this is literally the same song formula as nanos hold on. i don't get how she is out and he a favorite to win... i'm not hating on nano, i like this kind of song and the instrumental chorus is maybe even better than loreens and the song is up-tempo which always resonates with the esc community, but Loreen's song is truly unique since she manages to use the same part (words cut but i don't care how much it hurts) in almost all the functions there are in a pop song, first as a pre-chorus then as a chorus and near the end as the bridge and it all works which i think is truly epic. for me these were the two best entries from this year... sad that loreen isn't understood by mello watchers. i hope this isn't another reason to delay the album for warner, since there is a huge international fambase waiting for new stuff, so the mello success shouldn't be used as a unit of measurement to predict her album sales. they should rather use the hype right now to pump the sales up. would be best if they release it before the final next weekend.

I just really like this song and the message resonates with me a lot. Basically shedding my guilt about how things unfold in relationships, and also my unhealthy need for closure. Also the song talks about keeping it real, and not really valuing empty words. I feel like it’s important in a world that just gets increasingly fake and bland over time. I suppose the words could be more poetic or artful. But the message, to me isn’t really a shallow one, and it doesn’t surprise me at all that people often avoid topics that make them uncomfortable or indirectly holds them responsible for their own healing or shallow and emptiness etc etc. In my experience, people would rather have flowery words that mean very little, but sound good, than a spiritual message that asks them to look at their self and see certain inconvenient truths. Now again maybe you’re just talking about how the words themself are plain and simple. But to me, I guess it just came off to me at the time, a little like when I’ll hear people say things like “meditation is boring 😒”. Like lololol okay sure, but you’re sort of missing the point. And more often than not they miss the point on purpose to avoid seeing what’s there because they are deeply afraid of what lies beneath.
