the headset but my only gripe is even with cooling gel replacement earcups they heat up incredibly fast. maybe cuz the battery but more than likely body temperature. i bought the Geekria brand ones but plz let me know if you have had better luck with the Wicked Cushions brand for temperature control. i personally deeply dislike it when my ears get warm like that but the headset is great.
Thanks Irwin! Yeah, I’m experiencing a similar effect with the Wicked Cushions on mine. But to be fair my ears also get pretty hot with my other headphones - it’s pretty hot in California! Definitely can’t wait for the temperature to go down again.
Fantastic video. I bought these headphones and honestly, the only thing I can find to pick on about them is the software. its TERRIBLE, absolutely full of bugs and doesn't work half the time. I had the same troubles on the Arctis 7, as soon as they added Sonar. That "feature" seems to be the root of the issues. The headphones are still top notch tho, comfort and quality are 10/10 every time with Steelseries.
What are the speaker housings made of? My arctis 9x are broken in the swivel portion of the speaker housing where it connects to the arms due to the plastic on metal contact
Can you use it to connect to your tv via Bluetooth? To watch movies and shows? How does the sound compare? Can you connect the box to your tv? Or only a PS4/5?
This headset is very good. I've had mine for years but now it has decided to kill itself. The problem is when the Volume gets high it gives a very annoying static noise. I'm definitely considering buying a new headset but they are no longer in stock. Time to go Astros again.
@raimhyusein I actually got a pair of A40's myself that replaced the steel series wireless headset that broke but, I'm gonna buy another pair of these on Prime day. Lol I actually bought these headphones and returned them because the metal headband really weighed down the top of my head causing headaches. After a good 2 hours of wearing these that was about all I that was all I could take. Its a shame because these are some of the best headphones I've heard up next to the RIG 800LX. Can you tell me does the wicked cushions relieve the pressure of the metal band? Or do you still notice it? Thank you
I never had that issue surprisingly! The Wicked Cushions might help. You can also adjust the headband strap velcro to relieve that tension! Might be worth another shot 🙂
Just found your channel from the Spotify car thing. Awesome content! Just curious, are the pivot points still fragile as some past reviews mentioned? It's the only thing that's holding me back from buying them
not sure for the pros but my arctis 7's are fragile on the points i mean if you throw them they likely will break but for regular normal use they won't & are fairly solid
I have the steelseries arctis 9x and it had horrible connectivity. Always cutting in and out and making my voice sound choppy. Do you have that issue with these headphones? Also are you able to use them with Xbox, pc, Playstation, and any Bluetooth product?
Great review but you should have mentioned the white noise problem. I tried your solutions but white noise is still there and it is pretty annoying. I don't know why nobody mentions this problem. I think steelseries sends their hand-picked products to youtubers and twitch streamers.
Hey, thanks for the comment. I actually remember when I first got the headphones there was white noise. But as I started using it more and more I stopped noticing. Perhaps it’s because I swapped out the stock ear cups? Or maybe there’s a break-in period with the drivers? Also Steelseries didn’t send this out to me - I bought it with my own money when I had less than 1,000 subs, so no bias here at all.
@@JoshuaChang Do you really think that replacing the earcups could solve the problem? Because I remember your video and you said your ears were too close to the driver housing and it causes pain. Maybe original earcups are too close to drivers and that's causing the white noise to be louder? Just an idea, I don't wanna return my arctis pro but this problem is really annoying and here I am trying to find a solution.
I actually think it's people with smaller ears that have issues. I have big ears that make Josh's ears look like baby ears. I think they fall completely outside of the center which is where smaller ears would make contact. I like the OEM earpads because they are breathable. YMMV.
please, my Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless does not have a hole to reset the headphones, and cannot connect bluetooth to the DAC because it has an error, can someone help me?? there is no damage to the headset because with the AUX cable connected to the DAC, the sound is going well just a software problem on my headphones, I am frustrated how do I reset my headphones so that they can use bluetooth. someone can help???
I got the razer kaira pro ps5 version. I love the headset! Sound stage is great as far as fps games and story games/music and movies are awesome on them as well. The haptics are great imo I use them on low. Great mics both of them also works on Bluetooth but you can’t hear both at the same time you have to swap back and fourth. That’s a deal breaker for some people but it works just fine for me. As far as sound though this headset is really surprising. They did a great job and made a great headset for the ps5! Check em out. You can still play the game while taking a call or listening to your phone, just can’t hear them both at the same time. If this Bluetooth method works for you I think you’d really like the headset, stay safe all!!!
You are gaming and have a in-game party chat. You receive a call through the bluetooth, now you are talking to the person in your phone, does your gamechat party still hears you? if so, can you mute the party chat and not the call?
Good question. In my experience, when a call comes in on my phone, the headset recognizes that the microphone is being used for the Bluetooth call, so it switches over to that seamlessly, and “mutes” the microphone for the other source (in-game chat, discord, etc). Then once you hang up the Bluetooth call, it automatically reverts back to whatever it was being used for before.
@@JoshuaChang Thank you for the explanation, I looked into the software options and actually there is a toggle to activate this functionality you are just mentioning. Thanks!
i have the arctis 7's rn & have had them since 2018 & i think i might upgrade to these in a year or so mainly because the battery in them literally won't charge anymore & it's been like this for about 9 months :// but yeah i think these are great but 380 euros ehhh idk man that's a bit much in my opinion lmao 300 sure but yeah :/ i think i may try to get these from someone reselling them in new condition
I may be in the minority here but I'm I the only who thinks steelseries headphones are garbage when it comes to sound quality compared to other premium headphones? I've had 3 steelseries headphones now and none of have impress me when it comes to sound quality. I've had the siberia 840, arctis 7p and recently this pro wireless. I picked up the pro wireless and the GSP 670 from Sennheiser to choose one of them since I've heard they are two of the best. I must admit, it's not even a competition when it comes to sound quality, the gsp 670 sounds so much better that it makes me wonder why do people use headphones anymore? Is it because of convenience or features? Because if it's because of sound then I don't understand why anyone would choose the pro wireless over say the 670 or audeze penrose or evn the audeze mobius.
Amazing video Joshua, this really helped for my PC settings. Just one question, on my PS5 the audio is very different. The transmitter has the latest firmware (with the PS5 source) but the audio volume is substantially low and i mean, very low. The only way I seem to get higher volume is putting all eq setting to max but the sound is terrible. RE Village is the main reason I bought the Pro's but the low volume really messes the game immersion. Do you know any fix for increase audio volume while maintaining the amazing Pro's sound quality? Thanks!
Gotta get an HDMI optical adapter (Best Buy has an insignia brand one. Astro also has one). This brings the optical feature back which is where the killer sound comes from.

There’s no sound mixer? Sometimes I like to turn down game sound and keep chat on.
How do I get a replacement base station?
Can you save EQ profiles to the headset? With the Steel Series Arctis 9x you can push the power button once to cycle to the next EQ profile.
Yes, you can.
Just got the ear pads since I just ordered a pair and I have pretty big ears and had heard that they hurt some people so thanks
I actually think it's people with smaller ears that have issues. I have big ears that make Josh's ears look like baby ears. I think they fall completely outside of the center which is where smaller ears would make contact. I like the OEM earpads because they are breathable. YMMV.
@@miscellaneousdanger Glad you can enjoy the base ones but I was not able to and I have fairly big ears. I love the replacements though
when were these headphones released? anybody know? I see youtube videos as early as 2018
They were released in 2018 but Steelseries made another version in 2020. For my knowledge they only changed the design.
please, my Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless does not have a hole to reset the headphones, and cannot connect bluetooth to the DAC because it has an error, can someone help me?? there is no damage to the headset because with the AUX cable connected to the DAC, the sound is going well just a software problem on my headphones, I am frustrated how do I reset my headphones so that they can use bluetooth. someone can help???
How far can you go with the bluetooth connected?
For such an old headphone, it’s still so good! Steelseries blew competition out of the water for $300 price range!
Not really it's really overpriced for what it is.
@@OfficialEthern1ty I promise you it’s not this headset will be working long after others have died
Thanks!
I dont have bluetoothe on my computer...... is that going to be a problem?? thanks
I have those same earpads no cap
i can't get my engine setting connect to me headphone. Is there a way to fix it ? thank you
How u get the chat/ game mix dial to work on pc, works fine on a PS4
How did you find the constant hissing sound?
Great review! Makes me wanna buy one, if I wasnt broke :P
Are they really hotswappable or does the headset turn off?
what material is the headset band made of?
Can you compare it to the cloud II wireless?
great video👍🏻
i have the arctis 7's rn & have had them since 2018 & i think i might upgrade to these in a year or so mainly because the battery in them literally won't charge anymore & it's been like this for about 9 months :// but yeah i think these are great but 380 euros ehhh idk man that's a bit much in my opinion lmao 300 sure but yeah :/ i think i may try to get these from someone reselling them in new condition
In my opinion anything over 200 is too much
Does this headset have a chat mix control on the actual headset and not only on the module?
Yes. They’re amazing!
Because if it's because of sound then I don't understand why anyone would choose the pro wireless over say the 670 or audeze penrose or evn the audeze mobius.
my pc doesnt have bluetooth can i still use it well?
Does the surround sound work with PS4 and PS5?
Can i go full wired with these Wireless Pros and get a better Wow effect, like there is with Wired +Dac versions?
Hi, there's the Arctis Pro + Gamedac which is basically the same thing as these but wired with a 24 bit / 96 khz Dac
Artis pro wireless or nova pro?
Do you mind sharing your EQ for valorant?
brooo you so underated time to blow you up!!!
I seem to have problems with the mic volume, people keep telling me that my mic sounds low on the ps4 and I have all the values all the way up
this is super random but I’ve heard that music in another UA-camr’s outro and have been looking for it forever… what is that song??
also nice review 👍
How do you connect to the engine?
This brings the optical feature back which is where the killer sound comes from.
yeah what Brandon Packer said or you can see if your TV has optical port and supports sending the signal out
But u cant play 4k 120hz with extracter
Does this work with PS5 and XBOX SERIES X???
Does this headset support chat mix feature?
Yes.
Anyone know if I can use these wirelessly with my Xbox Series X? I know you can use it via cable from headset into the controller but I need it be wireless.
Can i use this on my phone?
Do they have Noise Cancellation?
Hello guyz I have bought this headset and I can't manage to connect it to my Xbox ( that doesn't have an optical output )
I did connect it to the controller but with no mic and well it's not wireless :(
