Some schools are not meant to be in FBS. Sac State not only is a good but not great program but they’re trying to get a stadium upgrade in a city that is still paying for G1C, and may have to pay for baseball upgrades and/or full stadium as well. And also a new soccer stadium for the Sac Republic. There’s just too much going on rn for Sac State.
That is my read on the situation as well. I don't think the administration did themselves any favors by having a big press conference talking about how much financial support they had before forcing through a student fee hike to raise funds for the new stadium. There will always be some students opposed to new fees, but the school could have done a much better job trying to win over their support instead of finding a few student senators to front the thing and making it seem like the whole school was supportive of increasing fees.
@@Outshined13 Yes, that's the reason possible tuition hikes. Sac State students will protest against any tuition increases and we like to say stuff like why is the chancellor getting paid 1,000,000 a year if there isn't enough money to sustain the current operations of the campus. I know it is typical for university campuses to raise tuition to pay for new facilities, us Sac State students just don't want to pay those costs.
The only thing Sacramento State really had going for it was hype and "Sac-12" sounding cool to the uninformed college football fan. The Pac-12 is focused on gaining the best schools outside of the P-4, so much so that it refused to merge with the Mountain West because it didn't want the lower-tier programs (I don't think they're bad, it is what it is.) FCS schools are absolutely not a realistic option nor are they in the Pac's overall strategy no matter how much they fit geographically. The fact the Mountain West chose UC Davis as a new member says a lot about the perception of Sac State in the eyes key people. It would be cool if Sac State made it to the FBS someday but its just not something that is happening anytime soon
Even beyond athletics, there were serious doubts to this campaign before it even statrted. Sac St has one of the smallest endowments in comparison to the Big Sky, let alone MW or PAC. To think all of a sudden this new wave of donors would join into the push for FBS football was over ambitious to say the least. The fact that the school has had uphill funding battles just to upgrade the basketball facilities and instead had to revert to refitting the student center shows just how difficult a jump to FBS would take more than just this one campaign.
Does the Toasted Rooster have the creepy Eggies clientele? If not I will try it. Eggies always creeped me out, with the guy missing an arm, leg or nose.
This video has aged especially well because the MWC is finalizing a deal to add UC Davis, but not Sac State. So it seems like they may take more desperation moves or the plans will finally be flatlining

baseball is in the city of West Sacramento
Im a Sac State Student and it seems students are against any new stadium plan

Sac native.. not Alumni or anything but why are students against the stadium. Is it possible tuition hikes?
@@Outshined13it seems like the fees on students went up to compensate for the funding they should've had.
Luke wood ruining sac state

Sacramento can never seem to have nice things on a sports front...
Why can't we just stop with the realignment or the call-ups? We don't want to dilute the FCS even further.

Sac state tried to go to PAC 12 and now they are watching Cal Davis move up to the Mountain West
The Sac State stadium and the Pac-12 thing is about as sure as the sale of the Oakland Coliseum.

Uc Davis made more sense for the mountain anyways. Uc will have time to move football up eventually
That food looks damn good!

Bacon and butter the best breakfast spot followed by tower cafe
They should have gone MW first. Maybe they can shift with UC Davis going.
The whole thing has been an Eminem Front.
Of course after this video UCD moves up
You expect credibility after claiming Toasted Rooster is the best breakfast in Sacramento? You lost all credibility!
