This is the best illustrated video in biochemistry that I've ever seen! Such an incredible work!

Even my mother tongue is not English and I'm just a highschool student, I could fully understand the vitamin k cycle! Thanks for a brilliant video!

Thank you! Very helpful! As far as coronary artery calcification.... is that why increased vitamin K is good? Because it allows for the carboxylation to make Gla which grabs hold of calcium. Grabbing calcium prevents the calcification / accumulation in vessels?!?!?!

What is Vitamin K's role in the biosynthesis of prothrombin? or is Vit K only responsible for converting prothrombin to thrombin? I have read in many places that Vit K is essential for the liver parenchyma cells to create prothrombin but I can't find the biochemistry behind that biosynthesis.

Vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors include factors II, VII, IX, X, proteins C and S. And Factor II is prothrombin. However, there are some other proteins that possibly require vitamin K including osteocalcin, matrix Gla protein, periostin, and growth arrest-specific protein 6.
