I have a small cordless drill/screwdriver with an adapter which I use for putting wheel nuts on. I set it on the lowest slip screwdriver setting for initial fitting and finish the nuts off with the torque wrench. It saves setting up the compressor and getting the air gun out. First time I tried this method I had it on drill setting and almost broke my wrist!
I did this once a long time ago, before the cordless impacts were a thing. The first Craftsman 19.2v before they called them "C3", just like RoadKing uses. Anyway, I popped it in reverse, braced myself, and broke one free on my mini SUV. Lined up for the second one, and POW! It broke free all right, broke the retaining screw and backed the drill chuck right off the shaft! Needless to say, I bought the first cordless impact I could find. I was hooked on the convenience with that first lug nut!
Id just like to say thank you for making this video. I have a hot rod that ive been working on and wanted to do a disc brake conversion. Couldnt figure out what axles and brakes were on it. Turns out they were F100 19 spline with the same brakes. This was great to reference for all the same work i need to do. Mine didnt have those gaskets either. FWIW, Dutchman can make these axles in case you ever need them.
Mike to the rescue. Good job guys. I hate it when some body takes short cuts and doesn't do things right. Why would they not but those rear gaskets on that doesn't even make sense to me. I know Moser has 28 spline axles but they were probably more that you wanted to spend. Loving this series on the truck. Its going to be so cool!!
Good job, Roady and Mike. I'm very impressed with that press. I have a problem sometimes getting things into mine. A bigger one like that would be really nice. The truck is really coming on well, now. Little bit by little bit things are progressing well. Mart.
That was a terrific job. Love that 4 way lug wrench, nice and big. Nothing like spinning that wrench clockwise and feeling the nut cinch up. =D One thing I always hated was the smell of 90W gear oil, you get that on your jacket and it is there forever. =D
You make it look so easy. I have to basically rebuild the entire front end, ball joints, tie rods, sway bar on my 2002 Jeep Liberty.I was fortunate to find an entire kit for a total cost of $138.00. Just putting the stuff on is gonna be fun, especially with a bad back.....
I'm going to have to try that Maddox kit. Gotta do rear bearings & seals on the wife's car. Good stuff as always RK! I can picture an engine in the back of that Ford heading for a show.
I thought the sealer tool was supposed to have the smaller circumference facing the seal to stabilize the interior circumference while driving it. Any comments?
You two sure make a great team but Daddy and Little Dirt bike come off the bench and add a lot to the team as well. For a moment I thought we were related. When you said you put the parts away and couldn't find them I thought ah ha my brother. But then you found yours so I knew right away we are not related. Love the truck just not all the work. Thanks for the videos.
No pressure Mike. There will only be about 20,000 views or more watching your work. I'm dealing with nasty weather as well. The 59 Ford truck project has stalled.
I actually think that Lug Wrench is faster and easier to use than trying to find the impact gun, the socket, dragging the air hose out!! And then putting all that stuff away when we're done!!☻
Great to see the wheel back on the Ford. Check another box on the list. Nice work Buddy
Thanks Lloyd!! Always good to get a lil' help from my friends!!☻
The Professor is always there for you!
Yeah Buddy!! Never lets me down!!☻

Thanks Bob!! Yeah you can get the axles but they're not a shelf item, they're a custom build and was 4-5 times as much as a normal axle!!☻
I gotta say you have some real good friends there RK. Pickup sure is coming along very well.
Thanks Larry!! Yeah they're a bunch of good guys, always there when ya need them!!☻
Job well done Roadking, and all your pals!!! You truck is coming along nicely, and looking very sharp!!! Thanks for your update buddy 👍

Thanks Mart!! That thing is a Beast, I think it's 45 ton with a 20 ton Arbor Press on the side of it!!☻
You got it done with a little help from your friends!👍
Yeah Buddy!!☻
It's wonderful to have helpful friends with tooling you may not have.
Yeah Buddy!!☻
That is not an easy job to do axle seal and bearings Thanks Mike🤓
Yeah Buddy!! We had to call in the Pros!!☻

It's very satisfying seeing another piece of the puzzle put in place. Nice work RK and friends!
Thanks Goose!! We we're glad to get that outta the way!!☻
Nice Work !!
Good call with the loctite, with our luck, the housing is wobbled out just enough to let that bearing move around raise hell.
Yeah Buddy!! It's cheap insurance!!☻

Thanks Buddy!! Yeah fogetaboutit, if that Hypoid gets on your cloths ya might as well just throw them out!!☻
Old tire irons and a can of "secret sauce". Old school still works just fine!
Yeah Buddy!!☻

It's a pretty good set for $30 when it's on sale!!☻
@@805ROADKING Awesome 👌
Yay Mike visited! ^_^
Yeah Buddy!! Always good to see Mike!!☻
Nice work. She's coming together
Thanks alot Buddy!!☻
It's always a job navigating around trying to find your bearings......... :P
I would have taken the truck for a ride Road Kings doing a very detailed job A+
Thanks Chuck!!☻
Looking Good R.K.
Thanks Tommy!!☻
You can vary the depth of the seal so it rides on a "non-worn" part of the axel.

Thanks alot Dbut!! We still might be related, there's a whole lotta stuff I put away so it don't get lost or broke and it's never seen again!!☻
@@805ROADKING I may have it but I can't find it either
That should last awhile! 👍
Yeah Buddy!!☻
hello good job
Can you tell me how much axial play you have on the axis, at the bearing?
Greetings ADI

It won't be long before we're complaining about the heat!! It was about 50° here today, so we got a lil' bit done!!☻
28 spline is usually a Ford 9" for a car.
She's a roller now won't be long you'll be cruising around in it
Yeah Buddy!!☺
Hello matey,i dont use an ugga ugga and still use the spider spanner :o)
Hey Mate!!☻
Hey man how can I get some decals like the ones I seen on old car alley
Every one of these videos skip the hard parts, mine is not going in.
Truly a "trooper", my father would of loved that lug wrench action. Thanks for the look.
