Hi - At the time in the video Simon did not have that information. But yes, we believe it's the original lacquer based on (a) our usual visual examinations and checks and (b) the history from the seller who had bought it originally from new. Thanks for checking.

Astounding. This Mark6 sounds better in tune, and with more clarity that usual Mark6 saxes from the late 1950s.
Yes. I love the late MK VI altos. For me they're better than the earlier ones, but it's down to personal preference!
