I think it can if you reduce the distances of the rules. I would suggest you join the FB group Mike is very active and he will answer all your queries. Thank you for watching my friend!
Not so sure about these rules TBH. Yet another WI free set of rules that they are now selling for £6 but rules that were chopped by 50% to fit into a free publication yet important rules missed out. Personally I'd rather pay for a proper published rule book than a somewhat botched effort like this. Not very impressive at all.
Hi Edward how are you my friend! I have not playtested the rules yet they have some interesting concepts that I like but if I do not put the minis on the table and roll the dice I cant have a more detailed opinion. But in my experience Rules preferences are very subjective .. for example I know that ADLG - Art De La Guerre is one of the most popular rulesets out there I remember I tried them once and I ''hated'' them..;) Thank you for watching my friend!
@ Yes I agree. It’s hard to say without trying the rules but the Wargames Illustrated approach to publication I’m not keen on, as I said I’d far sooner pay for a proper publication of a full set of rules like Barons War or Test of Resolve etc. I agree to about ADLG, it’s yet another derivative of DBM which, along with DBMM and even DBA, are all the same stable of “tournament” games. As you say the rules are very popular, number one in the tournament community, but for me they are just dull, more like playing a game of chess with medieval figures. I’m really interested in the new Midgard Heroic Battles rules that release soon, lots of very interesting mechanics. I plan to use them for some larger Barons War battles. They have rules for heroes and even magic but you can leave those out. There are already lists and supplements planned for 100 YW and WotR.
@@Edward-Plantagenet totally agree with you on both of the above points! Regarding this new Midgard rule set I am curious I will purchase the rules when the PDF version is released and for sure I will review them on the channel. I was not aware they are preparing HYW supplement sounds interesting.
@@MedievalWargamer PDF will be available on 18 November from Too Fat Lardies website. There is a very thorough explanation of the rules and a full game play through on the TFL You Tube channel too.
