Hi, I have been a rotary fan and owner for over 25 years and always will be! I have really been enjoying your videos! Great stuff, stuff that we didn't get to see not so many years ago. How about doing a video explaining the the differences on housings and rotors over the years(generations etc) and which ones people should be picking for builds etc. Rotor strengths, weights, factory port sizes and potentials etc... Keep up the great work!
I heard that your supposed to Ballence them considering the volume of oil that the rotors hold do yall concider this in your counterweight ballencing ? I'm considering having all of this done what is the cost
what about cutting down the gear face on the rotor so it doesn't protrude past the rotor face, if it were ever to contact plates in high rpm and boost applications ? you remove material from everywhere else would be a good idea to also address the gear area as well ???
Yes we have cut down the gear in instances where we are aiming for much more side clearance. We only remove corresponding material from the gear when we surpass our regular clearance parameters. The gear is designed to protrude further outbound than the rest of the rotor face and we always keep it this way on purpose.
We do in fact, but its for low boost as the alum engines we do are not claimed to be stronger then a cast block. I did an all alum REW for a guy who runs twin turbos. We studded it and it holds just fine. Not recommended for high boost single turbo and they are expensive anyways
to any rotary guys out there, i have a question, 2004 Rx8, from time to time while driving normal my engine reves fine but when i go from low rpm to a sudden down shift to a high rev it occasionally makes a popping noise. i also run 2 stroke oil with my gas because im not sure that my OMP works at all. could some one please help?
Dylan Witt where abouts is the popping noise comming from ? I run pre mix aswell . my metering pump works fine but I feel the metering pump doesnt do a good job .
Jason Smith it's coming from the engine, if I accelerate hard from a dead stop it starts popping, it sounds like a compression pop or a misfire, but if I take it easy and accelerate slow to high rpm it runs just fine? I still have stock ignition coils also.
Lightening should be done on a lathe? Good luck with that! HAHA I actually know what your talking about Chris but our process works just fine. When I see a failure from not using a lathe maybe Ill switch.
What you now do is taking away the little Toque that the engine has away and increase the reves so the car will not keep up uphill to a normal piston four-liter engine. STOP CUTTING YOU WILL AT THE END DESTROY THE ROTARY POWER
Depends what your using the engine for. Aspirated always benefit from this mod. Turbo road race cars do also. We are not the only place who offers this...look around

Your work is a real projection of engineering, awesome!
Thank you!
What a shop you guys have. Great work!
I supposedly bought an re-w engine with this..... lightened and scalloped. In going to pull it apartv hope for the best and if it is, boy I'm excited!
im a shop in california.. and these guys have cought my attention. i will be sending all my projects to these guys there honest and know what is up ..
We appreciate it
Interesting content even if your not a rotary owner...
Thank you!
Very good and interesting keep up the good work mate 😀👍
Attention to detail 👌
Love this channel man. Keep it up :)
Will do, more to come
amazing work
The best rx7 specialties
Fantastic video, do you often do builds for US customers? Do you ever have problems shipping things across borders?
Yes we ship to the US all the time and have no difficulties
Awesome video
thank you!

Hi, what is the cost for this work on rotors and shaft for a mazda rx8? Thank you.
How balanced is a factory assembly on REW motors. Do you often seem them very far out of spec?
Класс это получается вы фрейзеруете роторы в последующем балланструете ... Это получается восстоновливленые старые ?
Uhh, so how much weight did you remove for Mr Dayberry?
just shy of 300 grams
Thanks, that's a significant amount of weight and might be an important piece of information to a prospective customer.

Fantastic work Adam!! Do you make an all aluminum 13b REW by chance???? 😍👍🏼 lol
We do in fact, but its for low boost as the alum engines we do are not claimed to be stronger then a cast block. I did an all alum REW for a guy who runs twin turbos. We studded it and it holds just fine. Not recommended for high boost single turbo and they are expensive anyways
RX7 Specialties ahh thank you for that! Saves me some dollars and hardship lol it’s Dan M btw lol i guess I’ll see you next week! 😜👌🏼
What is the second pass you do for on the corners and how much deeper you going? What is the depth finish on the lighting with the little endmill?
How much material is being cut on the face?
Im a machinist and love this stuff which i could work for your company
Good~
The rpm you use for balance are the same as the engine run?
Not even close...but the machine does not need to sample at running speed to be accurate
When restoring an A series 20B and doing a single turbo conversion, what are the things one should look out for?
Flyingdutchy33 wheel spin
rust and corrosion.
We have not encountered any rust or corrosion so far.
That was a very productive and helpful response. Thank you!
Sir how do u know which one is left and which one is right
Facing the work piece.

my car just turned over 132,000 miles
Might be time for a rebuild, same happened to mine and I ended up swapping the motor, I have a 2004 also, it's always those 1st year models haha
DEEREMEYER1 possibly, but I did notice better idling after the third fill up with 2 stroke oil. Guess it helped the APEX seals move a little Feely?
Why don't you lube during the process?
No need....modern tooling is awesome and still going 2 years later.
good day can
a billet rotor be built
Its been done
Up to what rpm is this good for reliably
Depends on the application but higher revs can be achieved respectively
Why you don't drill some holes from side to side from the place you remove the weight maybe 6 7 or 8 mm drill
Sorry dont understand what you are trying to suggest?
❤️❤️❤️😎😎😎
Can do this on big flyweel
Using stock flywheel you mean? The answer is yes
Fuckin wickedness......
this should be done on a lathe

Side clearance, wrong. Quit reading Racing Beat outdated 1970s manual. Lots of people now days teaching what they dont know.
