I just got done seeing Mckenna on American Idol. I was teary-eyed through her singing Tumbleweed. Hearing her mom sing the same song here just left me crying and getting goose bumps all over my arms! Mckenna is singing with all her heart....just like her mom! She looks so much like her mom, too! I'm so happy she found her birth family. I just watched American Idol which I DVRd and saw Amy’s daughter singing this song, and I had to see her mom singing it. I cried both times. How absolutely beautiful and haunting. I wish McKenna the best of luck, though I’m sure she won’t need it. Her mom will be looking down and smiling, while holding her hand and guiding her through her journey. I’m still teary-eyed. I met Amy and Derrick in Bisbee and Tucson a few times in 2012-13. They were the kindest people, and Amy was so warm and full of life even just months before her passing. I always tear up whenever I remember them.
