    I'm so curious to know: 1. does "sponsored content" (aka videos featuring products that were gifted from brands) impact the perceived "luxury" of the brand to you, and/or your personal desire to purchase the product? 2. what brands do you find yourself going back to time and time again, even after having negative experiences with them, time and time again? I know we'd all love to hear your stories!

    I’m so glad Teddy Blake moved away from their Hermès dupe strategy. That being said, I think it’s close to impossible for the brand to erase that phase from customer perception… I’ve been tempted to order from them a few times. Some of their bag styles really speak to me. Looking forward to hearing your review a few months down the line.

      Same! It's interesting many still remember their "dupe phase" and there's still the lingering effect! I also wonder if it's possible for them to create designs where we won't be like "oh now this new bag just looks like this so and so bag" haha. Because there's only so many shapes/styles you can make!

    Congratulations on your new Teddy Blake bag! I just unboxed my Kim Lizard 9" and Cardholder in the stampato leather and i am really enjoying both! I would love to try a stampato bag next! Great colour choice! I initially requested a lizard embossed bag in blue jean but it was not available so i went with black but i still think its a great colour!

    Well, let me try posting my comment a 2nd time then.
    My thoughts fter watching the video:
    The lilac bag was absolutely gorgeous.
    I was curious about your thoughts on the price point, do you think it's worth that? Would you purchase it for what they sell it for?
    In general Teddy Blake is trying to be a luxury brand but. Up to this day they still haven't managed to rebrand themselves from their Hèrmes dupe days, not the most reliable customer service, lack of their own signature style or design, no physical store.
    I think with the way the public perceives them they should embrace to be an affordable but impeccable quality type of brand, in my initial post I said that their starting prices should be €150,- but upon rewriting my comment I think a lower price wouldn't be that bad. It's quite common for people to write them off as a brand you'd see at TK Maxx, I personlly don't doubt that the bags are good but I do wonder if they're 300-500 type of good and with each review I watch I get the impression that it isn't.
    I mentioned the lack of a physical store as I do believe that no matter what time we live in having a physical store for pricey items is still very important. It shows that the brand is approachable and wants to associate with its customers IMO. Even if it's only 1 store somewhere in Poland it matters I think in the whole presentation.
    If they'd lower their prices and focus on impeccable service that would change their look in a positive way.
    Lastly, I was thinking about the brand Polène that's super hype right now, they came out with their OWN house style and design and it immediately set them apart even though they also have a history of not having the most reliable customer service, their brand is visible, you can visit them in store it aids I think in the way they're perceived by customers.

    My previous comment was removed, how unfortunate! I wonder why though? It wasn't much different from the other comments just a longer post.

      @@abriefcaseofluxury Ohh then it must have been UA-cam? I didn't use any trigger words or anything a bit odd. I give it a 2nd try.

    I think unboxing can be helpful in some cases, like to see how true the color looks in real life, the size of the bag, how it looks on the body, what fits, etc. Also yes some of us are just nosy and want to see what people buy 😅 obviously unboxings can’t provide info on how a bag wears over time or how it fits in your lifestyle, so I understand what you are saying. Just want to say I don’t think unboxings aren’t useful!

    • @abriefcaseofluxury
      @abriefcaseofluxury  4 місяці тому

      I actually did not think about it from that perspective, and that is so true, now that I'm thinking about it, I watch unboxings to see if the item passes the initial smell check lol, to see if certain items are worth keeping on the list. Thanks so much for sharing and I'll keep that in mind!!!

    I remember those early days of people claiming Teddy Blake is older than Hermes and that H copied them 😅😂

    I have had 2 teddy bags, one my sister ran off with she loved it so much, and the 2nd I got from a friend. I love the bags but even on sale i want them a bit less expensive, it's just at 400 I can buy so many other bags

    • @abriefcaseofluxury
      @abriefcaseofluxury  4 місяці тому +1

      I did think it was interesting that their price range is actually quite small and identical, across ALL the different sizes and styles of bags. You're right, if they really want to go the fair strategy route, maybe a little more dispersion in their price would make them even more attractive!

    I think a lot of sponsored content does lower the reputation of a company, but I don't buy from high luxury brands very much, and I'm more forgiving on the contemporary range brands I tend to stick with. Polene seems to have been fairly successful in doing a lot of sponsored content but still maintaining a good reputation (in the contemporary space). I think one thing that sets Teddy Blake and Polene apart, though, is Polene really has its own designs and created its own identifiable aesthetic. When I think of Teddy Blake, I mostly think of copycat designs so even though it's my price range, I'm not very interested.

    • @abriefcaseofluxury
      @abriefcaseofluxury  4 місяці тому

      That's so WELL SAID. Polene is a great example of a contemporary brand, that may actually pull off edging from "contemporary" into at least the mid tier luxury space (which they are already attempting with their price increases), but you're right, one of the key differences is Polene came out the gate (as far as I know) with a unique "Polene" aesthetic and vibe, with bags that are numbered instead of named, etc. It was a risky move for sure, but now their designs are so recognizable and iconic in their own right.

    Luxury is different for everyone . Some think having a really nice Coach bag is luxury and others Hermes . Luxury no matter what it costs should make you feel special . When it comes to brands like Hermes , Chanel do I feel that they are worth the cost , no , do I think most times people continue to buy them for the prestige of their name, yes .

    • @abriefcaseofluxury
      @abriefcaseofluxury  4 місяці тому

      I think we tend to confuse "luxury" with similar terms like "prestige", and probably most importantly "designer"! In that sense, it sounds like you're saying designer brands can be (typically are) luxury, but luxury doesn't have to designer!
