Looks like you're getting good with the bobcat. If you're not bending or breaking something, you're not using it. The spade works well. Great video kapper!
@JoshBeckett Hi Josh, would you expect anything less from the Kapper! ❤️. He is good humored and fun to tease. Hope your not getting all that rain and creek flooding.
Yes I've had a very high survival rate over the years. Probably at least 90%. The only ones that did not survive were the ones that were just too big. I tend to push the envelope with the bigger ones. But for smaller trees as long as you move them in early spring or fall when they are dormant the success rate is nearly 100. Thanks
It's called a bag worm, I think. Perhaps someone else can verify that. Tree spade, it sure looks like it will come in handy. You and Mrs. Kapper enjoy the lack of snow.
Those ornaments are called bagworms, and if you don't treat for them you have to pull each one off, lepitect works if you treat them, can find on rainbowtreecarescience
Just got back in town so now I can catch-up on some videos. That tree spade did a great job. I was wondering if you might have a little trouble trying to drive the skid steer since your view was blocked with the tree in the Spade device. You seemed to do quite well. Okay, okay, you just now showed us the view you have from inside the cab . That machine is a beast. I think I heard you say you bent one of the spade blades. Hope it didn't do any major damage. Full-watch.
Yeah it was a little blocked for sure on the view but still mangeable. Yeah I bent it good but was able to get it pounded back again. They are mild steel so they bend in case you hit a big rock. S/F thanks man
I looked up the Bagworms and it says to remove all of the bags from the Cedar tree, then spray it. As far as I know, we don't have those around here. The deer just eat up the Cedar.
I'll let you and Mrs K have all the Cedars. I certainly dont have any or want any on my property. Cedars have galls in the springtime which sends spores in the air and causes Cedar Apple Rust. That is a blight/disease which is really hard on the Apple trees. Especially the varieties which aren't resistant to it.
Well, everything is easier on a skid steer, and it performs better with the tracks and tight spaces. A tractor will use it fine, but not as swift as the ctl.
Joe just let Mrs kapper run the bobcat and plant the tree's we all see who doing the work with a shovel come on Joe I have never heard her complain like you
yep you're right!! She is way tougher than I am!!! And yes, I'd love for her to start on the skid steer, she will maybe this weekend. Then I'm really in trouble because I might have to shovel then!!! lmao Gee thanks man!

Thanks Brick! Appreciate that! At least I was able to get it bent back to shape :)
Looks convenient running on the skid steer. Don’t even have to leave the seat
@JoshBeckett Hi Josh, would you expect anything less from the Kapper! ❤️. He is good humored and fun to tease. Hope your not getting all that rain and creek flooding.
yeah it sure is a lot more user friendly than on the tractor no doubt there. Thanks Josh.
Nice Kapper. If there is a ACE Hardware near you get some liquid bagworm killer and spray them. They start out with several and multiply fast.
yeah this year we are spraying!!!!
The Bobcat and tree spade did a good job. Couldn’t imagine digging those by hand.
Yepper, did a nice job but if you watch Part 2 you'll see our battle with the wind! But I'm loving that Bobcat! Thanks
Another really cool machine. I love it 😊
Yes I like that tree spade too thanks
Mr.capper you doing great job with machine & proud of you ! 🦌🤜🏻💥🤛🏻
Thanks man appreciate that.
Nice job Kap, that spade attachment is awesome
yeah it sure is. Wish we had some other pines growing naturally though, that would be nice. Thanks man
What a great attachment!
yeah I really like it. Hindsight I wish I got one a smidge bigger, but I'll keep using this one! Thanks man
You’re probably wondering how you ever made it without that track skid loader ain’t ya? They’re game changers! Nice work, Kapper!
oh my gosh man, this thing is awesome!!!!!
Looks like the tree spade did a good job of moving the cedars, just need fence post stakes to tie them to and keep the wind from blowing them over.
yeah, we struggled, if you watch part 2 you'll see it. but so far so good, thanks!
Another awesome video!!
Thank you I appreciate it! Mrs. K had the harder job :)
"Stuck in the Machine" that's the same excuse I use to get out of shoveling! 🤣
LMAO, shhhhh, don't spread the word!!! :)
I can see the bag worm pods on the dead ones. You need to get the spray it will take care of them.
yep, we're definitely spraying this spring!! Need to do the apple trees too, thanks.
Those damn bag worms killed the 4 giant cedars I had as my permanent Christmas trees along the front of my house in NC this summer too!!!
Dang it! Its not too often that Cedar's die off, they are very hardy!! Maybe invasive bugs!?
I need one of those. i am kind of surprised you're not out there with a kabota!
ha ha! What's a Kabota!!???
Can you update with a survival rate for these transplanted trees? Thanks. Great content.

Awesome. Thanks for replying!! Love your channel.

Yep, the long term plan of moving South is paying off! Short, and mild winters!

Thanks, yep, this year they are getting zapped!!!
Yes the bag worms hang out inside the tree on the trunk . They are really small and use bark to hide themselves during the summer
This year they're gettin zapped!!! Always something that kills something else! Thanks

you probably have white cedars, deer love those. These are reds, they don't like them to eat. I think maybe we'll just spray it, lol. thanks

Well, they are close and free!! lol
I have never used a tree spade before, so I am curious- for overall ease of use and performance, which machine do you like the spade on better?
Well, everything is easier on a skid steer, and it performs better with the tracks and tight spaces. A tractor will use it fine, but not as swift as the ctl.
What size is that spade and what's the biggest tree you think is viable to move with it?
I think it will do 3 inch hardwoods and either 4 or 5 inch conifers. I think it is a 32" thanks.
Great video Kapper. How big of a tree can u dig with the spade?
If I recall it can do up to 4 inch conifer and I think 3 inch hardwood. Not positive but I think that's it. Thanks
@@kapperoutdoors Thanks Kapper!! I appreciate it.
How much do you have in implements?
Probably enough to but a small piece of land!!!
The Cedar forest mover 1 tree at a time.
Darn right... One tree at a time! love it.
Bag worms, you can clean them up with systemic pesticide
Roger that, they're getting some juice this spring!! LOL thanks.
Can’t see your likes. Are you hiding them? Been that way for weeks now.
yes I turned them off (just the count numbers) but you can still hit the like button! Thanks.
Bobcat coming out with a tractor they said
yeah they've already got them in the show room!
