The first time I played this game, I didn't know shit about DMC. So I thought Dante turned into a robot, and it was the weirdest crap to me. Probably proves that the Devil Trigger model in this game is barely recognizable as a demon.

I never realized till now that this video is from the official singer and real Shootie from Hostile Groove, This is personally my favorite remix of, "Devils Never Cry" but ever since I listened to this song the first time I wondered, Is the choir part and demonic part sung by the same person or different people? It sounds like different people but with editing and good vocals I could imagine it being the same person. I wonder because one day I wanna do a cover of this song and I wanna do it solo. I don’t hate the remix but I think it can be 20-30 seconds longer, the beginning and melodic should have different parts, and the demonic have a few more lines. And also make the clear voice a bit more clear.
If anybody doesn't know why the filter is intentional, I can give a legitimate reason why it is and honestly this makes sense once you think carefully about this song and the original. While the clear voice is not what we're used to, you should expect by now that this theme appeared when Dante was in Devil Trigger throughout the battle and if you know that the DT made his voice sound machine-like which has been a common effect in DMC3 then you will understand the symbolism. Now why it's short and fast paced is because of the fight, constant movement and fast attacks that go so fast which you'll need a theme like this to suit the fight, the normal DMC3 theme probably would not be a suitable replacement. Why there's that well known demon voice from the Lyrics with the human voice is possibly to mirror the fact Dante is going against a pure demon in the fight so unlike the original Devil's Never Cry, the two voices are closer. Lastly that techno tone in the instruments actually matches the plot of the game where it's all about Ultron and machines so that's pretty clever in my opinion. I like this theme for all of those reasons, it has a purpose just like any of the DMC themes but could it have got tweaks? Sure but what would be the point to make it too similar to the original? This isn't about devil hunting so I don't know if drastically changing this Remix and adding the lyrics "Vengeance of passive test, until the grave I will rest" and anything else would work out well in this. Plus I just noticed that "Savage" was not included in the voice that would be expected to say "End the Savage" so it makes even more sense why there's lyrics missing.

The guy who composed this track doesn't make good music you wanna know what else he worked on? marvel vs capcom 1. find me a memorable track from that game and I will show you proof that dmc 5 will have a dlc that adds lady trish and vergil as playable characters. Not to mention the OLD version of subhuman.
Personal opinion on this version; The rest of it? Pretty dang good. But it's the distorted vocals that sort of ruin the vibe for me. It feels like it slows down the rush that the melody is trying to build, and as we all know- Rush is what Dante's all about, aside from style.
It just needs a slight change on thr distortion. I think its that downward warp at the end of "freedom reign" line. Its screams devil trigger dante in all thr best ways. The stagger in chorus progression. The organ increasing in Attack and especially the lack of the human half of this. It feels great despite Devil never cry using the layer of Softnes to clash with the Screaming half.

The rest is okay, I can the see the direction but it sounds like it could be more intense and powerful. This sounds a bit too mediocre beat-box if that makes sense, like "hey here's a cool theme for this cool character, kids!" Sort of vibe. Guess you can only remix a theme so many times... Wish you were in 5 man, it seems like you could've done with a good redone of themes. Dont know why they ever hired that new guy out of the blue when you were THE voice of the series!!

I get that fighter games have to have different music tempo, but all of the DMC remixes don't give off the feeling that DMC3 OST had - classic electro and rock mix with some epic orchestral+chorus , now remade into someting that you would usually hear at a night club. Or in DmC... *blegh*. I'd be glad if CAPCOM would actually bury the DMC series and let Dante finally rest. Seeing game series I loved as a kid and soundtracks that influenced my music preferences (alongside with Chaos Legion's OST) being butchered like this don't make me feel any nostalgia, just pity for the DMC franschise.
It also doesn't have to sound like anything from the original series. It can pretty much be a small nod to a known theme, so it's not really a problem.

Hmm... I actually like it a good deal but wish the melodic vocals were clearer (not necessarily unfiltered).
I don't hate it as much now as when I first heard it.
After about 32 listens, it starts to sound somewhat good.
Takes some warming up to, but it's decent. If it felt faster, it'd be fantastic.
