Bi-Han getting bodied off-screen was disappointing, and the Chaos universe was just a generic dystopia. WW2 Johnny was just regular Johnny in a funny costume.
I honestly find NRS' army of chaos stupid as a concept. They describe chaos and anarchy as an evil force, but once you form an organization like this you just created order behind chaos which destroys what they're representing. It just makes him into a Saturday Cartoon Villain. At least with Havik's depiction in Deception, he explains that chaos is like a ripple in a pool of water where the universe is ever changing. It is necessary and unpredictable, but in order for him to get what he wants he has to take some control of the chaos for true chaos to exist in the realm. For instance, lying to Shujinko on forming a deal or having the heroes stand together to fight Onaga so he can use his heart to revive Shao Kahn and create more havoc for the realms. The original Havik was an offscreen manipulator as to why characters always engage in Mortal Kombat. It shouldn't be a good guy vs bad guy trope.
really not liking this multiverse stuff. mk1 had such an amazing and interesting concept before the other verses came in. seeing characters in new roles was such a good move for the series but then they did this.
I don’t understand what they be doing with Geras. Bro is one of the most broken characters and they be having folks he should be able to more than handle take advantage on him
I gotta say, after watching all of the cutscenes to "Khaos Reigns," I liked Havik a lot better when he was a neutral character. He doesn't really work that well as a full on villain. Kind of takes away the whole chaotic aspect of his character. Original timeline Havik is still the best in my opinion, hell, original timeline everything is the best.
On the positive notes, Havik is a pretty hammy guy in this story. Probably not the most cerebral villain of the series, but at least he's having fun. And the chaosrealm he created clearly is not obeying any of the laws of physics, because he threw them out the window, probably cackling as they plummeted into the eternal void. Maybe it was just the limitations at the time, but it's better than what I saw in Deception. On the negative, I think this story relies too heavily on the khaos clones for the enemy roster without making them in any way memorable. How did they come to serve Havik? Why do they serve Havik? Are they actually serving him, or is everyone scheming to take the top spot survival-of-the-strongest style? A couple of lines of dialogue could have made the difference between cardboard baddies we have to knock down, and an actual world of khaotic warriors with their own motivations and personal connections. And we probably could have put Havik over a bit more if he'd casually murdered a few of his henchmen for no other reason than reminding the others who's in charge, and to not get any bright ideas that getting close to him makes you safe from his anger if you even think of crossing him.
Here we go. Sektoria’s chapter notes: • I hate Sektoria and Khameleon. Can they just shut up and fight? Why are they wasting time being catty? Also I hate Khameleon’s voice. • of course wizard Havik is whooping Liu Kang, Raiden, and Kung Lao…by swing his head around…so stupid. I want villains to win fights but not like this! They van barely even touch this guy! What is this? MK9 all over again. Old habits. • oh look Khameleon was frozen by the other Geras. I guess the main Geras could have also done this. How’s he doing btw? Oh yea. He’s barely putting up a fight against two jobbers that he just let snatch him up. • Liu Kang goes down like a chump naturally. He put up a bit of a better fight at the end there I guess. Also, remember this for later. I had an idea about Havik but after seeing this, that’s out the window. • Sektoria goes to blow Havik up but doesn’t immediately fire for some reason. He’s right there. Right in front of you. Is there a load time to the armor? • Sub-Zero once again proves how stupid and shortsighted he is. He jumps through a portal to another dimension, with no backup, and no way home, thinking he can take on a time wizard and all of his goons in their domain. Where is the logic? What is this writing? Why is he so unbelievably ignorant? And if this was part of an arc I could understand it even though that doesn’t excuse how stupid this is. But no. There is no arc. He’s just a one dimensional buffoon to the very end. Are we meant to take him seriously? • love how everyone is on the floor beaten and then there’s just Sektoria standing over them. • once again I loathe this annoying version of Mileena. What a bogus claim she makes about Sektoria being complicit in Sindel’s death. No she was not! And neither was Sub-Zero. Sektoria wasn’t even there! And unless we are retconning a the same story from this game, neither was Bi-Han! The second he defected, he was defeated and carried off by Fauxpion. He never got a chance to assist Shang Tsung! And he never knew about or even saw any of this multiverse garbage! He disappeared from the story long before wizard Shang showed himself! And even if he didn’t choose to join them, he and Fauxpion were beaten and shackled by General Jobber’s forces. Had he not agreed to Shang’s alliance, he and his clown of a brother are likely killed while Smoke waits outside forever like Seymour from Futurama. How did Mileena get the idea that the Lin Kuei were in any way responsible? She was there! She saw who killed Sindel! Want to know who weren’t there? The Lin Kuei. • we cut to a battered Bi-Han being dragged. I’m glad the game at least doesn’t waste our time. We know how this was going to turn out. • once again the Kamidogu has been retconned in what they are, what they do, and how they look. From here on out, “Kamidogu”just means a vague set of ancient artifacts with vague mystical powers from a vague place. So long as any set of relics fit this description they can be Kamidogu. What a joke but that’s what MK is now. • btw, capturing people? Chaining them up? Not very chaotic. Not very freeing. • I hate Mileena but she’s right about this part. When will this multiverse garbage stop? Man I hate this outfit tho. And I hate that she can just have a normal mouth. I guess she has no Tarkat. • Liu Kang is a clown. He wants three people who all hate one another to go on a mission together. But Fauxpion sons proves to be nearly as stupid as his brother as he claims he would go alone. Oh, end everyone from the people in that room to the writers themselves seem to have forgotten that Smoke exists! Remember that guy? Cue NBA YoungBoy because there’s No Smoke! • our “heroes” gets a lead because they just so happen to spot a guy on the run who just so happens to be part of a resistance group and his pursuers just so happen to mention a Cryomancer. Bottom tier writing. • I hate this version of Johnny. And this guy sticks around for no reason. Why did we need him here? • once again, NRS brings up a real world atrocity and they keep doing it. And I have to wonder what Liu Kang did about them. Absolutely nothing is what. Remember that! Before we didn’t have to think about that stuff in MK because there was no time travel and our characters weren’t time wizards. But now? We have to assume Liu Kang just let horrible things happen. And again, NRS keeps bringing it up! It’s not me! Now we gotta look at Liu Kang sideways. • Cianciolo continues to show us obsession with weird fan fiction shipping with Tanya and Rain now being an item. This won’t be the last. • also for wanted men they are way too comfortable with standing in the middle of the street. • FORCING people to fight. How chaotic.
I can watch MK stories all day. I love this new story direction and the multiple universes. You can kill off main characters and still have other versions to work with, of course they cant do this forever but I love MK1 as a whole.

You said it!
Do you think WW2 Johnny should have been serious?
@@franktruth9639 that, or done anything other than flirt and quip like regular Johnny
Bi-Han looked at a whole army with no backup, no other way of communicating through other realms and thought "Nah, I'd win"
Definition of a one-note character.
Bro thought he was the Doomguy for a moment
I get your point but what would YOU do if you were Bi Han and facing an execution on Edenia?
Mileena is irrational kinda.
Johnny looking like Captain America before the super soldier serum

Sektor out here with the sass and bars🤣
I like her she's loyal to Bi-Han
This Story is some MK: Legends Energy written all over it.
"Hype S*** Only" you gotta put that on a shirt or something. 💯
"Oh dear, oh dear...." could be on the back. Would get one for sure if the fonts were well chosen.
Facts! He be having the quotes like a mug. I would buy jt on a shirt or hoodie
@@lordmatthewlukeobrien Throw in a "Who's man is this..who dares claim him" at the bottom and I'm in.
They needa Stop using the word "timelines" 😂
For real I'm like they couldn't find synonyms for timelines haha
If MK2 is another timeline game then Im convinced WB wants to kill MK
It makes me sick every time I hear it. A reminder of how far Mortal Kombat has fallen

NRS needs to stop making chapters character specific because there's no way Cyrax should beat Scorpion
Now I see why Johnny (Jonathan) Cage joined Special Forces in "Mortal Kombat X" with Sonya Blade in the first place.
Umjobbers
This part was fun.
Sektor is Glorious
It’s funny how Mileena was right from start to finish 😂
Sektor needed the airtime, cause the character has been a jobber for years.

I love the way this was typed, and yes, I agree.
Writing really bad 😂
I don't like this Sektor. She's a simp
5/10 khaos realm is cool writing is bad story is uninteresting.
Shoutout to Den for that Kevin Sullivan "Tree of Woe" reference 🙌🏿 👌🏿

Very generous
10 minus 8 is 2, so 2/10
