It happens with me and other friends when we do the Yang 108 form, almost at the end, there is a round reverse kick that slaps your hand and in order to make it sound we lower the hand to reach the foot instead of rising the leg to reach the hand. We won't do it again. Thanks for the tip.

When I used to do / teach the CMC Taiji form we'd gently touch our fingers in "Lotus Kick" making energetic connection...when doing form as Qigong practice doesn't make too much sense to bludgeon ones fingers as meridian end / beginning points are in the tips...
From an applications / flexibility perspective, if we can do (inside / outside) crescent kicks slowly, rooting well in the base foot, and with postural adjustment (mainly tucking the pelvis) there is no need to collapse forward to touch the toe. Since legs are generally longer than arms, in order to remain even slightly erect in execution, the knee has to bend a fair amount (again, not talking about front kicks here). I've got a nice picture of my teacher somewhere in this position I'll post of I can dig it up.
The main thing is that if you are standing in front of someone grabbing both wrists and you have practiced touching your toes in "...Lotus", you can use their grip and root and force to enhance your own power while kicking them in the kidneys.
      In theory, of course.
      Love,
      J

single and double hand sweeps lotus leg are what they are sweeps, sweeps to the opponents ankle but only once you have taken him to a position that the weight is off that leg and you can sweep away the leg, with one hand or two hands helping.

No mention of the primary/basic application of the movement by itself... Just lots of BS, yes, BS, about posture and position in regards to fighting. Please stop pretending to know anything about fighting. No mention of hand/foot relationship through dantien, and what is different about this movement from a kick without the slap... That would glean the actual reason why the slap is done. Whether or not you are sincere no longer matters, Mrs. Wollering. You are observably and no doubt knowingly disseminating incomplete, misleading, and false information about Taijiquan.
