  • Come along on this tour by motorbike from Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan Island to uptown Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines. This was 2 days into the new travel regulations, requirements, and restrictions. We encountered 2 checkpoints but we were not stopped.
    Mactan Island is the site of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport. There are presently 2 bridges connecting Cebu to Mactan Island with a 3rd bridge on the south side of Cebu City about 80% finished. Mactan has many resorts on the east side of the island. Cebu City, Mandaue City, and Lapu Lapu City are called the tri-cities of Cebu.
    The "Uptown" area of Cebu City is centered around Fuente Osmena Clircle, a large traffic circle with 2 Robinson's Malls on either side. There are several hospitals and colleges in this area as well as Mango Square, an entertainment and restaurant area.

    Yeah the Taliban is making of the media in the us it's a joke to them very cool ride Rod I really wish I could go back to Cebu I haven't been there in a year or more and I have cousins that live there to I consider Lazada more reliable than shopee cause shopee can cancel your order just a few days after you ordered something with Lazada at least when you order something your most likely to get it and I've been satisfied for the most part with the products I've ordered and received but if you save up money for something on both Lazada or shopee that product could very well be out of stock which is annoying to say the least but their cash on delivery system is very convenient and that bridge 🌉 in Cebu that you passed by looks really great

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  3 роки тому +1

      I learned to always do cash on delivery also Jeff as it took some time to get a refund on one non-delivery. It is always a good time to take a motorbike ride across town. A little risk but worth it in my opinion.

    I've been going to Cebu for 30 years had ZERO idea there were two Robinsons on Osmena . Is one of them fairly new?

    • @AmazingPhilippines1

      I lived here for about a year before I realized there were 2 Robinsons opposite each other also. The Cybergate is newer I think.

    I need to know the important stuff like how far apart and where do you find the public restrooms

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  3 роки тому

      LOL. They are very far apart and not well marked so you need to ask the locals and have 5-10 pesos ready to pay for the CRs, comfort rooms, restrooms off of the street. That is one reason so many still pee on the wall off of the sidewalk.

    Rod, you can get a vaccine if you register online in Cebu City or you can ask your barangay.

      Thanks but I will depend on my natural antibodies from having the virus which should last for many years vs the experimental meds that may last for 6 months is appears. I am also very low risk with high vitamin D and C levels, no comorbidities, and I exercise often.
      Ivermectin as prevention and cure is also being discussed in the Philippines and many doctors here and around the world use it effectively for this and it may work for dengue also.

    Light rail would help, park and ride rapid bus system at city level.

    There is a small retail park close to where your video started. Plenty of brand name stores, a Robinson's Supermarket, 7 11, some coffee shops and restaurants. Plenty of choices and extremely cheap. Worth a video.

      That was pretty much the complete ride video so that is how long it took me Brian.
      I presently get most of my vitamins from Healthy Options. They are online and have several stores including in Ayala Mall and SM Mall. Expensive and most come from the USA so some quality control I hope. S&R, similar to Costco, has a few. I buy the kirkland brand multis and a couple others if they have stock. I suggest you bring as much as you can.

      Also, Norway has announced removal of all domestic coronavirus measures. I think Singapore may have done something similar. That means at least some governments realize that we'll all be living with covid forever, and they intend to consider it another flu, or something like that. The rest of the world will follow.

      Sweden never did lock down and has a similar "curve" as most nations with economy destroying measures. It is mostly people over 70 with several co-morbidities who are the most at risk of dying or serious versions according to the data.
