- The Xiaomi/Mijia automatic soap dispenser is here. What's special? It's got a built-in, near-field motion sensor that detects your hands. Get the soap dispenser for a temporary great price at GB here: bit.ly/xmf-xmsd
I never thought I'd be reviewing a soap dispenser, but since Xiaomi has one in store... I just had to tell you all about it! And after having it in use for some time, I actually have to say that it's very convenient!
I'm doing so many videos right now, the next ones are already lining up! Stay tuned for many new videos coming up, very soon! ❤
Kids: can we clean ur hands? Mom: just wait, the new soap packages are coming in like a Month or so
Glad you’re back. Missing your what’s xiaomi doing videos!
Love all your videos man. Love from Portugal, keep it up!
Xiaomi keeps impressing. They have more or less every home appliance / gadget you'll ever need. What a range!
But no WIFI??? I need WIFI in my soap dispenser, I really can't live without it.
A fingerprint scanner would be great to, don't want some strangers using my god damn soap.
Zigbee is enough. Then I could check whether I need to reload the soap liquid even if I'm abroad.
no no no. We need face detection because a fingerprint sensor would add bacteria to the device and thats bad 😂
I need LED screen on the top for uninterrupted PUBG.
@@gauravwalavalkar2493 don't forget that we need RGB
Yes! I know y'all want to see those new AirDots! I hear you!
I am STILL waiting for mine to arrive, as Xiaomi seems to be behind on their delivery-schedule by A LOT. I have ordered them on the day of release, but I still have not received them by now.
I am not entirely sure what the cause is, but it seems to me that they just could not keep up with the load of 11.11... As soon as I get them in, a video will be coming up.
xiaomify I can’t for Ure review 😀
This is good if you like the foaming handwash stuff, however if you're using normal handwash liquid just get the Dettol or Lysol No Touch machine from the supermarket, pry open the lid with a flat head screwdriver and refill.
Thanks for the review! One question though: What are the ingredients of the soap that comes with the dispenser?
Do you think it's possible to use a different soap when refilling it?
Welp. I just found my new favorite channel.
You can make your own foaming soap.
Just add 4/5 water and 1/5 regular liquid soap. Mix well and you have it!
You can also try 2/3 water and 1/3 liquid soap. Whatever work best for you.
What about batteries? Can you replace it?
@@nickolasgeorgiou3410 yes
Can I replace soap with liquid Sanitizer?
@xiaomify Anton's helpful comment should be pinned, as there are so many people asking this question
For everyone wondering about the refills, Xiaomi has started selling these recently (here in China) and they are $5.62 for 3 refills (3 x 320 ML flask) so those are really quite affordable.. I haven't seen the price of international resellers but for the local price here it's really not that bad.
Because of regulations they are not shipping them out of China, most seller on aliexpess send foaming device without liquid and batteries, just the device. So, not really practical outside of chine if it cant be easelly refiled with other liquid soaps available on local market...
I got in contact with some sellers on aliexpress, each ended up asking for about 7$ per flask (to germany) because of shipping regulations. obviously the shipping rates for liquids are relatively high.
As the flasks are quite hard to open, I simply drilled a hole in the top to be able to refill them, which works but I wouldn't recommend this, still looking for a better way to refill the bottles without breaking anything.
What I would like to point out: I bought cheap liquid soap from my local grocery store and mixed it at a ratio of 40:60 with water (about 10% more soap then recommended) which works fine
@@back2mind Yep, I just recently got this and I'm planning on drilling a hole on the top and slapping some flex tape so it doesnt leak.
@@1upgamer959 So did you manage to drill a hole and use it successfully? Planning to get it and need a workaround to use it with other soaps.
@@lash179 I drilled a hole in the top and poured in some other foaming soap from Bath and Body works the wife likes. Works really well.
Again, that is foam soap, can I use it with normal liquid soap purchased locally?
You're spoiling me with all your video
Why is there no notch on this
Hello, can i use a different liquid soap with that?
Does this the 6gb version
how do you refill the soap dispenser?
Can you use your own soap or do I have to use the official one?
Thank you!
could you update the purchase link?
@xiaomify nice video, as always! I was hoping that they would make a better cap that was easier to open in the 2nd version, but, obviously, not... 🤔
I think they want to sell the refills ;) Although (in China) those are priced really well actually
@@xiaomify There is a helpful comment by Anton Petrov, which should be pinned. As there are so many people asking the same question and he answers it well
I have one of these from other brand. However, the dispenser auto shut off after 10 minutes or so. I have to push a switch (ubder the lid) to activate it which I don't like. How about this Xiaomi dispenser? Does this dispenser automatically shutoff after 10 minutes?
Can this be used for alcohol also?
hello, is it normal that the dispenser shut down after around 10~15 min (white light flashing) and the only way it works again is touching the switch to turn it on again? if yes that's make it useless if every time you go to wash your hands you have to turn it on 😕. or maybe my one is defective?
'owww Sh*t' hahahaha. It's indeed very small when comparing it with pictures on sites
Where can i buy this soap to refill it?
is the GPU upgradable?
the engine is rusted after 2 years, is there a possibility to buy only the engine?
Not available to Australia. :(
Where can i get if soap empty ??
"Rio MI: Can you find all 16 pies? Tweet your completed" at 2:14
Can you use other soap
Can I use any other liquid soap?
What kind of soap
hello where i can find the user manual
hi there. i just bought this dispenser and one thing i noticed, to load more soap, it is awful to open that darn lid! i can only do it with a knife, and you have to be really careful not to break/cut the lid itself. i also thought they could have made a better job on how you twist to open/close the battery compartment.ONLY MY THOUGHTS!
We have the same problem, can't even open the lid to put the batteries, how did you do it exactly?
Xiaomi gadgets made me broke. Thanks for showing me one more, im way more broken now
me too hugo.
Trust me xiaomi ecosystem will be bigger than apple has
I very much agree.
Yeah
does this mega extra ordinary soap dispenser is PART OF THE ECOSYSTEM? just tell me how/why
My innovation got stolen😂
waterproof?
I got mine two weeks ago and had to change batteries already (the included ones). I thought they are weak because of the long shipping travel through Russia with the train to Germany;-). But today after four days, the new ones (varta brand, fresh from amazon) are generating a blinking red light again, which probably means empty? Any idea why? I never turn it off, just let it in standby, but this is as intended, right?
Thanks for support, your channel is really enjoyable. Good you are back!
I am a user from China, and I think your problem may be caused by the quiver in transportation,or maybe the unfasten of the battery cabin (which probably leads to leakage of electricity;) ,because mine has last for over a year and is still functioned! Have you got any Xiaomi or Mijia custom service in Germany? Maybe you can go there and have a check~:D
I have the same issue. Battery needs replacement every 4 to 5 days. I do not turn it off as well. Might stop using it in case this going to be the case.
@Moritz / Others : any solution for this ? Please share if any.
@@tpbisht no, the red blinking I figured out on my device was not meaning empty battery, but dirty sensor. Some soap was sticking there all the time. Maybe you can check too?
please tell me the price...?
Can i place alcohol instead of soap?
I have a problem..light is there but doesn’t work anymore.
Sometimes i have a Red light and it doesnt work. What can i Do?
Important question: I live in the Netherlands and want to give it to my mom as a gift. Can i buy a particular soap in normal stores to refill it with?? I want her to be able to that herself
You can’t refill it easy, you have to pry open the lid
1st of, good to see you being back. Former Patreon here.
I am missing further info like:
- what is the approximate price
- after the flask is empty, do I refill it with off the shelf soap or do I have to buy a new flask?
emailausdrucker As I live in China I can answer that for you. The price of the unit is 79RMB/11USD, including a flask of soap. The soap itself sells 39.9RMB/5.7USB for three flasks.
Unfortunately it doesn’t allow you to refill the flask by yourself. The opening is pretty sealed. But I guess since this thing sales very good in China now, I believe someone will try to make a aftermarket refillable flask for it.
Hi. I bought the product from an aliexpress reseller. You pay the double price normally about 18-25 usd. Its not so hard to refill the bottle, because the sealing works with a clip. You need a screwdriver and push the sealing upwards. You get the soap dispenser without liquid and batteries.
Thanks for your comment!
I am very much in doubt mentioning the price these days, and I have been doing that on/off lately. Also, the online resellers (where most of my audience will buy them) are likely to double the local Chinese pricing. I might permanently start mentioning the prices again, but with the exchange rates almost changing by the minute right now, there is a fair chance that mentioned prices are totally off two weeks later already.
I had looked at the refilling options but it did not seem viable to me. I guess (judging by the comments) I totally misjudged that ;)
@@simon.. I just refilled mine as it came empty and I must say that it won't last many refills until it gets broken.
I have two of these. Refilling isn't the most user-friendly, since you'll need to use a screwdriver to pop up the lid, but I don't mind it at all
Can I refill the soap bottles? I don't want to have to order replacement soap from China and prefer to use a local brand instead.
Yeah, I can totally imagine that.
I have tried another flask but the one I had didn't fit, so I could possibly try to refill the one that I have now but it takes some time for me to get through it.
Up till now, I could not get the cap top of the soap bottle removed so I am not entirely sure IF you can actually refill it. I also assume the soap should be a special type of soap as this is very watery and not as thick as regular handsoap is. So as far as I can tell you now; you probably can't refill that flask.
The Dettol brand soap dispensers we get here in Europe are much cheaper (sponsored by Dettol) and although I do not refill them (the Dettol soap smells good and are available everywhere) I did modify a spare pump to be able to dispense dishwashing liquid.
I don´t really care about foam or no foam but want the dosage to be exact and hands-free (for hygiene reasons) The Dettol dispensers are only like 1/3 of the price of the Xiaomi ones AND can be modified for other soaps so think I will stick with my Dettol dispensers for now. :)
The Dettol/Lysol dispensers follow the razor blades sales model where the company makes the profits from overpriced refills. That's why the dispensers are so cheap. Of course many just pry open the lid or drill a hole into the bottle, and refill the soap themselves. For me I also keep the foaming stuff around in case I got greasy hands (e.g. Hair styling gel) as the foaming soap makes the hand feel dry afterwards.
But does it have wifi?
we also have this type !
Can you use alcohol for this?
Yeah
Is this the same soap dispenser or a new one?
They had a third-party soap dispenser for about a year, but this is a new Xiaomi-branded one.
Cool
So, what's the difference with the other model...?
the new one isn't as loud as the older one and it looks fancy
how many years the batteries will last ? if you use 20x a day ?
I've been using it for two months now and battey is still good. I wash my hands quite frequently.
One of those videos you hit like within the first 5 seconds
Cool!
In portuguese "Xiaomi mija sabão automaticamente".
There is a tonn of products out there that are much less expensive... and do the same thing
People just buy the Detol one! I know i have asked before but.... is there anyway that we can have a video about their IR controller with small instructions since everything is in Chinese?
The detol is crap and needs more batteries and there comes to much soap out of it.
@@simon.. i have one for almost a year now without changing the batteries. the quantity is just fine. maybe you have a different version one.
Can we use liquid soap available locally . Will it produce foam in that
I have not been able to test that, as I could not get the top cap of the soap bottle removed. However it is a very watery and thin type of soap, so I am quite sure you can not use it with pure handsoap as that is probably too thick. Might have to water it down, if you can even get the flask refilled in the first place.
So my guess would be 'no', but I am quite sure there are some nifty people around that might figure out how to get it refilled ;)
They're called foaming handwash and the soap has the consistency of water when in the bottle, and they're supposed to be used with a special foaming pump.
I have the first version of soap dispenser and I used regular liquid Dove soap wattered down so that isn't so dense, and it works. I don't know if, after some time, that could stuck the nossles or not...
@@xiaomify It was very difficult to get the top cap off without breaking it, mine has been ripped slightly, it still works, but have to be very careful when taking it off, and using plastic tools for the process is recommended, otherwise You could destroy it.
For the previous model there were easier to remove caps, though eventually they started selling empty bottles on Ali, so probably for this one as well, at some point.
You have to use 30% soap and 70% water.
0:49 this is how much soap i use in a month.
Hi, what about its soap refill?
Lifebuoy ada bro yg cair khusus buat foam jg
@@keramitsaspotter8745 yeah indeed, you will probably have to water it down. I still need some time to get through this flask, but would want to try to refill it in a few months!
I must say that, so far, I have not been able to remove the top cap of the soap flask to be able to refill it so I'm not even 100% sure if I will succeed in that.
30% soap and 70% water. Not more than 50% soap.
dropped it once and now its broken. :(
Please tell me you wet your hands first and then put soap on it
Well, in this case, I surely did not!
I did not like the water drops in the shot. You know, aesthetics ;)
The audio editing is a bit off... The Bs and Ps hurt. Just a friendly observation for the next one (the previous were fine). Otherwise great video, as always.
I forgot the HPF on the microphone after I had taken it to record at a different location. In the next ones it will be alll good again : )
How does Chinese aliexpress soap smell? Just buy a xiaomi soap dispenser
Product discontinued.. I think I will buy one from BG..
can it work with any soap?
it's just regular hand soap mixed with water
Video only show the advantage of this dispenser, but didn't show how to do refilling if the bottle is going to be finish and empty.
It would have been great if it had rechargeable battery inbuilt
No, I prefer putting in standard rechargeable batteries of my own and not worry about the whole unit being a paperweight because the batteries not holding a charge.
Too much soap used
Shame you did not mention opening of the soap container. It is really a pain in the A.
woah
oh shit...
But the real question is: does it has WiFi?
One xiaomi will buy the world
Planning to buy this and ill put alcohol instead.
Xiaomi was low cost un the past. But that kind of product already exist for only 13 euro on Amazon. Why this one is 25 dollars !!?
You did not show how to refill it. Its a Pain which no website / video shows.
Why is this in my recommended?
The cap on the soap container is designed to be one-time use. It's not a screw-on. You have to pry it open to refill and it will break sooner or later. I guess they design it to fail so you will have to buy soap together with the container from them if you need a refill. What a shame.
Can you make a separate hole in the container, and just use that to refill the container?
@@adiands850 Yes. Just drill a small hole on top and used the original plug to seal it. I ended up doing that and it works.
@@rockymountainhigh2546 on top where?
@@AliceValentine The upper wall of the soap container (not on the cap). This is for refill purpose only and can be sealed (tape or the original rubber seal coming with it) after refill.
@@rockymountainhigh2546 thank you. I'm waiting for this to arrive in the mail with an extra bottle of soap so once I finish that I'll drill it
The soap container plug is trash. You suppose to remove it once the liquid is gone but it's way too hard. They've made it like this you will go and buy a brand new container and spend more money. Anyway I removed it using a screwdriver.. So I confirm you can refill it with your own soap.
That's good to know! TBH, I am not the person to DIY that much. So I would just simply buy their refill, however after looking at the comments I realize I am a rare breed ;)
Did you use a screw on the side to force it out?
@@bearbear807 Yep.. but after that, I shaved it using a razor/knife so it doesn't ever be stuck again.
Don't get this one !! Instead get those with USB charged one; and the bottom chamber is a simple screw on, much easier. I really regret getting this one.
Okay but why is this in my recommended
I thought that these guys were an internet company. Now they're making liquid dispensers...
They no longer make the internet
They are manufacturers of electrical goods. Not internet. LOL. They make all sorts of things, including vacuum cleaners, smart home products, lighting products, water kettles, shoes, clothes and accessories. They even make laundry pods!
Batteries. Seriously.
USB-C and a 1500 MaH battery would have been nice ;) Agreed!
That would have been in top-3 'weirdest things to charge' but unfortunately, it's batteries
You can get 30pk Alkaline AAs for $5, and they last a very long time with these handwash machines. Lithium batteries and water/shower steam don't mix IMO.
It's like rechargeable NiMH-batteries are not a thing, like seriously?
Cheap NiMH batteries will lose their charge quickly, and good ones like Eneloops are too expensive for these products. 4 disposable Alkaline AAs are like 70c and from my experience of similar machines they can last up to a year, so you'll be financially ahead using disposable ones.
would recommend giving the LADDA 2450 (703.038.76) from IKEA a try. they have pretty much the same characteristics as eneloop cells and they are a bit cheaper. some even say they are relabeled eneloops but I'm not sure about that.
Eh still wouldn't trust it. Probably has a mic in it
400 times. 50 days? Assuming a family of 4, who washes their hand only twice a day?
turn down the compression on your mic dude its way too much
I'll drop down threshold another 4 dB next time for your pleasure..
I forgot to have a cutoff filter on the mic after travelling so it just has too much low end, compression squashed that.. other than that nothing wrong with it in my opinion.. but well I'll do another video
@@xiaomify sorry if I came across as rude 😉
You should use a 100hz HPF (High Pass Filter) on your voice. Your plosives and voice rumble are quite bad >
I forgot the HPF on the mic this time around.
Don't have to teach me any audio : ua-cam.com/users/wickiemedia ;)
I just make mistakes when I'm in a rush and working on clients projects ;P
can this sell my data as well? Nice : )
Refilling is a pain in the butt. I broke the cap once so had to buy another soap container. I do not reccomend.
Are you sponsored by Xiaomi?
Nope I am not sponsored by anyone. In case I do get sponsored and/or receive products I tend to mention that in the video or in its description :)
Who is here after Corona virus 😷
30$ is a tad too high. Had it been around 20$, I'd buy it right away.
Until the dispenser run out of the soap everything is perfect. Then the hell begins. Container has so low quality and opening, putting soap is hard to do. %70 you will break the container entrance. If the lid leaves some air space, say goodbye to foam you just get liquid.
These types of automatic soap dispensers always eventually clog up. No thanks.
Mine works perfectly :)
Too much to deal with just for some soap, no charging or plug, batteries can die, can’t use your own soap and water solution but have to buy refills, Idk it’s too much work
