Nicely done Kap. Man, the Bobcat can get right in there. It seems to ride pretty smooth even when you have weight in the bucket (tree spade). Great team work. Full-watch.
yeah not sure what is on the horizon. Got some of the Illinois issues ironed out here and wanting to just enjoy what we have here more. We'll see what happens, but we're still living the dream, even in Illinois!
Nice job Mr. & Mrs. Kapper. The tree Spade is Sweet! That Bobcat is a do it all. March is know for its winds, at least here in coastal Groton/New London, CT. Its been a mild winter. February was springlike. Only a few small storms that have added about to about 6 inches for the year. We have had those winds here also the past few days. No snow! Not good for my friends that have plows. I'm surprised Mrs. Kapper has not made an entry sign of metal or wood (Kapper Twin Lakes Homestead
Yeah I hear you, crazy weather it seems all over. Good luck with the spring, you might get snow yet! Some day we might do a big entrance thing, who knows. thanks.
Mrs. Kapper, did you know that Bone Meal, is really helpful for transplanted trees? Just sprinkle about a cup or two of Bone Meal ( available anywhere gardening supplies are sold ) in and around the hole BEFORE you plant the new tree. You'll be impressed to see how well the trees grow after a few months! Our Gardening Center owner told us to be sure to stake and carefully wrap the trunk with burlap ( like a band-aid and tie any tree over 4 feet tall, especially in windy areas.
I didn't mean to sound like a 'know it all' here folks, it's just that after trying this same job that the Kappers are doing, and loosing a fair number, we decided to go ask the 'experts', at the Gardening Center - Tree Nursery folks.
@@kapperoutdoors Yes, and that's OK, but maybe you can get some Bone Meal at a Gardening Store, and try it for the next trees. Then, next fall, see which trees seem to be 'healthier' of those that you transplanted. Then there's your proof!
Great job. Great entrance gate. Stay safe and take care.
Nice job!
Thanks, we appreciate it! have a good one!
That tree spade is one heck of machine Kapper!
yeah, nice to have for sure. I've got to keep after it yet thanks man
All new Spaded trees Must be roped + staked.
Pruning them is a good idea too. Pre-Pruning a year ahead of transplanting would be wiser.
yeah we ended up staking them, at least the 2 big ones.
Great work Joe and Mrs. K transplanting the trees!
thank you we appreciate it. take care
Thank you! Take care as well and have a good weekend!
That tree spade is great. Entrance really looks nice!

Thank you sir, appreciate it
That Kentucky dream house seems to be fading away.

Very nice job relocating those trees. Take Care and Keep Exploring The Outdoors.
thank you, we appreciate it. take care
Awesome video Mr kapper. You look like a city worker and poor Mrs kapper holding that tree thanks for sharing it
lol, well you're kind of right!! But I do want to teach her the Skid steer!
Did these trees survive with that size rootball ?
All survived except for the biggest one. We are going to replace that one. But the rest made it.
Looks great 👍
Thanks, appreciate it

Thanks Josh, hope all is well across the state line!
That spade works slick nice job Napa Mike
yeah, good implement for sure, thanks
Not sure if it's been asked but what kind of spade is that?
Dont' recall off hand. I know it was a company in Wisconsin
I'm old school here on the Bug Farmer ranch. I use a shovel and a half a bottle of ibuprofen. :-)
lol well we've been doing it that way too for decades!! Lot of our small trees we did a long time ago are now huge!

Never heard of that one. Dang it, we could have tried this Before these trees! LOL. Thanks man

Excellent work, you two! That tree spade is handy thing, for sure. :D
yes sir, no doubt. We'll see if we got too greedy on the sized though! lol
I really like that fence at your entrance!!
thanks man, it turned out awesome. It was all just rough and nasty brush and stuff before.
That's spade is working great Joe. We've had crazy winds here in Ohio the last few days also
yeah we ended up having to stake them down! But we'll see how they hold up, thanks man
Great effort by the both of you will be good once they establish themselves again.
I think they will work, but we'll see down the road, thank you
Looks good Kap!
Thanks man appreciate it
Hope the trees like their new surroundings and take root for you guys. Was that stick thingy you were holding one of those primitive shovels Joe?
lol, yep it sure was!! It felt really strange in my hands!!!
Good size trees. No wonder they caught the wind like they did. Glad they survived!
Hartley Homestead Michigan they have to small of a root ball.
I ended up staking them down! The big one blew over again, but its all back in place now. We'll see how it goes!
@@FishFind3000 guess time will tell.... Many other big ones have survived with the same spade.
Nicely done buddy. I think they look great and blend in well with the gate landscape
Thank you, we'll keep an eye on them, timing should be good for the roots to start.
The deer will love them.
They don't eat the red cedars, they like the white cedars.
Ok good. I have Mule Deer here and I swear they will eat anything, esp winter, ie Holly leaves.
hey Kap...what color is the fence, I like that!
Steve
Not sure, to me it just looks brown! LOL. You'd have to ask the Mrs!
If others don't like these trees, have them complain to Mother Nature. ;-)
lol nice!
Those root balls are to small for those trees. Try picking smaller trees for better odds of success.
yep, we got a little..... aggressive!! LOL. We'll see what happens
Joe you do know it is okay to tie them to the fence it may look goofy but it's better than nothing
LOL, well I ended up putting in fence t posts and tied them down!
that machine makes planting trees a snap
yeah that Bobcat is a beast!
hi my friend, how is it w/o the front door on
It was just fine with out the door, nice weather too :) thanks
