Great display of applying and resisting pressure, the Porsche driver using both the legs and braking advantage but clearly holding you up in the sweepers. He was looking slighly rough after some laps of that and nice work of taking advantage of the lapped cars and forcing a mistake. And what was the Miata guy doing swerving all over the road?
Exactly what I thought ... the GT3 was a little faster but the GTM has maybe a little more downforce ..? (probably therefore also has better braking, but! I lack the courage to pass via brakes in my a car I built!). Great driving ... the suspension setup; it soaks up the bumps while still out cornering a GT3 cup car.

Hell of a drive! I started going down the "I want to buy a dedicated track car" rabbit hole and this may have sold me on GTMs'. My first 24hr race was at Buttonwillow, comparing your speeds to our dumpy little e46 is nuts.
If i had the money and the know-how, I would buy one of these kits to strap a 3 cylinder from a Mitsubishi Mirage to create the perfect Anti-Sleeper car. betcha that would get on peoples nerves :P but then again, this is the internet, they could love it for all i know.

It is a sequential but driven using clutch to last a season or a full 25 hours of Thunderhill race.

You could really pimp it out and get a 3-cylinder turbo from the Chevy Sprint. 70 HP!! (Which is less than is in the Mirage, 78 HP.)

Likely no. The GT-3 was operating at 43% it's dollar to performance ratio. Do the math...
