The Rust-Eze cars are voiced by the hosts of the long running radio show Car Talk, and the "Don't drive like my brother!" bit was their signature sign-off. And that's, blessedly, everything I remember about Cars.
I miss Click & Clack (those were the nicknames of the brothers on Car Talk). They were such fun to listen to on Car Talk. It was really fun that they got to cameo in Cars, and I was one of the few NPR-listening kids who knew who they were! If anyone's interested, you can find their stuff at cartalk.com
these are the same people who, in a voice chat, shattered my childhood by painfully explaining to me that in Cars 2, Mater is a super secret spy for the British government and McQueen is trying to stop a deadly terrorist attack from happening during a race in Tokyo. thank you for enlightening me on the horrifyingly disastrous masterpiece that the Cars franchise was. thank you for ruining my childhood, friends. lmao
The cars movies seem weirdly ableist too, like the first movie all the rusty bois are literally falling apart so to age and probably lack of funds for repaint and repair, aka disabled and/or poor/homeless and are teeated like actual scum by lightning and framed as gross and annoying by the movie. Second is just outright disabled people that need to resort to the black market for the parts they *need to keep functioning and living* are the bad guys because, uh, they shouldn't be outdated, poor and/or disabled? So weird
someone needs to PLEASE (I’m begging you) draw the anatomy of these cars if it has been confirmed that they have human organs and therefore would have life insurance rather than car insurance

mcqueen actually was unaware of the terrorist bit for most of the movie
Jenywlfersn I’m not adequately informed on this movie, I need to do more research
Also, someone got payed 300k for naming the movie, Cars.

To be fair cruz was trainung by herself and later with mcqueen and the reason she won in the end was because of storms hubris.
