I grabbed the Arctis 5 about 2 years ago and it's my favorite headset I've ever used. Now, I've switched from gaming primarily on PS4 to PC, and I'm ready for a wireless headset. I've got my eyes on these, because I already love everything about the Arctis 5. My wife has been hinting at getting these for me for our anniversary at the end of the month.
It worries me that you contradict yourself when discussing the bluteooth in the function section and in the sound section. 5:35 you talk about a small lag when using the headphones with bluetooth and in some games. You also can't use them for editing, because bluetooth lag. 11:39 you talk about using them when editing because they work for editing. You also don't mention the lag any time in the sound section, which for me, would be immensly important because I don't want sound delays when playing an online game, or any game for that matter. I was thinking of going for these but after hearing about a possible small lag in sound I think I'm going for the arctics 7 instead. Which you have a great review of!
To me, the swappable batteries of the pros are a big plus as I always seem to forget to plug my headset in. However, just having the Bluetooth would be a nice step up from the Arctis 7 that I have now. I would love to be able to listen to music or audiobooks or podcasts from my phone.

I was kind of looking for a headset for over a month now and just last week(evening of sept 29) on steelseries website, I was just trying to check how much the shipping to my country would be and got surprised by the discount. I was reluctant to buy it as there were no reviews yet but I said fuck it, it's steelseries. It got delivered oct 2 and my girl tried it on and love it, so I tried to get another one but was already out of stock and the $40 was gone, but there's still some $20 something discount and a new arctis 7p and 7x.
Great review! I’m torn between arctis nova 7p vs the arctis 9. Both are worth $158 in bestbuy right now. Gonna use mostly for gaming, ps5, switch, and the bluetooth helps too. I think the nova 7s dongle is just more versatile and can even be inserted below the nintendo switch on the go. Wont be the same with the 9. But 9 seems better overall. Anyone got thoughts on the two?
Ok here's my opinion: Arctis 7 - Best Value Steelseries wireless headset. Arctis 9 - Best wireless headset available from Steelseries right now. Arctis Pro - Could be the best, but let down by the wide spread defect cracking. I would go an buy it right now if it didn't have these issues. Overall - I love and only use Steelseries gear, mice, mousepad, keyboard and headsets. I'll be picking up the Arctis 9's to replace my 5's - no issues with the 5's just want to go wireless.
@@PeterT03 yeah it’s such a shame I really wanted the pros... however I got the Arctic 9’s yesterday and they are amazing, my only, and only complaint is the buttons are in different places to the headsets I’m used to (the Arctic 3/5/7’s) but I’m sure I’ll learn it, definitely recommended from me 👍

@@iajato he explained it good, Arctis 9’s have immersive bass and the g pro x’s have hard hitting slapping bass. Honestly i use one headset for gaming (arctis 9) and the Logitech g pros for music.
The arctis 9’s are immersive and make you feel like you are in the game... whereas the Logitech g pros send sound directly to your ears (stereo). Both headsets have awesome sound quality though
I actually bought the Arctis 9 and returned it. It’s not loud enough. I was spending all my time trying to make it louder lol. And my hearing is fine. Plus it automatically turns the sidetone off when on a call and you can’t hear yourself talk which means you blur your speech lol. On top of that when you switch it to PC it drops the volume down even lower. Plus any time you answer a call it beeps insanely loud. The build design is all it has going for it. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 is a better product and has the same features and works perfectly fine. It’s just a little more “plasticy,” but it also costs $50 less. The Arctis 9 also has periodic static pops that give you a headache. It’s an unfinished idea, and steelseries halfassed it. Go with the Gen 2. It does exactly the same thing except everything works like it should.

I got a set of these ordered and coming in tomorrow, I’m pretty excited about them and confused to why the aren’t being pushed for the Switch. I had to do some digging to find whether or not they even connected but these should be perfect for what I want since I’ve been obsessed with Monster Hunter rise but feeling wasteful (with my electric bill) booting my gaming pc just to use discord. Dual audio with my phone for chat and a wireless connections sounds like a perfect solution to me.
I would be using this for a deployment...is it a good option for video chat, music on a plane, and watching movies? These are the main uses I need it for.
Congrats on 100k!!!! 🥳🥳 I couldn’t think of anyone who deserves it more, u work so hard and are the most entertaining you tuber I have came across, a genuine guy, and some of the best UA-cam work I have ever seen enjoy this amazing milestone, I couldn’t think of anyone else who deserves this as much as u much love ❤️
I would pick the 9's. I just returned the Pro Wireless. Too expensive for sub par performance in sound quality especially on the PS5. I am only hesitant to pick up the 9s since it not fully compatible with the PS5.... i would loose the Game/Voice chat balance wheel and the DTS wireless surround sound... not to mention i would be stuck with a product that still has a Micro USB port in 2021, at a price point of $200. Unfortunately i need the simultaneous Bluetooth connectivity since i play cross platform and use my phone for discord or Xbox app for party chat. My only other option right now is the Audeze Penrose but i am not hearing many good reviews about it. I am hoping SS releases new headphones soon that have better compatibility with the PS5 and uses a USB-C charge port. I really like their look and comfort. Anyways, as always, great review bud!
Steelseries are definitely gonna sponsor you after this vid😂. Real genuine 💯. Definitely getting these for my setup Edit: ayo just bought it and i am telling you it's perfect idk how to even explain how it just is and if u still searching for a headset and u got the money.....what u waiting for go an get it😂

@@hpvrstuff3659 me too. But bluetooth is slowly going away for gaming headsets because for gaming bluetooth has seriously lag. It works well for phone conversations and listening to music, but for zero lag gaming audio, it is bad.
I tried a few of this style type headband but alot of people have complain that the top piece of the headband is not adjustable so it pulls up on your head so the inside band doesn't do much. They should make the outside band adjustable add cushion and get rid of the inside adjustable band
Can you connect the Bluetooth to your phone to play the music or answer calls on your phone while simultaneously receiving the computer sounds through the 2.4 receiver? I have the Arctis 3 Bluetooth and can do that which is why I have yet to upgrade them. Lovely review btw, actually saw your blackshark review which lead me here.
Thank you for this review but I have a question. Which ones do you recommend between the arctis 9, arctis 9X and arctis 7P? For mixed use with PC (video editing), PS4 / PS5, and nintendo switch?
Thanks for all the steelseries education! If I use the 3.5 do I get mic function or audio only? I need a headset that can plug in with 3.5 or USB and use the mic. It would be a bonus to work with Nintendo switch and feature Bluetooth. Between the Arctis 3 wireless and Arctis 9 wireless if you have time for a recommendation. Oh! You mentioned that the mic is mediocre, do you have a better headset mic or only if you go dedicated ?Much appreciated Techne!
One of the criticisms for the Arctis 7 was that the volume buttons were very sensitive and prone to being accidentally adjusted. Is this still the case for the Arctis 9?
I'm considering getting the Arctis 9 or the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro. A major priority is comfort - I have some jaw issues that make weight and clamping force a concern for me. Which would be more comfortable?
How is the noise seal while wearing the headphones? I'm thinking of replacing my ANC Sony WH-100XM2, I don't use ANC these days but I still want some headphones that have a good seal to block out outside noise. Also does this have the mic monitoring feature?
I just bought the 9 and watched the vid with it. Rly good quality, no delays, very comfortable. I do wanna know what the left side wheel of controller + and people + mean?
Great review! I’ve been looking at the Arctis 9 or the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 V2’s because I really need that Bluetooth connectivity. Are you planning on doing a comparison of them? The 700’s are 50$ cheaper, but the feature set is almost identical. I’m struggling to pick between these 2 headsets. I know the Arctis sounds better, but I don’t know if the turtle beaches can be tuned to sound as good as the Arctis. The mic on the 700’s is clearly better than the Arctis. I could go on and on with the slight differences. Anyway, thanks for the great reviews!
@@djmervizzzy I ended going up with the Stealth 700 Gen 2, and it was probably the best headset purchase ever! I’m actually selling mine tho because I am switching to earbuds. But the headphones were amazing! The only problems I had after 2 years was the secondary function knob stopped working, and Bluetooth calling was weird sometime. Normal dual audio was fine, but sometimes a call would be fuzzy, only calling though. If you’re looking for earbuds that do the same things, I am now using the GENKI Waveform.
Your review was what I needed to make a decision on my purchase. I'm not even going to use the mic since I have a XLR set-up. Just needed lagless headphones that didn't look gamer ish with the option for bluetooth.

I was kind of looking for a headset for over a month now and just last week(evening of sept 29) on steelseries website, I was just trying to check how much the shipping to my country would be and got surprised by the discount. I was reluctant to buy it as there were no reviews yet but I said fuck it, it's steelseries. It got delivered oct 2 and my girl tried it on and love it, so I tried to get another one but was already out of stock and the $40 was gone, but there's still some $20 something discount and a new arctis 7p and 7x.
kit Corpuz Nice bro! Ima try to get these too they seem really good
@@kitnoman how much does the headset cost?
@@voidstabs8401 $199 without the discount
Bought the Arctis 9 and honestly best choice ive made. my 5th headset and this is the best 1 ive bought till now! Great review!!
I think arctis 9 is better
would you recommend this headphone over the corsair virtuoso RBG? i use it for EVERYTHING like gaming, editing, watching and etc.
love the energy, man!
Does the arctis 9 take full advantage of the new PS5 features? Or should I go 7p+?
You convinced me to buy these! One question, does this come with dolby atmos for headphones?
Yes all headphones do ..
Perfect? I'd go with this headset. They look comfortable :)
Perfect, except no usb-c...

Ok here's my opinion:
Arctis 7 - Best Value Steelseries wireless headset.
Me sitting here with my cracked arctis pro’s lmfao I’m most likely getting the 9’s
@@PeterT03 yeah it’s such a shame I really wanted the pros... however I got the Arctic 9’s yesterday and they are amazing, my only, and only complaint is the buttons are in different places to the headsets I’m used to (the Arctic 3/5/7’s) but I’m sure I’ll learn it, definitely recommended from me 👍
@@JRS-UK I really wanted wireless and I was about to order the arctis 9, but my brother stopped me and told me to get the beyerdynamic dt 990, so thats what im going to try.
@@PeterT03 Yeah, I hope you like whatever you buy 😁 For now I'm super happy with the 9's anyway
@@JRS-UK glad to hear brother, and thank you.
Im really hesitant should i get the 3d pulse, the arctis 7p or this one for ps5? I dont know which one i should buy for the best experience and if the 3d audio will be the same...
Wondering about the same :(
Having the exact same problem!
I'm thinking of just getting the 7p as it was designed with the ps5 in mind and the color scheme goes well with it
@@joshuahernandez3165 the more i think about it same bro
Lol we are all here for the same reason guys. Hope yous are enjoying the PS5! O just went ahead and bought the 7p's - should be here in a few days!

Wish you all the best!
Thanks for the awesome review!! Just ordered my pair of Arctis 9's. Cannot wait till they come in. Been using the Logitech G Pro X's wired.
Literally just did the same, how do they compare?
I'd love to hear how they compared as well, since I'm debating the wireless G Pros
@@mmccoy87 thanks a lot :)
I’m here before 1 million subs 😂. Leave some subscribers for the rest of us! Love your reviews man, ❤️
Who else is deciding between 7P and the 9 for ps5!?
Yea same did u pick what u buying i have the cash but don’t know what is best

Which headset would you recommend for the ps5?
arctis 7.. its the same thing basically just cheaper.

Which sound better to you? These or the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2? And which are more comfortable
Why can’t I find the arctis 9 anywhere only the 9x?
Same thing with the arctis 7
they just restocked!
I had to buy my 9 on the steel series website. 2 weeks for shipping. 7p are sold out everywhere too
I got a set of these ordered and coming in tomorrow, I’m pretty excited about them and confused to why the aren’t being pushed for the Switch.
How were the 9’s when ya got them?
what happened with arctis pro ? seems in reviews that those are superior then these 9 , but you are saying that these are the best for you
i was wondering the same thing
Me too...
I would be using this for a deployment...is it a good option for video chat, music on a plane, and watching movies? These are the main uses I need it for.
probably not gonna win because I live in Norway so probably can't get it.
Best reviewer on UA-cam hands down 🤣
thank you so much
I would pick the 9's. Anyways, as always, great review bud!
recommended windscreen for this headset?

The ending to this video is perfect for me because I kept going back and forth with getting either the pro or the 9. After watching this video review, I think the 9 is right for me
How do these compare to the Arctis 7 (2019 Edition)?
this has Bluetooth for mobile devices that's about it.
@@conceptcs i need that bluetooth
@@hpvrstuff3659 me too. But bluetooth is slowly going away for gaming headsets because for gaming bluetooth has seriously lag. It works well for phone conversations and listening to music, but for zero lag gaming audio, it is bad.

awesome! so glad I was able to help
Just get to the stinking review.
Super curious @The Techne, what your thoughts on the Steelseries 9 vs Blackshark v2 pro wireless? Which would you take sir?
I tried a few of this style type headband but alot of people have complain that the top piece of the headband is not adjustable so it pulls up on your head so the inside band doesn't do much. They should make the outside band adjustable add cushion and get rid of the inside adjustable band
oh man the adjustable band is one of my fav parts :(
you are an absolute legend. Your reviews stand out from all the others like fine wine. Thanks, brother
I just bought these instead of pulse elite based on the store recommendation, did i made the right choice?
Thank you for this review but I have a question.
Which ones do you recommend between the arctis 9, arctis 9X and arctis 7P? For mixed use with PC (video editing), PS4 / PS5, and nintendo switch?
9
Thanks for all the steelseries education!
If I use the 3.5 do I get mic function or audio only?
I need a headset that can plug in with 3.5 or USB and use the mic.
It would be a bonus to work with Nintendo switch and feature Bluetooth.
Between the Arctis 3 wireless and Arctis 9 wireless if you have time for a recommendation. Oh! You mentioned that the mic is mediocre, do you have a better headset mic or only if you go dedicated ?Much appreciated Techne!
Is the Arctis 9 better than the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 gen 2? Will you do a compare video? That would be stinkin' cozy
I've been thinking about changing to wireless for a while now.. I'm gonna go for this headset, thank you!
One of the criticisms for the Arctis 7 was that the volume buttons were very sensitive and prone to being accidentally adjusted. Is this still the case for the Arctis 9?
vol wheel is the same, but it never adjusted on me
I'm considering getting the Arctis 9 or the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro. A major priority is comfort - I have some jaw issues that make weight and clamping force a concern for me. Which would be more comfortable?
which one did you get lol
@@djmervizzzy I got the Razer and have been happy with it.
How is the noise seal while wearing the headphones? I'm thinking of replacing my ANC Sony WH-100XM2, I don't use ANC these days but I still want some headphones that have a good seal to block out outside noise.
Also does this have the mic monitoring feature?
Does the 3.5 work well with the mic in a PS4 controller? Also are these good for music? Thanks techne!
Almost at 100k and still as honest as when you first started (earlier follower here!). Never change!
never will :)
I just bought the 9 and watched the vid with it. Rly good quality, no delays, very comfortable. I do wanna know what the left side wheel of controller + and people + mean?
Great review! You answered all questions I had, and which other reviews didn't answer. Thank you for a great review!
I am in the same pickle which one did you end up picking!!! I would love to know!
