My first DLG (Discus Launch) glider, I have alot to learn on launching, my first ever tries are in the video, but its alot of fun, one tiny battery to charge, good exercise, cant wait to slope it!
I bought DF's recommended battery pack, and their extensions, they were out of the wing reinforcement decals, but it doesnt appear to need them for my light launches.
I used Emax ES9051 Digital Micro Servo from Value Hobby, they seem to be holding great, and were only $5.50 each!

Life makes men of boys but modeling brings them safely back.
Nice flying. Cool plane.
Cheers,
Chris
Ahhh the joy of DLGs, you get the plane out of the car already primed up & ready, no assembly needed on the field and just right foot, left foot spin it 60m high and there you go, just you and your plane to have some fun with the thermals.
Gota love it^^
Agreed!! I’ve been craving a legit one next. Full carbon
I bet she could thermal very well! I’ve gotta get one now. Thanks for making me spend more money. Great video!
It should! Thanks!
I have been out of the sport for 15 years. It sure has change. I just may have to get one to start with. Thank you
Michael Contreras Im really happy with it, being my first one Ive been having fun.
Damn man! You made DLG look easy for the first time! I’m wanting to try it, and have been looking at this one hard...
Appreciate it! Im new, but I want a higher performance DLG someday!
Well I got one! It’s my first stab at this DLG thing, so if you want to share any build tips or setup tips I’m all eyes and ears!
Its been so long I dont remember, just whatever I covered in the video is about it. I did a mix using the throttle stick for launching, whatever it needed to go up straight, then lower the throttle and everything is neutral again. I need to get another one
super nice, thx for posting
Hi John ! Hope you are doing well ! Watching GB's video of Skynetic Shrike and for some reason YT popped up this old video .. glad it did ..
Being at home as everybody now - made some progress on building HK/VQ Tiger Moth - and gained some pounds in process ..
(f... it - weather is so nice ..) Will dig out my old trusty Libelle and try to spend some time in the open - not shooting for any height record - just throwing practice .. maybe bring portable speaker with "Twist and shout" and "The Knack - My Sharona" ..
Thanks! I don’t have this anymore. But I’ve been jonesin for another dlg
a bit of right rudder is needed for a right hand throw, to level out the wing and prevent the left roll during launch.
Thanks.
Is that GBLynden's RC holding the cam?
How long did it take to put together??
Coooool. Man. !!!
Good fun so they are :)
+Russell Whittam yeah, I must get out with it again soon
Would launching over a plowed field give you a thermal? As well, you might try launching it with a long rubber band.
How much weight does it have??
that thermal was over the hard surface street..........if you watch birds they almost always fly over hard surfaces..
Wish it came complete with transmitter. For a beginner choosing the right one is confusing
When it comes to RC aircraft, find a local AMA club and ask about transmitters. Buying a transmitter is almost like buying a car. You need see and hold them 1st. I know people who swear by Jeti and others who swear by Futaba etc... it also depends on what future aircraft you might get into. Something like that you can get away with a 6 channel transmitter, other aircraft require a transmitter with 8 or more channels. If you get into RC aircraft you will end up with multiple aircraft. It's way easier to have 1 transmitter for all of them.
sping pull or pushrods?
+Forjam Pushrods
John. How’s it holding up.
Sold it, but I never had an issue
john, who did you buy it thru, what hobby shop or store
ronald miller man, it's been so long I don't remember where I bought it from.
ronald miller try “dream-flight.com” currently in stock @$120.00. Good luck.
nice flight, how many channels

+JohnVH541 thank u
How my h did it all cost including transmitter
damnit, now I need one, lol
Haha sorry!
Got one, check my channel
+7demo7 Great vid, nice man!
How do you fly dlgs?
Just like any other plane, but their very low weight makes them perfect for soaring and catching thermals! If you need more info, check RCGroups modeling forum for DLG/F3K discussions. There's even a free 1 meter DLG called the MiMi. Ask Frans Bal for the plans!
You sont build it. just fit together. A child can so that
need to get your self a wireless microphone, couldn't heard a thing you was saying holing it at the road side.
Yeah, I really do.
