  • Part One of a two-part video comparing the New King James Version (NKJV) and the English Standard Version (ESV).
    This video provides background information on both translations. It then discusses the readability of each, concluding that the ESV is easier to read. Finally, it presents evidence that the NKJV is more literal, at least in the New Testament.
    Part 2 ( • NKJV vs ESV, Part 2 ) will contrast the source texts the translators relied upon, then present a few examples of where the ESV and NKJV interpret passages differently. It will also provide a brief survey of facts one should consider before choosing one of these translations. At the end, I will illustrate a
    graphical method a person could use to help decide between two translations.
