Can you believe that government had Jessica Lange testify about farming and farm issues just because she was in this movie?!! What the hell! Just goes to show our country was nuts even back then! She’s a Hollywood actress that played a part and they actually wanted HER feedback! 🙄
Lange's and two other female celebrities and no I can't believe it. I had to research that for myself. Unreal. And, of course, it's Republican policies that strip farms from families that have owned farms for generations.
🤬🤬🤬
Jane Fonda went overseas during the war and actually did something that is considered treason. Did anything happen to her? No! Actors are only storytellers. People treat them like Gods.
@@jackbaldwin3649I don’t know about that. When FDR was president my dad told me that their neighbors had their pigs killed by the government so the price of pork would go up. Then again, FDR was a crooked SOB!

Jane Fonda=🤮
If you want to know about farming practices, I suggest you watch Dominion, Earthlings, Earthling Ed's and or Joey Carbstrong's investigations.
This film is beautifully shot, like a painting.
This film is an old phone but I have to say that this film is perfect timing for all the farmers out there out there that has been fighting for their land for generations before Farmers there were native Americans and the list goes on and on but like I said this film could not have been put out there at more than a perfect time than now whether you own a farm or just your own property or you're trying to make it with your family from day to day our government has a way to step in a klusterfuk excuse my language but it's the truth each and every one of us out there know it's the fact of the matter if we do not all come together to fight for what is right and fight for our freedom and our families our government will screw up even the most prettiest heartfelt simple things if we let them me myself I'm an old farm girl and I will never give up the fight for anyone or give up the passion that I know that was instilled in me since a child it never mattered what side of the fence you were on what race color but what we're seeing today are great-grandfathers ancestors and so on and so on will be turning over right now speaking to all of us I'm asking us what the hell are we doing why are we not fighting are government is corrupted that does not mean that we have to follow suit God bless each and everyone out there
I farm periods. Would you like to buy a few? . . .
I'm willing to fight if you are
So sadwhat this country has done to farmers and the rest of us that depend on it😢
Support your local farmers!
If you gripe about the farmer, don't talk with your mouth full
This is why farm-aid kicked off in the early eighties to try and help the farmers , If you had loans from the crooked fha you were a sitting duck !
God bless Willie Nelson and I'm not joking. I've seen him three times. I'm a fan for life.
Go do a deep dive as to how much of that money small farmers received. Will make you sick and not very happy. Big time scam.
I like how they use to raise farm animals like what this movie shows and hopefully there's still a lot of farms like the ones shown in this movie.
I like how they respected hard working farmers.
I can't stand to watch this movie the government ruined farming.
Pure Monsanto
You must turn it off, immediately then.
I remember my mom used bread instead of hamburger 🍔 buns
I still do all the time, I eat hot dogs on white bread to! Poor people got poor ways 👍
Greed is evil and the downfall of human race 🤬sad but good movie 🎥
Awesome movie - they don't make movies like this anymore! What happened to small farmers like these people? So is this when the horrible factory farms started and the head of the Agriculture says "Get big or get out?"
You cityzens live like Gods because you made this happen to farmers.
Remember folks and other farming crisis can happen at any time including this year
God is everywhere ! DO NOT BE FOOLED ! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Dang good movie, should have way more likes
Audio stopped working just after the sheep were repossessed.
Same, I'm so mad 😠
No, just where Gil threatens the banker at the bar. The audio works after the bar scene. Now, I have to buy the movie! I want to know what Gil said to that crummy banker. ;-)
@@jackbaldwin3649I know that’s right, thank you for the info I was wondering when the audio would pick back up.. I will be purchasing this movie too.
The end left in mid air. There must be a part 2!!!!
J espère 🤞
We're all living it.🍻😂🇺🇲
Nothing ruins a good movie faster than people bitching in the comments.
True but you could always just…NOT read the comments…
Excellent movie - Great cast.
Beautiful movie
POINT OF INTEREST: When a Federal Judge stopped all farm repos, (early 80's) to most people this sounds very admirable, saving all governal loaned farms. But there's knowlege of a farming family that took advantage of the situation, by just walking away, moved to town, then set back and collected rent on 1800 acres at $250 per acre = $450,000 for 5 years = 2.25 million, till the moratorium was finally lifted. Needless to say they never putting a dime back allowing the fields to go into a deterioranted state of disrepair. Mainly weeds and irrigation systems.
Sam Shepard passed away in 2017 and Jessica Lange is still alive.
58:45 sound came back
Great movie, thanks for sharing 🙏❤️
Good Movie Happy Ending Thank You For Uploading 👍
Shame on Wilford Brimley for letting that kid have chew.. he knows it causes Diabeetus 😂
Movie went silent. 😮
Can UA-cam do better? I invested over an hour. And no audio.
There's audio ..so you may be deaf 😂
It does seem to lose audio around the 56 minute mark.
Was the talk too controversial is this why the sound went off
You could actually see what was going on in movies back then, unlike the dark trend nowadays where people look like silouhettes half of the time and you can’t tell what’s happening.
They do that because the acting is so horrendous it helps cover up the shotty actresses and shotty movies these days
Where does the audio pick back up? Aww man
Love you Jessica Lange my favourite movie growing up❤❤❤❤
Jessica Lange my favorite actress in a great movie
Good movie
Excellent film, on aimerait une suite positive...
Watching this half through no volume.
It comes back ❤
FHA foreclose all their debts take all the farm lands. Left farmers broke. Their waiting games pay them big time.
Banks are still the evil in our society.
Why would you bid $28.65 when you could have bought it for $3?! 🙄 Stupid Hollywood not knowing how a basic auction works!
You didn't watch the movie nor do you have any idea what love means. This was his grandson who bid $28.65 to make sure his grandfather kept the harnesses from his family. What is the matter with you? The grandson wanted his grandfather to know this was what he saved, all he had in the world money-wise, and that he was willing to give that up to give his grandfather what meant most to him. Shame on you.
Listen, Chloe…what’s the matter with you that you can’t understand my comment!!? My point was that he could have bought his grandpas harness a lot cheaper than what he did. Shame on you for not knowing how an auction works!🙄😂
He wanted to guarantee he gets it and not fight others for it.
Audio cuts out at 56 minutes 😮

Money isn't the root of all evil, money is an inanimate object. The saying goes "The love of money is the root of all evil." It's been turned around just like everything else in this world.
It's not money. It's the love of money that is the root of all evil.
📌@00:05 Maaan, those are some sorry looking sandwiches.😂😂😂
Those are hamburgers
@@dramachannel2740 Yeah. With little to no effort at all! 🍔😂
@@originalkingalpha5116 How much effort does it take to make a hamburger?
@@dramachannel2740 Buttered toasted buns, oversized lean ground beef, seasoned with garlic, salt, pepper, parsley, oregano, mild red pepper, Dijon mustard, tangy ketchup, sweet salad dressing, fresh tomatoes, grilled onions, crispy pickles, melted bleu cheese; and a couple of pepperoncini peppers on top! This ➡➡➡ Republican policies: "All three actresses decried the farm policies of the Reagan administration as uncaring and insensitive to rural America's anguish." - WAPO 1985 (testimony given to Congress about the plight of farmers)
Regan the father of homelessness did a lot of damage
That's not true. It's the Democrats that push big government on farming.
@@MeadeSkeltonMusicYou are badly misinformed. Agribusiness is a Republican darling, pushing small farms out of existence.
@@Armistead_MacSkye No, those policies were left over from the Carter administration. The left is very anti rural
@@MeadeSkeltonMusicWRONG....
This really was a stereotyped crappy movie.
Why?
I grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin, in the 80s. It's actually pretty accurate. The 80s were a very tough time for farmers.
A matter of opinion...You seem like the type that believes your food comes from the store. Hows that for stereotype?. As a farmer I regret that some of the food I grow goes to ungrateful people like you that can't fathom what it takes to grow quality food let alone run a farm and work 80 plus hrs a week to do it. It wasn't a crappy movie it was a crappy viewer. If you had any depth to your thought you would understand that it was about a government agency that was screwing people out of their livelyhood in the name of profit when the whole reason for an FHA was to help the farmer not screw him.
The Reagan recession was tough for everyone
Great Movie!👍
