Saving Horses from Slaughter: The Story of Pony Up Rescue

Kelsey Merrow has treasured horses her entire life. In November 2022, she hatched a plan to rescue equines destined for slaughter. The first was Sweet Potato, then living in a kill pen in Western New York. Two months later, Merrow created Pony Up Rescue Collective in Tivoli to rehabilitate horses of all ages, sizes and backgrounds and find them new forever homes.
