All of them tell me get a SSD get a SSD get a SSD but i know for a fact that a SSD will only improve game load time and windows performance. A bit late on the reply, but I finally got a chance to install the new RAM and try it out this weekend! It has definitely improved performance. I'm getting more consistent frames and no longer have moments where the game feels like it's freezing when entering a new area or looking through a scope. I'm able to get consistent 60 FPS at a mix of low/medium settings,which considering the age of my computer (built in 2013) is honestly pretty amazing. Running just DayZ now takes up 9GB of ram; 10GB if I'm using Discord. Considering I only had 8GB before, it's no wonder why I was having such terrible performance. Definitely recommend this solution!
He is correct in saying that the SSD WONT increase fps, However... (and i have 32gb of ram) it DOES decrease stuttering in my gameplay atleast, so a dip from say 150-120 fps on a HDD = stuttering but the same scenario on an SSD for me atleast will have no stuttering when the fps dips like that

Right click on dayz in your steam library and press properties. In the general tab you should be able to see the launch options box where you put your command lines.
i have 32 gb of ram gtx 1050 ti and ryzen 5 but i still get fps drops when aiming down sight and i am also playing on all low settings except textures i have no idea what tf to do
"-cpuCount=8 -exThreads=8" is this for all PCs? what about people that have different core/thread counts? I have 6 cores in my CPU. should i still use -cpuCount=8 ?
@@DIMITRI97 it's on an hdd currently, and it does run butter smooth at about 250 frames or so, then gets hit with a stutter or even a freeze for a few seconds
check if ram is in the right slots, in dual channel mode. also check if your gpu isn't faulty and if all latest gpu drivers are installed. do you run on hdd or ssd? what kind of drive do u have

day z is a game about loading things, load a zombie a building an item, thats ram, and yea ssd do a loading faster, any kind of loading.

I re-applied thermal paste to my cpu and that stopped the stutters i had entering towns
that also works because a overheating cpu is throttling and causing big performance issues.

16gb overall. make sure you put them one space apart. read your motherboard manual for optimal ram placement

ryzen 5 3600 and gtx 1660s, both oc'd and i still drop to 60 fps sometimes for no reason...the game has shitty optimization.
