- If you follow the channel you will know since the Penn Slammer III was released it has pretty much taken over my rod and reel arsenal almost completely. The Slammer has proved it self to be almost indestructible, lets see how the new Slammer 4 performs on some quality "trash" fish 😁

I am right there with you on the Penn train. I have been fishing in Florida for more than 30 years and 90% of my reels have been Penn. I have a 30 year old International II's that still sees service on a wreck rig.

I bought a cheap on special Penn rod, the warfare model in 3 to 6 kg and 7 foot and it's one of the best rods i've had. From day one I've increased my hook up rate no end. From catching small Tommies, garfish, whiting etc, to jigging for squid, which i cleaned up with using it the first time (7 in less than 1 hour). it's also been great on good sized salmon as well

That mac tuna put a good hurt on that new set up, solid content man. I thought it was a shark because of all the pole bender. But the runs said it all. I know what I'm gonna save up for now.

Hahahaha you’re like me! I’m left handed but I wind with my right because from the first time I picked up a fishing reel, the handle was on the right. I got accustomed to it. I also write with my right hand despite being a lefty lol
Always enjoy your content whether you’re catching trash or trophies. Great review. I also use a 7’ med veritas inshore. I love the penn reels but the selection of rods never really suited what I was looking for.

I'm left handed and do everything right handed. Except for writing. And have my reel handles on the right. Working lures is so much easiest with the left .
Same as me! I write left handed, throw right handed, cast both. Can even 10-pin bowl alternating hands 😂

I have a Penn gear user for over 40 years mate and the new 2500 is just what I need for the land base fishing I do, so glad Penn did this new real as I have been in need of a new combo so will rush out and purchase etc. If you can would like your opinion how the 2500 handles squid? Been watching your channel since you started and love your no frills content and great narration, love your cooking too....keep doing your content which offers so much.....take care mate from South Oz. Cheers mate, yea as a squid reel it would probably last a lifetime. Would be great for land based as you wouldn’t have to worry about it copping the water and rocks👍

Hey mate, love your videos. I’m really wanting to see your rig/baiting style with the treble hook. Can you pleeease do a quick video explain this? Including leader size? You could do it on frozen bait if you’re worried about people being upset with live bait etc.

Ha, I always do that too, hope the first fish on a new rod was something good. If it was a trash fish it was always disappointing. Went to a private lake this last weekend and caught some big Rainbow Trout. The wooly bugger was the champ of the day.

I see you found the refuel pack. It’s awesome. Some of mine work for ages while I’ve had a couple simply drop dead after a few trips. Wish they’d make them for the 9,10.

We don't injure fish for sort....for the so called thrill of hooking into a monster.That mentality disgusts many of us!Your catch and cook ethical fishing is 100% in line with mine and many thousand more. If you lose a few subscribers, then trust us , we will lead other conservation ethical fishermen to your channel! Thats a promise!!

Great review mate, I wanted to get set up for something all round as well as drone fishing off the beach as well as some spinning and like the Penn range, what would you recommend could I get away with a similar set up but a longer rod in the black ops?
